The source musical material for the latter was from four real and imaginary mechanical devices that were presented in alternating movements that evolved throughout the piece. In contrast, TRANCE ORGANICS derives all of its source material from a relatively simple, crooning clarinet melody that appears in the penultimate section of the piece (THE ARRIVAL). -

NOTES JUNE 2005 A MAGAZINE FOR ALUMNI OF THE EASTMAN SCHOOL OF MUSIC FROM THE EDITOR Loss, love, and legacies Dear Eastman Alumni: More than any time since I began editing Eastman Notes, the winter and spring of 2004¬2005 was marked by a sense of loss, with the deaths of two inimitable NOTES figures in Eastman’s history: Frederick Fennell and Ruth Watanabe, who died in Volume 23, Number 2 December 2004 and February 2005 respectively. 1 Instructional Materials - 2020-2021 The Grove School uses a variety of instructional materials for each student for each class because as a Montessori school we value a more authentic learning experience resulting in deeper student engagement, students learning and practicing research skills, and learning through practical experiences. As a Montessori school, we have the expectation that students will use multiple resources to check information, utilize primary sources, learn through a variety of sources of information, and also learn through their own practical experiences. This being said, we also know the value of having a textbook for students to use as a simple and straightforward resource to learn or review some of the basic information about a topic. This is why The Grove School has a classroom set of textbooks for students to use in class and for students to check out at night if needed. The Grove School adopted the blended curriculum of the BYU High School Online Curriculum for all classes as supplemental material. Students access the supplemental curriculum through school provided logins and if needed school provided devices.
