Marriage Preparation sessions must begin twelve months prior to marriage date. Please contact the office before any arrangements are made regarding the wedding. The letter, Patris Corde (“a Father’s heart”) was released on the 150th anniversary of the proclamation of Saint Joseph as patron of the Universal Church. Indulgence The Apostolic Penitentiary issued a decree on December 8, 2020, formally announcing the decision of Pope Francis to celebrate the Year of Saint Joseph through December 8, 2021. Special opportunities to receive a plenary indulgence were also included, subject to the usual conditions: sacramental confession, reception of Holy Communion, prayer for the intentions of the Pope, and total detachment to all sin, including venial sin. Due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Holy See made provision in its decree that persons who are currently unable to go to Mass or confession because of public health restrictions may defer reception of those two sacraments until they are able to do so. Those who are sick, suffering, or homebound may also receive the plenary indulgence by fulfilling as much as they are able and by offering their sorrows and sufferings to God through Saint Joseph, consoler of the sick and patron saint for receiving a good death.

Zannoni Pre Note: On December 8, 2020, Pope Francis proclaimed in an Apostolic Letter entitled “Patris corde” (“With a Father’s Heart”) a “Year of Saint Joseph” from December 8, 2020, to December 8, 2021. Also, the Church celebrates the Solemnity (feast) of St. Joseph liturgically on March 19. Thus, the following reflection is offered on Joseph's biblical roots, the spouse of Mary, the mother of Jesus. What the Gospels Reveal About St. Joseph The only source we have for St. Joseph is the gospels. He is mentioned sixteen times in three of the four gospels. Matthew mentions him eight times, Luke seven times, and John once. This singular reference to Joseph in John's gospel (6:41-42) only refers to Joseph as the father of Jesus. The Portrayal of Joseph in the Gospel of Matthew In Matthew's gospel's infancy narrative, the first time Joseph is mentioned is in the genealogy of Jesus (Matthew 1:1-17), and he is called the husband of Mary (1:16). The second time Joseph is referred to as betrothed to Mary. They are engaged, “but before they lived together, she [Mary] was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit” (1:18). Mary and Joseph are between two stages of ancient Jewish marriage. The first is the formal consent in the home of the father of the bride. The second, made later, is the transfer of the bride to the house of the groom. In the Jewish legal view, Mary and Joseph's betrothal was considered a legally contracted marriage, completed before they cohabitated.

Charles Menard of Thibodaux said Mass at the home of Alexis Duplantis, near the present site of the Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church. On November 9, 1864, Archbishop Odin of New Orleans officially recognized the area as a church parish, naming Fr. Jean Marie Joseph Denece its first resident pastor. Soon after that, Fr. Denece took up residence at the home of Omar Babin, a few miles “down the bayou” from the present-day church in Chauvin. There Fr. Denece found in a pasture a humble chapel and only one cassock. Two years later, in 1866, he built the first church on property donated for that purpose and oversaw the confirmation of 102 parishioners. This first church was built on or near the site of the older, front section of the present day St. Joseph Church Cemetery. Fr. Denece remained 26 years in the area and is responsible for building the first rectory in Chauvin and a chapel in Montegut, the precursor to Sacred Heart Church. Underfunded and understaffed organizations benefit the most from a cloud archi- tecture because it can help to alleviate a cost burden allowing funds to be used more effectively. Therefore, we believe that non-profit organizations, such as schools, libraries, non-profit medical facilities, and others have the most to gain from cloud computing. Cloud computing has played a major role in shaping large for-profit businesses like Google, Amazon, and Microsoft. Research has suggested that cultural barriers make it difficult for professionals in non-profits to adopt cloud computing technology. One key challenge faced by organizations for which a cloud architecture would be benefi- cial is the deployment and management process. In order for private cloud computing to become a viable solution for struggling organizations, much work needs to be done to simplify and im- prove the deployment process. We describe a new cloud architecture called THUNDER, which is a recursive backronym meaning “THUNDER Helps Underfunded Nonprofits Distribute Electronic Resources.” THUNDER introduces strategies which are meant to help struggling organizations to de- crease costs.
