A Message From Annual Report 2015-2016 President

Pope Francis declared the ‘Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy’ covering the period Dec. 8, 2015, to Nov. 20, 2016. The current annual report describes more than twenty programms directly responds to the exhortation of Pope, undertaken by the organization during the initial period up to April 2016 and it is laudable.

It is seen also that under TSSS many training programmes are conducted for the benefit of the stakeholders in different sectors. The women empowerment programme and the special focus on Fish vending women and their related issues are very vivid in the year under reference. The Self Help Groups have managed to obtain bank loans making an all time record of more than 7.8 million rupees. It is also well used and the repayment is monitored.

All the actives of Save a Family plan, the Child line activates and Agricultural based activities also mark clear progress during the current year. Worth mention is the “House a Gift” programme by which the basic need of a house of all the homeless families is addressed. The first handing over of keys of 13 houses was the first fruit of this great work.

The Captain of the team, Fr. Lenin Raj is to be applauded and the Archdiocese acknowledges his service. I also add a word of thanks to all the collaborators both of the country and abroad, of this great movement in the way of attaining the vision of the Society.

Msgr. Eugine H. Pereira, President
