Although it’s not a laughing matter in real life, the trials and tribulations of a “forni- cationally challenged” woman will take center stage next week at a Santa Monica play- house. The one-woman show — about an attractive, talented, funny and recently divorced woman who can’t get satisfaction — will debut at the New York International Fringe Festival in August. But before it leaves for the Big Apple, there will be a local send-off on July 27 at 8 p.m. The play is written and performed by Judi Lee Brandwein, and developed and direct- ed by Mark Travis. Tickets, on sale for $20, will benefit the Save-the-Playhouse Campaign. The show is for a mature audience, and will be shown in the Main Stage of the play- house located on 1211 Fourth St. Reservations required. Market on the rebound ... Last week marked the three-year anniversary of the Farmers’ Market crash, when an elderly driver plowed through the bustling market on Arizona Avenue, killing 10 people and injuring more than 50 more. The criminal and civil cases against the driver, Russell Weller, have been delayed numerous times, with a September trial date now scheduled. This week, Q-Line wants to know: “From what you know of the case, what is the best possible scenario for the defendant, the victims, the city and the Farmer’s Market to close this painful chapter in the city’s history?” Call 310 285-8106 or leave your post at smdp.com/forum and we’ll print your responses in the weekend edition.
