Tujuan penelitian untuk menemukan teori manajemen strategi sekolah dasar Islam yang memiliki keunggulan bersaing berkelanjutan dalam menghadapi lingkungan masa depan yang mempunyai ciri VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambigou) yaitu keadaan masyarakat menjadi semakin dinamis, cepat berubah, tidak pasti, komplek, dan ambigu. Berdasarkan tujuan tersebut penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan grounded theory. Dengan pendekatan grounded theory, data adalah inspirasi teori kemudian bergerak membentuk teori yang menerangkan data. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan reduksi data yaitu merangkum, mengklasifikasi, menginterpretasi, menghubungkan dan membangun generalisasi konsep-konsep yang merupakan teori. Penyajian data dengan penjabaran makna dan menarik kesimpulan dengan mereview data dan teori yang telah dibangun dalam penelitian diungkapkan bersama teori-teori lain. Pengecekan keabsahan data dengan tringulasi sumber dan teknik yaitu jumlah tempat penelitian yang berjumlah tiga, SDI Budi Mulia Dua Bintaro sebagai tempat penelitian utama, SDI Al Azhar 15 Pamulang dan SDI Cikal Harapan1 BSD sebagai penguat data temuan. Hasil temuan penelitian yaitu teori manajemen strategi sekolah dasar Islam adalah kemampuan memiliki keunggulan bersaing berkelanjutan yang dapat dicapai melalui pelayanan holistik yang ramah (hospitality holistic service), kurikulum terintegrasi (integrated curriculum), keunggulan fasilitas (facility excellence) dengan inovasi pengembangan yang dilakukan terus menerus agar dapat beradaptasi dengan perubahan lingkungan yang semakin dinamis, cepat berubah, tidak pasti, komplek, dan ambigu. Temuan teori sesuai dengan manajemen strategi dalam perspektif Islam yaitu tujuan memiliki keunggulan bersaing untuk keberlangsungan sekolah dan mencapai tujuan yang lebih mulia. Temuan teori didukung oleh teori Edward Sallis yaitu Total Quality Management (TQM), teori Michael E. Porter yaitu strategi generik fokus diferensiasi, dan juga teori Fred R. David dan Forest R. David yaitu keunggulan bersaing dilakukan dengan inovasi pengembangan yang dilakukan terus menerus. Temuan teori ini juga mengkritik teori Philip Kotler karena sekolah dasar Islam bukanlah sekolah dengan biaya rendah dikarenakan sumber pembiayaan sekolah dasar Islam dilakukan mandiri dalam pengembangan sekolah. Teori manajemen strategi sekolah dasar Islam sudah kuat karena dilakukan review dengan teori manajemen strategi dan Total Quality Management (TQM) yang sudah ada dan didukung oleh empat orang dosen Magister Manajemen Pendidikan Islam Fakultas Ilmu Tarbiyah dan Kependidikan UIN Syarif Hidayatullah. Perbedaan dari penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya dimetodologi penelitian menggunakan grounded theory untuk menghasilkan teori manajemen strategi sekolah dasar Islam dan fokus pada kekuatan yang ada di sekolah dasar Islam. Thesis of the Islamic Education Management Master’s Program in the Faculty of Tarbiya and Education State Islamic University Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. The research objective is to find the theory of management strategies of Islamic elementary schools that have a sustainable competitive advantage in facing future environments that have the characteristics of VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguos) namely the state of society becoming increasingly dynamic, rapidly changing, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. Based on these objectives, this study is a qualitative study with a grounded theory approach. With a grounded theory approach, data is the inspiration of theory, then moves to form theories that explain data. Data collection is done by observation, interview, and documentation study. Data is analyzed by data reduction which summarizes, classifies, interprets, connects, and constructs generalizations of concepts that constitute theories. Then the presentation of data with the translation of meaning and drawing conclusions by reviewing the data and theories that have been built in the study are expressed along with other theories. Checking the validity of the data with triangulation of sources and techniques, namely the number of research sites, amounting to three, Budi Mulia Dua Islamic Elementary School Bintaro as the main research site, Al Azhar 15 Islamic Elementary School Pamulang and Cikal Harapan 1 Islamic Elementary School BSD as reinforcement of finding data. The findings of the research are the theory of Islamic elementary school strategy management is the ability to have a sustainable competitive advantage that can be achieved through friendly holistic service, integrated curriculum, facility excellence with innovation development that is