LONDON BOROUGH OF LAMBETH ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES AND REMOVAL OF PARKING SPACE IN KENNINGTON ROAD 1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable works to construct the Kennington Road cycling scheme to be carried out safely, the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth intends to make an Order the effect of which would be:- (a) at certain times to temporarily ban vehicles, except pedal cycles, from entering in a northerly direction that length of Kennington Road which lies between Lambeth Road and Hercules Road (an alternative route for affected vehicles would be available via Lambeth Road, St George’s Road, Westminster Bridge Road, Waterloo Road and Baylis Road); (b) at certain other times to temporarily ban vehicles, except pedal cycles, from entering in a southerly direction that length of Kennington Road which lies between Westminster Bridge Road and Lambeth Road (an alternative route for affected vehicles would be available via Westminster Bridge Road, London Road, Garden Row, St George’s Road and Lambeth Road); (c) to temporarily suspend and remove that length of the parking place for Police vehicles which is situated on the east side of Kennington Road, from a point 40.4 metres north of the northern kerb-line of Mead Row northwards for a distance of 44 metres, and impose a ban on waiting by vehicles at any time (indicated by double yellow lines) in its place. 2. Vehicles would be allowed access to and egress from properties in the above lengths of Kennington Road, as far as the extent of the works makes it possible. 3. The road closures would only apply at such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by the placing of the appropriate traffic signs. 4. The Order would come into force on 7th September 2020 and it would continue for a maximum duration of 12 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
