For newer players, the number one way to get better is to learn the buttons, and the Skills Trainer will quickly teach you and then challenge you on what you learned. For veteran gamers, it is smart to check out the Skills Trainer to learn any new commands and to test yourself to make sure you really are as good as you thought! Another great reason to check out the Skills Trainer is that you earn items in MUT as rewards for getting gold in the drills! › T , . . / DEMO DRILLS PRECISION MODIFIER The key to beating this drill is to pay attention and use the actual move to score a TD. Scoring a TD but using a sti arm when you were supposed to spin won’t earn a positive result. Make sure you learn the timing of each move; a well-timed truck will give you a better chance to break a tackle and score. › T A B , , . INTRO / SKILLS TRAINER INTRO / SKILLS THE OPTION Learning to run a proper read option is one way to take advantage of all the mobile QB’s in Madden NFL 25! This drill will teach you how to use the brand new “read” key, which will show up before the snap. Make sure to lookout for this defender, if he stands up and watches the QB, hold down the snap button to give the ball to the HB. If the read defender crashes down towards the HB, skip the hando by not pressing anything, and the QB will keep the ball for a big gain. › O T O , “” , “ ” QB/HB BALL HAWK Last season, gamers were given the new ballhawk mechanic which instilled confidence on the defensive side of the ball. Players who were not used to playing as a defensive lineman, could now hold down the catch button and go up for big interceptions! In Madden NFL 25, Ballhawk is back and better than ever with great control for players trying to slow down the passing game. Work on the timing of clicking onto a defender and holding the catch button to activate ball hawk and make big plays! › M M NFL TOTAL CONTROL PASSING The Total Control Passing drill requires 10 out of 10 for a gold medal. The key is to really exaggerate the motion on the left stick to make sure your pass gets counted. There are three very tough throws to make: a deep pass in the seam, the comeback route on the right, and the in route by the TE over the middle. If you can get a setup that only has these passes being run once, you should have a good chance. The low passes to the outside and lead passes over the middle are very consistent, so they will be easy. You should see the same coverages with each route, so just be patient and learn how to make each throw. › I , 3 OVERVIEW HOW TO USE THE TEAMS CHAPTER: 5 BEST PERSONNEL OFFENSIVE PLAYS 4 PRO TIPS In this year’s guide we have redesigned how we deliver each team’s best oensive plays. Josh McDaniels fiasco, anthem protests are examples why the NFL misses Pat Bowlen right now By Paul Klee Colorado Springs Gazette Feb. 11, 2018 Robert Kraft is the real villain in the Josh McDaniels-Colts fiasco. With great power comes great responsibility, and no owner uses his for self-serving interests more frequently than the Patriots’. Some of the NFL’s most prominent issues — national anthem protests, distrust between players and owners, the fallout from continued and necessary CTE studies, all that — are a direct result of the league’s knee-jerk reaction to almost anything that threatens to tarnish the shield. I call it the CYA plan. Instead of working together to advance the greater good with a sensible solution, the men in charge seek to cover their own backside. The anthem protests are the perfect example. The NBA quickly and successfully identified a solution in the form of a blanket decree that all teams must stand for the anthem. And when’s the last time you read a report on anthem issues in the NBA? There haven’t been any. There’s been zero blowback from a league roster that’s 70 percent black. The NBA’s all good. This isn’t hard. Meantime, the wishy-washy NFL tried to appease this group ... and that group ... and that other group ... and the end result has been distrust from players and alienating a sizable chunk of its fandom. Nobody follows the CYA plan — ignoring what’s best for the league in order to help itself — better than Kraft. That brings us to McDaniels, who reneged on a promise to join the Colts as coach.

  • Constructions of Toxic Masculinity in Dramatic, Metaphorized, and Real-Life War Spaces
Boys Will Be Boys: Constructions of Toxic Masculinity in Dramatic, Metaphorized, and Real-Life War Spaces Nicholas Keough English War is violent; war is destructive; war is masculine. Although notable historical—as well as more recent—exceptions exist, men have traditionally acted as the instigators, organizers, and executers of war. Both real-life war as well as its dramatic and metaphorized representation in art and entertainment have worked to construct and idealize a heroic masculine paradigm. From the ancient Greek and Roman culture and their corresponding literary epics, through early modern conceptions of the masculine ethos and Renaissance drama, and up to and including the modern US military complex and its paid association with the National Football League, history has consistently provided a privileged space in which an enduring blueprint for the hypermasculine war hero is preserved. More specifically, in William Shakespeare’s Coriolanus and 1 Henry IV, as in real-life war, and the metaphorized war of the NFL, the physical landscape of the battlefield functions as a performance arena in which toxic masculinity is constructed, privileged, and perpetuated. For many cultures, in order to become a man, a young boy must participate in a culturally-prescribed rite of passage. Oftentimes, these rituals require displays of courage and stoicism—Vanuatu land diving; or require violence and aggression—the Spartan Krypteia; or require silently enduring pain and humiliation—college fraternity hazing. Acquiring one’s masculinity, then, is cross-culturally recognized as a socially constructed process through which one must successfully pass, and not a biological trait with which one is naturally born.

137 PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME All-time Florida State gridiron greats Walter Jones and Derrick Brooks are used to making history. The longtime NFL stars added an achievement that will without a doubt move to the top of their accolade-filled biographies when they were inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame inAugust, 2014. Jones and Brooks became the first pair of first-ballot Hall of Famers from the same class who attended the same college in over 40 years. The pair’s journey together started 20 years ago. Just as Brooks was wrapping up his All-America career at Florida State in 1994, Jones was joining the Seminoles out of Holmes Community College (Miss.) for the 1995 season. Jones and Brooks were the best at what they did for over a decade in the NFL. Brooks went to 11 Pro Bowls and never missed a game in 14 seasons (all with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers), while Jones became the NFL’s premier left tackle, going to nine Pro Bowls over 12 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. Both retired in 2008, and, six years later, Jones and Brooks were teammates for the first time as first-ballot Hall of Famers.