carried out continuously to adapt to changing environments that are increasingly dynamic, fast-changing, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. Theory findings are in accordance with management strategies from an Islamic perspective, namely the goal of having a competitive advantage for the sustainability of schools and achieving nobler goals. The theoretical findings are supported by Edward Sallis's theory of Total Quality Management (TQM), Michael E. Porter's theory of generic strategies focusing on differentiation, and also the theories of Fred R. David and Forest R. David, namely competitive advantage is carried out with continuous innovation development. The findings of this theory also criticize Philip Kotler's theory because an Islamic elementary school is not a low-cost school. After all, the source of funding for an Islamic elementary school is done independently in school development. The theory of Islamic elementary school strategy management is already strong because it has been reviewed with the existing strategy management strategy and Total Quality Management (TQM) and is supported by four lecturers of Islamic Education Management Faculty of Tarbiya and Education State Islamic University Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. The difference from previous studies in the research methodology uses grounded theory to produce a theory of strategy management in Islamic elementary schools and focus on the strengths that exist in Islamic elementary schools.     From the Porous Spaces on the Bubble: The Life and Work of Japanese Expatriate Employees in Indonesia and their Relations with the Host Society Yukimi Shimoda B.A., M.A. This thesis is presented for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy of The University of Western Australia Discipline of Anthropology of Sociology School of Social and Cultural Studies 2011 ABSTRACT This is an ethnographic study of both geographical and spatial transnational ‘migrants’, namely, expatriate employees of transnational organisations/corporations, who work away from home countries for a limited period, and their relationships with host national colleagues who work alongside them in transnational office spaces. The central aims of this study are to explore the ways in which expatriate and host national employees work and interact with each other in and out of office spaces and to consider the influences and meanings of the movement of these people and their face-to-face interactions in our globalising societies. The dominant view in the existing social science literature is that ‘elite’, ‘cosmopolitan’ expatriate employees live in a ‘bubble’ cut off from the host societies. This ‘enclosed’ image of the ‘bubble’ sets up a strong contrast with the ‘openness’ that is often associated with their mobility. Meanwhile, in business studies, host national employees tend to be invisible and situated as subordinates to their superiors, namely expatriate employees. This study brings the lived experiences of both expatriate and host national employees into both the social sciences and business studies, shedding light on both constituencies in a balanced manner. This is also a relatively unique case study which focuses on Asian expatriate employees working in an Asian country.

Interesting because within the period of 15 years (1995-2011) seven Turkish schools have been established in five cities (Aceh, Jakarta, Banten, Vest Java, and Middle Java). Unlike other international schools which are mushrooming in Indonesia due to the free market policy demanding countries in the world to open their doors to global influence including in education, the presence of these Turkish schools have attracted Indonesian society. This can be seen by the interest of parents to educate their children in Turkish schools (for example, Pribadi Bilingual Boarding School in Depok has more than 300 students), despite their high tuition fees offered. In addition, the response of the Indonesian government has been very positive and supportive towards these Turkish schools efforts in contributing to the development of education in Indonesia. In connection with globalization, as stated by Benny H.Hoed, FIB-UI’s professor, this term demonstrates the entry process of northern influence to the south. In this context, the north refers to countries in the Europe (west) labeled as advanced countries; while the south refers to countries in the southern region, considered as developing countries including Indonesia & Turkey. From this viewpoint, the establishment of Turkish schools in Indonesia therefore raises a big question as to how a developing country as Turkey can build a strong educational system and furthermore spread throughout the world.
