The U.S. Junior Open is the largest individual squash tournament in the world, but what makes it special is the diverse group of athletes representing over forty countries who will compete this week. Through the competition, players will build new friendships and show that squash’s core values of fair-play, courtesy and respect are universal.
We are grateful to the four world-class institutions who have opened their facilities to this championship: Harvard University, MIT, Phillips Academy Andover and Northeastern University. FOOD AND BEVERAGE
Lunch will be available for all players on Saturday, December 14 - Monday, December 16. Players with matches at MIT or Northeastern should pick up their lunches at Harvard University beginning at 7:00am. Lunch for players at Harvard will take place from 11:00am – 2:00pm. Players at Andover will have food onsite between 11:00am – 2:00pm.
Concessions will be sold onsite at Harvard and Andover throughout the weekend offering drinks, coffee, granola bars, and sandwiches. PRACTICE COURTS On Friday, December 13 from 12:00 – 11:00pm practice courts will be available at Harvard only. Practice courts will be $10/player per 30 minute block, which will be paid onsite at the Harvard check-in desk. Courts cannot be reserved in advance.
TRANSPORTATION Shuttles will be running on Saturday, December 14 – Tuesday, December 17 from tournament hotels and all facilities. Players and spectators who intend to use the shuttle bus must purchase a pass for $50. A pass is valid for only one traveler and may be used for all four days of the tournament. Tickets may be purchased at ussquash.com/ junioropen or onsite at Harvard.
COLLEGE SQUASH PRESENTATION David Poolman, CSA Executive Director will be presenting on Saturday, December 14 at 10:30am and 12:30pm at the Murr Lounge on the 3rd floor of the Murr Center.T opics to be covered include the state of college squash, an overview of the recruitment process, and what the coaches are looking out for. All age groups are encouraged to attend.
