Stansted airport is less than an hour’s travel. , one the largest towns in Essex is the base for both Colchester Garrison and the University of Essex and there are numerous shops. There is a theatre and museum and selective grammar schools for girls and boys.

Tiptree is home to Wilkins jam factory, has a group of extremely useful shops and has the local secondary school, Thurstable School. is a small town with great charm and a selection of shops and restaurants and another local secondary school, The Plume School. All have active public library facilities and a range of adult education classes.

S������� A������ C��������� The Vicarage The Vicarage is situated in the centre of the Benefice in Tolleshunt D’Arcy. It stands back from the road in Church Street and is surrounded by an attractive garden overlooking open fields but secluded from neighbours. There is an integral double garage and parking for four cars. The C��������� M����� house has five bedrooms and was built in 1953 with the garage and fifth bedroom added in 1988. A modern conservatory has been added to the rear of the house and the whole house is in good decorative order. We are happy to help finance the internal decoration of the Vicarage as required.

Although the building was damaged by the 1884 earthquake the flint tower remained intact. The PCC goes to great lengths to ensure that the church is open 7 days a week during daylight hours and a coffee point has been established for the benefit of the congregation, walkers and casual visitors. Plans are in hand to add a toilet and kitchen facilities which will open out the possibilities for us to develop the church building in giving heart to the small village community. The fundraising efforts of the local Friends of St Marys group are directed to the costs of the toilet.
