1 CHAPTER POPULATION AND THE MACROECONOMY Chapter 1, Population And The Macroeconomy 3 CHAPTER POPULATION AND THE MACROECONOMY POPULATION PROFILE OF THE STATE According to the Census of India 2011, the of children in the age group 0-6 years in Kerala population of Kerala was 33,406,061, or 2.76 per was 12 per cent at the Census of 2001 and 10 per cent of India’s population. In Kerala, several linkage mechanisms are existed at the state and regional levels to provide strong ties between research and extension system. The study was conducted in Kannur district of Kerala to identify the extent of awareness of farmers on ITD methods implemented by different agricultural institutions in Kannur district. Thirty farmers each from four selected grama panchayats (Ezhome, Kankol- Alapadamba, Kadannapalli- Panapuzha and Mayyil) of Kannur were identified using simple random sampling and a total of one hundred and twenty respondents were included in the study. -

In the recent workshop conducted by the WHO South East Asia office on 14th August 2020, the focus was on Health Care Workers and how to ensure motivation and health of the Health Care Workers throughout the world. All the experts opined that the Health Care Workers management is very essential and the most integral part of it to give the confidence to the Health Care Workers regarding their protection. This volume gives the information regarding HCW getting positive in the month of July. • Out of the total Health care workers affected, 98 (22%) were Doctors, 148(33%) were Staff nurses, 85(19%) were either Nursing Assistants/Hospital Attenders, 20(5%) were Field staff (HI/JHI/JPHN), 17(4%) were Asha workers, 46(10%) were paramedical staff and 28(6%) were office staff/support staff. • Out of the total Health care workers affected, most were from Thiruvananthapuram district (30%), followed by Kannur (21%), and Kozhikode (12%) districts. • Least number of health care workers were affected in Palakkad district. • Of the Doctors affected, 74 (75.5%) are from Government sector while 24 (24.5%) are from private sector. For Nurses the figures are 82 (55.4%) and 66 (44.6%) respectively • Of the health care workers contracted COVID 19, 301 (68%) were involved in direct patient care, 103 (23%) were supportive staff and 37 (9%) were field staff.
