Dole-Stanfilco is a subsidiary of California- based Dole Food Company. Dole sources bananas, fresh pineapples, papaya and

other fruits and vegetables from the . Dole-Stanfilco is now part of the Singapore-based Dole Asia Holdings of Itochu Corporation after its acquisition during the first quarter of 2013. Stanfilco is a pioneer of Philippine banana export industry. It was on year 2000 where Dole-Stanfilco expanded in North Cotabato. Stanfilco is considered as fresh product division of Dole Philippines Inc. Stanfilco-North Cotabato Zone currently employs 1, 516 workers of which 4% of it are 0-4 years of service, 2% 5-6 years, 20% 9-10 years, 25% 11-12 years, and 49% 13-14 years of service.

Dole-Stanfilco’s organizational structure shifted from a traditional form to a Circular form, where it aims to get rid of the traditional social barriers. Dole Stanfilco as an innovative, excellent and technology driven company is a member of the Philippine Banana Growers and Exporters Association. It also has linkages and partnership to civil society Organizations, NGO’s and kasilak Dev’t. Foundation Inc. in the implementation of its Corporate Social Responsibility Programs. Dole-Stanfilco is also affiliated with PMAP, LMC organization like the Association of Industrial Peace Advocates – Socsksargen(AIPA-S) and implement programs under the Dept. of Labor and Employment, National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB), Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) and other Government agencies for long term sustainability and job preservation.

Dole-Stanfilco has two recognized bargaining unit – the Stanfilco Employees Union and the Stanfilco Makilala Labor Union. Its first LMC was established last June 3, 2005 as incorporated in the 1st Collective Bargaining Agreement with the aim to have an open venue of communication where in labor and management feel comfortable to discuss issues and concerns after several farms wasn’t able to hit their productivity goals due to workers resistance and low efficiency. Continuous dialog with union leaders through the Labor Management Council meetings, workers’ rights, education programs, inclusion to sports, civic, religious activities and fellowships. As a result of Labor and Management Cooperation a smooth and speedier CBA negotiations was done in half day only. As of today there are no pending cases filed in the Dept. of Labor and Employment and NCMB.

Today with LMC Dole- Stanfilco is shining towards F E E D. Future – the company is looking forward to a strategic Visioning and Partnering for Business and Job survival, gearing for Excellence by attaining High Quality and Productivity, Equity for Industrial Peace and Development with social Accountability to areas where Dole stanfilco operates.

Dole-Stanfilco’s Kaibigan culture is the spiritual aspect of business management. It is a program that crushes invisible walls dividing the management and labor. "sir/Ma’am less” policy. They call each other Kaibigan. During Kaibigan Fellowship, workers are encouraged to listen to the Bible Sharing, peptalks, and discussing petty issues and concerns were addressed.

Advocacy and integration of government related laws and programs such as the RA 7877 or the Anti-sexual Harassment Law was jointly implemented by both the management and the union. Drug-free workplace Policy was included in the Health and Safety Committee of the LMC. Gender Sensitivity and Awareness in partnership with the provincial government’s Population management Division was conducted yearly with two (2) batches wherein the Union was tasked to identify attendees for the said 2 day Training Seminar. Regular Medical check up to both the workers and their dependents are conducted to ensure the workers welfare.

As an offshoot of the LMC, regular workers a rice subsidy in cash equivalent of P 2,000 pesos per CBA year. To ensure the safety and health of the workers, Dole Stanfilco established a Waste Management System for environmental protection, hygiene and sanitation where RE USE, REDUCE, and RECYCLING of waste was encourage to workers through the Dole Kaizen Team, an innovation program where workers are challenge to innovate, developed and reduce cost at the same time improving process flow. Workers innovations are given chances to be presented for evaluations, cost analysis and project impact. After of which workers are given cash incentives, tokens and certificates of recognition.

Dole stanfilco with its genuine concern for the environment conducts Tree planting activities. Annual tree planting goals are set together with the LMC. The two unions were given tree planting goals. The union identify areas to be planted and the company provide the planting materials and seedlings.

To further strengthen family ties and labor- management relationship, a spiritual program that would give value formation are held every first Friday of the month. A holy Eucharistic celebration aims to provide ample time to workers to give thanks for all the blessings they received.

Aside from the Incentive bonus, the company also grants a 2 weeks productivity Bonus if farm goals were achieved. An additional 2 weeks pay of workers daily basic wage if Farm Zonal goals were achieved.

Through the assistance of Dole Stanfilco management, Stanfilco Makilala Labor Union and stanfilco Kidapawan Employees Union were able to avail P1,3 Million assistance for Workers Augmentation

Program (WINAP) of the Department of Labor and Employment Region 12 to improve the quality of life of the workers.

Because of a strengthened Labor- Management relation that resulted to the attainment of industrial Peace, Dole Stanfilco was able to extend its comprehensive Social services Programs, like Gift Giving to selected communities were we operate, Free live-band concert, Patient Home Visitation, feeding program to six schools good for 120 days to severely waisted and waisted children in partnership with local Government unit and Department of Education.

A total of Six (6) elementary Schools were chosen for Dole stanfilco’s Adopt a-School program. Dole Stanfilco provides K-12 ready Textbooks annually. Dole Stanfilco also provides Computer set with printer, television and E-media package, science laboratory equipment and provide and allocate funds for teachers Training. Dole Stanfilco also supports the alternative learning System (ALS) of the Department of Education Program. A total of 18 schools were given support during the Brigada Eskwela, provision of painting materials and garbage bins are delivered on time.

A total of 32 units Ferrocement water tank called Banga Pinoy were constructed and turned over to communities surrounding our Area of Operation. Also Dole STanfilco continue to provide Tree Planting seedlings to community Tree Planting activities.

These milestone gained recognition from communities and award giving bodies making Dole stanfilco number 1 in the market in Japan, Korea, and Middle East. Dole STanfilco was a National Awardee in the Search for Establishments with Best Family Welfare Practices in the workplace in 2010.
