SHRI KARADI SANGANNA AMARAPPA (KOPPAL): Madam, I would like to draw your attention that Koppal district is having a number of industries like steel, rice, granite, handloom, etc. In all these industries, nearly more than 30,000 labourers are working. These labourers are not able to avail of the medical facilities. Now, the Government of India is ready to sanction an ESI hospital to Koppal district. I came to know that out of 30,000 labourers, only 8,000 employees are registered and insured for getting treatment in the Government-run Corporation. So, it is very essential for us to make the remaining 22,000 employees to get insurance for getting treatment in the Government-run Corporation. Madam, further I would like to bring to your kind notice that in Gangavathi, Kusthagi and Yelburga taluks this scheme is not being implemented. In these three taluks and also in the Koppal area where it is implemented, we have theatres, shops, colleges, hotels and industries in which more than 10 people are working in each unit and they earn less than Rs.15,000 per month. Due to their less income they are unable to afford treatment in such big hospitals. Madam, hence I request you to issue direction to the concerned authorities to start a survey to implement it in the uncovered areas so that the beneficiaries get registered and insured within next three months. I hope you will join hands in the endeavour to establish the ESI hospital at the earliest in Koppal district and oblige. Thank you, Madam. .

It sustains the flow in our rivers and plays an important role in maintaining the fragile ecosystems. The groundwater dependence of agrarian states like Karnataka is high. Recent studies indicate that 26 percent of the area of Karnataka State is under over exploited category and number of blocks is under critical category. In view of the growing concerns of sustainability of ground water sources, immediate attention is required to augment groundwater resources in stressed areas. Irrigated agriculture in the state is putting additional stress on the groundwater system and needs proper management of the resources. Central Ground Water Board is providing all technical input for effective management of ground water resources in the state. The groundwater scenario compiled on administrative divisions gives a better perspective for planning various ground water management measures by local administrative bodies. With this objective, Central Ground Water Board is publishing the revised groundwater information booklet for all the districts of the state. I do appreciate the efforts of Dr. K.Md.Najeeb, Regional Director and his fleet of dedicated Scientists of South Western Region, Bangalore for bringing out this booklet. I am sure these brochures will provide a portrait of the groundwater resources in each district for planning effective management measures by the administrators, planners and the stake holders. SHRI KARADI SANGANNA AMARAPPA (KOPPAL): Respected Sir, it is my pleasure and I congratulate you for the new creation of the Mini Circle of ASI at Hampi of Bellary District. Sir, I would like to draw your kind attention to some of the major historical monuments which come under my constituency, Koppal. After having many famous and historical monuments, this area is untouched from development as well as tourist footfall. Koppal comes under section 371J. In spite of this, Koppal is a very good place for tourism. Here, I mention some among them: one, rock edicts of Emperor Ashoka on the hillock at Gavimatha and Palki Gundu at Koppal, District Koppal; two, rock edicts of Emperor Ashoka and the ancient mound at Kaski, District Raichur; three, Mahadeva Temple (Emperor of Temples) at Itagi, Tehsil Yelburga, District Koppal; four, monuments at Anegundi Tehsil Gangavathi, District Koppal. five, Kanakachal Temple and other monuments at Kanakgiri Tehsil, Gangavathi, District Koppal. These are in my area. Apart from these, some of these monuments are under Dharwad ASI Circle. But for the better maintenance of all the above monuments, I request the Government to include the newly-established Mini Circle of ASI at Hampi. I would like to bring to your kind attention that this will fall under Hyderabad-Karnataka Article 371(J) area which is recently given the special status through the amendment of the Constitution.
