Documents Police terrorism in the heart of capital and danger to my life. September 10, 2001 An appeal to the and Activists of the world.

1. I Gopal Gurung, President, Mongol National Organization, Publisher and Editor, New Light and Thunder bolt weeklies; Consultant and co-ordinator, Press Foundation of Asia – ; writer and novelist of more than 200 articles and a dozen of books, appeal to the and Amnesty International Activists of the world to save my life from the danger of inhuman atrocity and terrorism of police and the present policy of monarchial of Nepal which is prevailing on me since 1980 to till now ie 2001. 2. While my second edition of Hidden Facts in Nepalese Politics was published in 1988, I was arrested and sent to prison for unknown period under two charges of Treason Acts at a time. But due to keen interest taken by the Amnesty International as well as Human 2

Rights Activists I was released after three years. 3. Since September 7th Friday evening I am underground and facing a great trouble as well as danger of police atrocities. On that evening at about 5.30 PM police personnel went to my home with two police van and they took not only all copies of my book ‘In Quest of Mongol Entity and PhD on Mongol National Organization’ but kidnapped my sister also who was alone at home at that time. Fortunately, I was out of my home at that time of incident. Police personnel have kept my sister Ms Krishna Gurung as mortgage and they want my arrest. This above named book was published only a few months ago of the assassination of the royal family in which the letter written to late king Birendra on 15 December 1995 was also included. In that letter I had advised him to be a life President of the country and declare Nepal as a secular, provincial and republic country like that of . I had written a same type of letter to the new king Gyanendra also urging him for a life president and to consider Nepal a secular, provincial and republic country. 3

4. The present multi-party democratic government also is no better than the previous panchayati single party system that was existed for 30 long years (1960- 1990). The panchayati single party system had terrorized the citizens by us its racial policy and inhuman atrocity through the police force during its tenure and the same is being repeated now. I, therefore, request all the Human Rights as well as Amnesty International Activists to save me and my family members from this atrocity of His Majesty government and police personnel. Gopal Gurung

Sept. 22, 2005

Mr. Martin,

Mr. Mathew,

I intend to draw your valued attention on the following points.

1. Country like Nepal must be a) Republican b) Secularism and c) Province wise govt, like that of India. 2. Hindu kingdom as well as Hindu constitution is common grave to all non- indigenous (mulbasi) Mongol people; Budhist, Christian, Muslim Sikh and Jain at the same time so called constitution itself is communal. So called constitution is nothing but a tripartite agreement of palace, congress and so called UML. 3. In fact Hindus ( and Chetri) are only 20% and non-Hindu indigenous (Mulbasi) Mongol people are 80% but hindu rulers 5

have always show false data so do the Hindu (Bahun & Chetri) writers. 4. Because of the communal so called constitution Mongol National Organisation has not yet been recognised by the Election Commission. And the political situation is not very different than South Africa. 5. Hindu King is not the King of 80% non Hindu indigenous (Mulbasi) Mongol people and it is clear that he is the King of minority 20% Hindu Bahun (A Class Hindu) and Chetri (B Class Hindu). 6. All most all Maoist fighting soldiers are mulbasi (in digenous) Mongol people and they have utopian salvation because they are century old down trodden people. 7. 60% of the total land of Nepal is in the hand of 20 % A & B class (Bahun & Chetri) Hindu. More than 30% is forestry and 2 to 3% is rocky and snow covered; it mean hardly 7% land is in the hand of 80% people. 75-80% houses are in the hand of minority 20% 6

Hindus and 98% job in administration is occupied by 20% Hindu; that mean we the mulbasi (indigenous) are landless homeless and jobless. 8. We the Mulbasi (indigenous) non-Hindu Mongol people are made countryless and made like refugees in our own land. 9. After the publication of second edition of my book Hidden Facts in Nepalese Politics I was arrested in 1988 and thrown into the iron bar for three years and was released after the restoration of plural system. After the publication of my second political book titled; In Quest of Mongol Entity and Doctorate (Ph.D.) on MNO; police and administration terrorised me and I was compel to exile for more than a year in 2001. 10. Since 1980 I have been fighting for plural system in Nepal, Human rights, , republican system, secularism and province wise govt and we burned so called communal constitution four year ago (Nov. 8, 2001) on the occasion of constitution day and if necessary Mongol National 7

Organisation will not hesitate to take do or Perish step too.

Mongol National Organisation

Say ‘No democracy no loan. No human rights no donation’. An appeal to the loaner and donor countries of the world

March/21/2000 ......

