THE HOTEL: Kempinski Hotel Adriatic is the first Croatian five-star luxury seaside golf and spa resort. The hotel features 186 exclusively furnished rooms and suites, two gourmet restaurants, three bars, a 3,000 sq m spa with gym, a Kempinski Kids Club, a private wedding chapel surrounded by a Mediterranean garden, a serviced beach and various conference facilities in the hotel itself and in a separate conference centre at the beach directly overlooking the . The Golf Club Adriatic represents the first championship 18-hole golf course in the Istrian region.

LOCATION: The hotel is located in Northwestern Istria, near the fishermen’s village of Savudrija, approximately 10 km away from the town of . It is also close to the Slovenian and Italian border and easily reachable by car or by plane from many European capitals because of its close proximity to the international airports of Trieste, Venice, Pula and Ljubljana. The favourable geographical location, mild Mediterranean climate, rich cultural and historical heritage and beautiful green- and-blue landscapes, as well as many entertainment activities, are additional reasons to spend your precious free time in Istria, and the hotel serves as a perfect starting point to discover it.

Restaurant Dijana: Outstanding Mediterranean cuisine with international influences. The restaurant is located in the main hotel building and can accommodate 94 people, plus additional 72 people on the outdoor terrace. Operating hours: 7:00-11:00; 12:30-15:00; 18:30-22:30

Restaurant Kanova: Innovative and contemporary interpretation of the traditional Istrian-Mediterranean fusion. The menu focuses on the seasonal character of ingredients used in traditional local cuisine and uses fresh local fish, fine meat such as the Istrian autochthonous boškarin beef, wild asparagus, truffles and a wide selection of Istrian virgin olive oils, as well as home-made pasta and vegetables. The restaurant can accommodate 64 people, plus an additional 72 people on the open-air terrace. Adriatic Bar: Elegant, modern lobby bar (first-class choice of domestic and international wines, champagnes, cocktails, cognacs, schnapps, cigars). Operating hours: 9:00-12:00 midnight

Kempinski Hotel Adriatic is the ideal place for business meetings, congresses and promotions. The conference and meeting facilities in the hotel consist of one ballroom (Balun) and two boardrooms (Libar I and Libar II). The additional Marina conference centre building offers multifunctional and spacious venues equipped with built-in technology and complimentary high-speed Internet, and includes one boardroom, Stina, and a conference room, Silvium, with 210 theatre-style seats and 150 parliament-style seats, divisible into two or three sections. The facilities can also handle banquets and social events and gatherings of up to 180 people. Kempinski Hotel Adriatic has its very own chapel on-site, inspired by the local architecture and landscape, and is the perfect spot to get married. The chapel has a maximum capacity of 50 people.

SPORTS FACILITIES:

GYM: A fully equipped medium-sized gym with professional Technogym equipment and machines for cardio and strength exercise. Personal training sessions available on request. Operating hours: 6:00-12:00 midnight

SPA: The Greco-Roman Energy Clinic Carolea Spa was envisioned by Mr Niki Szilagyl and Mr Werner Hoessle and extends over 3,000 sq m (32,291.7 sq ft). The spa features a freshwater indoor pool, a heated outdoor whirlpool and hydro-pool, and the outdoor pool area includes two large freshwater swimming pools (one is heated

from May until early October) and one baby pool. Separate beauty, treatment and relaxing areas include six single treatment rooms, two couple treatment suites, a manicure and pedicure room, an aroma steam bath, a salt cabin steam bath, a bio sauna, a Finnish sauna, an ice cabin, relaxation areas and a Kneipp bench and Kneipp walk, as well as the original Turkish hamam bath and rasul. The Roman bath area includes tepidarium, caldarium, laconium and a Roman plunge pool. The spa and beauty and haircare products used are the Croatian Esensa Mediterana, as well as the international Decleor, Keune and Moroccan Oil. Signature treatment: hamam. GOLF: Golf Club Adriatic, the first 18-hole golf course in Istria, has a surface of 6,360 m, a par of 72 and features five tee-offs per hole, ensuring challenging play for golfers of all levels. The course features superb views over the Adriatic Sea from every tee, green and fairway. The wide ponds, the watery and dry biotope, the mixture of evergreen woods and picturesque century-old trees make the Golf Club Adriatic course a visually charming environment, giving to every golf enthusiast the chance “to play with senses and enjoy all year round!” The course’s amenities include a driving range, putting and chipping areas, golf pro-shop and the Club House with a restaurant and golf bar.

OTHER FACILITIES: The hotel has an attended pebbly beach located in a beautiful cove about 370 m (12,13.9 ft) from the main hotel building, offering a range of water activities, such as canoeing, paddle boating, jet skiing, water skiing and water balls during summer months. The beach is equipped with umbrellas, deck chairs and towels and a range of food and beverage services. In the resort there are four tennis courts with artificial grass, a basketball court and a football ground on offer. The hotel’s rural surroundings are ideal for leisurely walks and active sports, such as trekking, cycling and diving. Bicycles and e-bikes are also available for rent. Lobby shop is located in the hotel lobby.

KIDS CLUB: Kids are perfectly looked after at the Kempinski Kids Club, which has organised activities and offers attractive entertainment programmes. The Kids Club is specially tailored for kids aged 4 to 12 and the service is free of charge. The Kids Club mascot is a smiling orange dolphin called Kiki. Please note that operating hours are subject to season and change.

SIGHTSEEING: In the immediate proximity of the hotel, the oldest and the northernmost lighthouse on the Adriatic, built in 1818, can be found. The charming towns of Umag, Motovun, Grožnjan, Poreč and Rovinj with rich cultural-historical heritage, along with the Brijuni Islands National Park, the 35 km Lim Channel (sea reserve), Pula’s first-century amphitheatre and Hum, officially the smallest town in the world, are all must-see places located within easy driving distance of the hotel and only a small part of Istria’s heritage worth discovering.

CURRENCY: The official currency of Croatia is the kuna, which is divided into 100 lipas. Notes are issued in denominations of Kn 1,000, 500, 200, 100, 50, 20, 10 and 5. Coins are issued in denominations of Kn 25, 5, 2 and 1, and 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1 lipa.

CLIMATE: Istria enjoys a mild temperate Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters. Moderate rain falls quite evenly year round. Average temperatures during summer should lie in the mid- to high 20s°C (77-86°F), although it is more likely that you’ll have temperatures well into the 30s°C (high 80s or low 90s°F). Winters are obviously cooler, although temperatures never really get below about 5°C (41°F).

IMMIGRATION: EU citizens can enter the country by possessing an ID card or passport. Citizens of the US, Canada, Australia, UK and other EU countries may enter Croatia for stays of up to 90 days on nothing more than a passport with (a minimum of) six months’ validity and proof of onward passage. Visitors from other countries may require tourist

visas to gain entry and should contact a Croatian embassy in their home country for more information. On 1 July 2013, Croatia became a fully recognised member of the European Union.
