Teams will consist of at least 5 players, with a maximum of 10 players. The age divisions are as follows: Lombardi (Ages 5-6); Shula (Ages 7-8); Madden (Ages 9-10); and Walsh (Ages 11-12). Some divisions may be combined pending final registration numbers. 2. Gameplay is 5-on-5, NON-CONTACT (i.e. no tackling, blocking, stiff arming, screening, charging). Teams must start a game with a minimum of 5 players. In the event of an injury or absence, a team with insufficient substitute players may play with 4 players on the field, but no fewer than 4. 3. At the start of each game, captains from both teams shall meet at midfield for the coin toss to determine who shall start with the ball. The visiting team shall call the toss. 4. The winner of the coin toss has the choice of offense or defense. -

Rushing the Passer … 12 I. Game 1. At the start of each game, both teams will meet at midfield to be inspected for mouthpieces, no pockets, no cleats and properly tucked in flag belts. Captains from both teams shall then meet for the coin toss to determine who shall start with the ball. The visiting team shall call the toss. The home team as designated on the schedule will wear the color/dark jersey with the away team wearing the white jersey. 2. The winner of the coin toss decides either: (1) whether to take first offense possession or to defend first; or (2) which endzone to defend in the first half. The loser of the coin toss gets to select whichever option the winner of the coin toss opts not to select. [Example: winner of the coin toss elects to take the first offensive possession; the loser, in that circumstance, gets to select which endzone will be defended in the first half.] Teams change sides after the first half. The team that defended first gets the ball to start the second half. 3. The offensive team takes possession of the ball at its 5-yard line and has three (3) plays to cross midfield. -

ESP FLAG FOOTBALL RULEBOOK 2015 1 GAME BASICS At the start of each game, captains from both teams shall meet at midfield for the coin toss to determine who shall start with the ball. The visiting team calls the toss. The winner of the toss has choice of offense or defense. The loser of the coin toss has the choice of direction. Teams may not choose to defer to the second half. The offensive team takes possession of the ball at its 5-yard line and has 4 plays to cross midfield. Once a team crosses midfield, they have 4 plays to score a touchdown. If the offense team fails to get a first down or score the ball changes possession and the other team starts its drive on its own 5-yard line. All possession changes, except interceptions, start at on the offense’s 5-yard line. Teams change sides after the first half. Possession changes to the team that started the game on defense. EQUIPMENT The league will provide each player with a jersey, flags and mouth guard. Players must wear shoes. Football cleats are encouraged, however cleats with exposed metal are not allowed. Players may wear gloves, elbow pads, and kneepads. Any braces with exposed metal are not allowed. Players must remove all watches, earrings and other jewelry. FIELD The field dimensions for 9-11 & 12-14 are 30-yards by 70-yards with two 10-yard end zones, and a midfield line to gain a (1st Down). No run zones precede each line to gain by 5-yards. -

2021 Katy Youth Football® Spring Flag League - The Rules of the Game Official Playing Rules and Code of Conduct This document contains the official playing rules for Katy Youth Football® that are in effect for the KYF® Spring Flag Season. Katy Youth Football® adheres to the 5on5 NFL Flag format for all divisions of the Spring Flag League. These rules are in place to insure a level playing field for all teams that participate in the league, and to support a competitive, developmental environment for all. PRACTICE 1. Practices for players will begin upon announcement by the Board as per the League calendar. Organized team practices cannot be held from the first date of registration until after the pre-season coach’s meeting, and not until on or after the date specified by the league calendar. Coaches that engage in organized practices during this time will not coach that year. -

1st - 8th Grade Rules: Mini, JR, SR, Varsity Flag Football Fanatics Operates Under a ZERO Tolerance Policy. I. Game 1. At the start of each game, captains/coaches from both teams shall meet at midfield for the coin toss to determine who shall start with the ball. The visiting team shall call the toss. 2. The winner of a coin toss gets a choice of possession. Loser had a choice of direction. These will alternate in the second half; teams may NOT choose to defer to the second half. 3. The offensive team takes possession of the ball at its own 8-yard line and has three (3) or four (4) plays to cross midfield and score a TD **See Graph on last page** 4. If the offense fails to score or obtain a first down, the ball changes possession and the new offensive team gains possession on its own 8-yard line. 5. Flag guarding is an attempt by the ball carrier to obstruct the defender’s access to the flags by stiff arming, dropping of head, hand, arm or shoulder, or intentionally covering flags with the football or jersey. Flag Guarding will be called at the full discretion of the referee. 6. Interceptions will be returned. After an interception, the defensive team will gain possession at their own 8 yard line and be awarded 2 points if they successfully return it for a TD. An interception on a PAT automatically results in the try no good and regardless if the team goes for 1, 2, or 3, the intercepting team will receive 2 points if they successfully return it for a TD. -

Touch Football Rules & Regulations
Touch Football Rules & Regulations This is first and foremost a recreational youth league, so we encourage fair and positive play. This means we expect all participants and spectators to be POSTIVE and refrain from negative remarks or complaining about calls. Every participant will play an equal amount, and will receive ample opportunities to contribute on both sides of the ball. I. THE GAME a. The game will be 6 on 6 with two (2) down lineman. Coaches will rotate players so that all team members will have an equal amount of time as lineman and receivers. b. If a team is short-handed, game format will be decreased to 5 on 5 to ensure a fair game. c. Games will consist of two 20 minute quarters with running time. Clock will only stop on called timeouts, and under 30 seconds in each half on any dead ball (incomplete pass, or play ending with a player out of bounds). d. Each team will receive two timeouts per half. Timeouts can only be called by the coach. e. Teams will start their possession at their own 10 yard line. Teams have 4 downs to cross the midfield line for a first down. After crossing the midfield line, teams have 4 downs to score a touchdown. f. There are no punts. If a team chooses on fourth down to “punt” the defensive team will receive the ball and start possession on their own 10 yard line. g. There will be a 35 second play clock which begins upon placement of the ball by the referee. -

Fox Valley Pop Warner – 2021 Flag Football Rules GENERAL Flag football games are played using a 5-on-5 format. The offense will have a center (or QB Tee), quarterback, and a mix of wide receivers and running backs. The defensive positions can include rushers and pass defenders which may include man-to-man and zone defensive strategies. GAME 1. The HOME team will start with the ball in the FIRST half. The VISITOR team will start with the ball in the SECOND half. 2. The offense starts with the ball on the 40-yardline and has six downs to score. If the offense fails to score the opposing team will take offensive possession starting with the ball on the 40-yardline. Offensive drives are always in the same direction. 3. A touchdown is 6 points and a safety is 2 points (1-point conversion from the 5-yard line; 2-point conversion from the 10-yard line). EQUIPMENT 1. Player must bring their FVPW supplied NFL FLAG belts. 2. All players must wear FLAG belts and mouth guards at all times while on the playing fields. 3. NFL FLAG jerseys must be worn. 4. NFL FLAG footballs will be provided by FVPW. Team footballs are not allowed. 5. Players must wear shoes. Molded rubber cleats may be worn. However, cleats with exposed metal are never allowed. 6. Players may tape their forearms, hands and fingers. Players may wear gloves, elbow pads and kneepads. Braces with exposed metals are not allowed. 7. Players must remove all jewelry, hats and do-rags. -

Neither team shall commit any act which, in the opinion of the referee, tends to make a travesty of the game.
