It’s sometimes sad or scary to have to let go of familiar ways and things, such as Žȱ ’ȱ •Šœȱ ¢ŽŠ›ȱ ‘Ž—ȱ Žȱ œŠ’ȱ ˜˜Ȭ‹¢Žȱ ˜ȱ the former Mother of Sorrows Church. You’ve already been introduced to our “pastoral plan,” in which my top priorities for the parish as a whole are Sunday and discipleship. By “Sunday,” I mean our observance of the command to keep holy the Lord’s Day: Grateful worship, inspirational music and preaching, warm hospitality, and even in our homes a sharper focus on family, neighborly fellowship, rest, and prayer.

By “discipleship,” I mean an extensive awareness of ourselves as followers of Jesus: Habits of articulating how the Lord Jesus is saving us, entrusting ourselves to his care, answering the call to continuing conversion and to deepening participation in prayer and sacraments, ongoing formation, and intentional fellowship. OTHER NEWS With regret, I announce Bonnie Amendola’s resignation as assistant director of operations for Archangel Gabriel Parish. Bonnie has adapted heroically to the considerable tumult over the past two and a half years. She explains that while she has appreciated the opportunity to work at Holy Trinity and then Archangel Gabriel Parish, she needs a more reliable working situation.
