By April 15, 2018, the project had benefitted a total of 360,000 residents and tourists including 45% female. Tourist satisfaction has increased from the baseline 70% in 2016 to 74% in 2017. Conservation works of three cultural heritage (CH) sites are under implementation and are expected to be completed by the end of 2018. In terms of implementation progress, technical design documents of almost all the physical investments have been completed. Out of the total 27 Bank- financed contracts, 14 have been procured and the rest are on track to be procured. Another 22 contracts have been procured through counterpart funding as part of the project. Appropriate sites were selected for the temporary sediment stockpile and the tourism information center and thus relevant pending issues from previous missions were satisfactorily resolved. The PMO and PIUs, under strong leadership of the municipal government, are implementing the project at full speed with coordinated efforts. All the four components progressed significantly. Under Component A of Cultural Heritage (CH) Conservation, all the design documents have been completed, except for the design of tourist information center to be completed by July 2018. Required approvals from the State Administration of Cultural Heritage (SACH) were obtained for conserving all the CH sites under the component except one subproject awaiting SACH approval. Under Component B of Water Environment Improvement, among the three civil works contracts, a large contract on dredging of the moat was awarded and the works commenced. The contract on water body connection is under procurement. The bid of the largest contract on constructed wetland and embankment is expected to be published in May 2018. Under Component C of Transport Improvement, the successful installation of 28 bus stop kiosks and operation of the 30 clean-energy buses have doubled the ridership and improved satisfaction levels. Two large civil works contracts were awarded and commenced. Under Component D of Project Management and Capacity Building, all the five contracts were procured. The Project Management Company (PMC)has improved project management. Consultants have been hired for studies on historic city conservation and regeneration as well as and historic city traffic management. Three training sessions and one technical workshop were conducted in the past six months for capacity building. Since traditional evaluation models often consider only the distance between the evaluation point and the positive or negative ideal solution, we introduce gray correlation analysis and construct a new sustainability evaluation model. Our research results show that only one city had excellent sustainable development capacity of agricultural water resources, and the evaluation value of eight cities fluctuated by around 0.5 (the median of the evaluation result), while the sustainable development capacity of agricultural water resources in other cities was relatively poor. Our findings not only reflect the differences in the natural conditions of water resources among various cities in Hubei, but also the impact of the cities’ policies to ensure efficient agricultural water use for sustainable development. The positive rate of cercaria in the body of intermediate hosts, Parafossarulus stratulus and Alocinma longicornis was 12.25% and 3.84% respectively. Positive rates of metacercariae in the bodies of Pseudonaphona parva was 48.15%, Ctenopharyngodon idellus 17.24% and Hypophthalmichthys nobilis 18.18%. Positive rate of eggs in the feces of cats was 36.36% and pigs 16.67%. It has been confirmed that there is a natural focus of clonorchiasis sinensis at Yangxin County of Hubei Province. A total population of 6,865 in 20 sites of 10 production brigades of Panqiao township was surveyed for infection with Clonorchis sinensis. The average infection rate in the local residents was 5.80%. Male had a higher infection rate than female. The infected persons were mainly peasants and school girls and boys. Most of the infected persons had light infections ( 1°)without a serious clinical manifestations. INTRODUCTION Study target 1.     The Diminutive Word tsa42 in the Xianning Dialect: A Cognitive Approach* Xiaolong Lu University of Arizona [email protected] This study reports on the syntactic distribution and semantic features of a spoken word tsa42 as a form of diminutive address in the Xianning dialect. Two research questions are examined: what are the distributional patterns of the dialectal word tsa42 regarding its different functions in the Xianning dialect? And when this word serves as a suffix of nouns, why can it be widely used as a diminutive marker in the dialect? Based on interview data, I argue that (1) there are restrictions in using the diminutive word tsa42 together with adjectives and nouns, and certain countable nouns denoting huge and fierce animals, or large transportation tools, etc., cannot co-occur with the diminutive word tsa42; and (2) the markedness theory (Shi 2005) is used to explain that the diminutive suffix tsa42 can be used to highlight nouns denoting things of small sizes. The revised model of Radial Category (Jurafsky 1996) helps account for different categorizations metaphorically and metonymically extended from the prototype “child” in terms of tsa42, etc. This case study implies that a typological model for diminution needs to be built to connect the analysis of other diminutive words in Chinese dialects and beyond. 1.