On behalf of the Mongol National Organization (MNO) and myself; I the Founder President of this organization request you to the loaner and donor countries of the world and SARC countries. Please give pressure to the palace and it’s govt. for democratization in politics and give human rights at earliest 8 possible. And tell them to give up racial discrimination against mulbasi (indigenous) non- Hindu Mongol . Mulbasi (indigenous) doesn’t mean Adibasi (emigrants) and janjatese (gypsy, nomad). Adibasi and janjatese are not mulbasi (indigenous). Nepal’s real political battle is based not on ideology but on race and . The political battle of Nepal is based on Indo-Aryan Hindu Vs, non- hindu mulbasi (indigenous) Mongol. So, it makes not much difference with the system of despotic family shah rule, Rana family regime, system and multiparty system. Unless this country will have no republican, secularism and province wise government will continue. Republican, secularism and province wise government opens the first phase of democracy and human rights and it helps us to break racial discrimination. Hindu Aryan rulers are imperialist to this country. So, they can not even think for the rights and human rights of the mulbasi (indigenous) Mongol people in Nepal. This is an authentic prove since 1559 AD to update. In 1990, multiparty system restored and I went to the office of the election commission to submit application of MNO for recognize of Mongol NationalOrganization. But application was turned down. And I requested some foreign journalist about my problems, later I was called 9 on by some of the members of election commission and had a long chat with me. Then the official took my application 15 minutes before the office close. But Mongol National Organization (MNO) was not recognized only because of the name Mongol and I am a Budhist. I know it is absolutely not justice not only for me but also for all mulbasi (indigenous) Mongol people of Nepal and it is absolute violation of human rights and the political rights of our people introduced by united nation. Election commission used the article 113 (3) of so called constitution and it was used wrongfully and forcefully against me. In fact this sub article of the article can not be used to non- Hindus and Mongol, Budhist, Muslim, Christian, Sick and Jain are not Hindu. In fact this so called constitution is not constitution but tripartite agreement of palace baun chetri, congress baun chetri and communist baun chetri. In search of democracy and human rights; I spent another one decade since 1990 to 2000 but in vain. The following efforts of ten years are some of the burning examples and attitude of racist rulers of every where in this country. At last with my last hope as well as my last effort; I am before you loaner and donor country. As such are my efforts just before taking final decision of do or perish move and 10 bring forward declaration of arms movement or arms struggle for a holy battle for the salvation of century old suppression and oppression of racist Hindu Aryan imperialist on us. It will be first and last battle against invader; racist Hindu Aryan. In case of our victory, we will gain many things those were lost long ago; but if we lost the battle we will lose nothing except our life. I have left no stone unturned to restore our rights those are democracy and human rights but it is made crying in the wilderness. The following are my efforts in a decade and I have submitted here some documents about the meaning of Mulbasi (indigenous), Adibasi (emigrants), Janjatese (gypsy) and I have also attached here with some documents. It clears how the gypsies (Janjatese) are cheating outsideworld in the name of mulbasi (indigenous). What is the Janjatese (gypsy) conspiracy and population in Nepal and reason of cheating also are sent with this letter. As such are my efforts of one decade:- 1. After turning down recognize of Mongol National Organization (MNO); I went to Supreme Court for justice and human rights and spent five long years from single bench to review bench but in vain. I found every where is racial discrimination. 11

2. I went to the election twice thinking that my voice can be raised in the Parliament, which will be the mulbasi (indigenous) voice for justice and human rights. But in view of money power and political power and very poor thinking of grass roots I failed twice. Conspiracy against me was hunting me; just to make me desperate and frighten. The congress candidate through his hooligans spread rumor of my head was 10 million (one crore) rupees. Due to floating of congress money some of the ruffians took MNO flag from the mast and put congress flag at night. It was done so just to confuse my voters. A murderer was accompanied to congress candidate and his supporter and used him just to disturb my election campaign as well as mass meeting. The congress candidate gave useless and false assurance to the youth and said they will be sent to Arab country for job. Beside this kinds of filthy practice then Prime minister visited my constituency by helicopter just to give the people handsome assurance and hope. 3. The UML communist gangster campaign filthy role against me. They say me foreigner. It was like that of the role 12

played by BJP in India against MS Sonia Gandhi. What a pity, even the candidate and his education campaigner do not no the meaning of foreigner. In such a practice the hooligans of congress and UML communist attacked Mongol National Organization (MNO) candidates at Dolkha district and one of the candidates waskidnapped by congress hooligans from 11 AM to 7 PM and prevented him from being filling nomination. These are some of the burning examples of democracy as well as huaman rights to mulbasi (indigenous) in Nepal. 4. I have been fighting for democracy and human rights openly since 1980; by writing books, articles, through organizing and delivering speeches etc. I was arrested under treason act in 1988 and was sent to prison for three years and released after the restoration of multiparty system in 1990. 5. First phase of removing racism in Nepal this country should follow up policy of republican, secularism and province wise govt. Thus, I appealed to the king to remain life president and declare secularism and province wise govt in 1995. But no response yet. No Nepali 13

papers from Nepal give any news about MNO and myself. But some Indian English and paper published from India. I requested to two major parties leaders Mr. Girja Pd and late Mr. Man Mohan Adikari to put forward proposal of constitutional amendment so that MNO will be recognized. But the racist leaders were mum. 6. The HIndu king of Nepal is the emblem of racist, imperialist and family ruler like Rana. Nepal is made one of the poorest countries of the world from the time of single panchayat party system. Racial discrimination is deep rooted and corruption, nepotism, communalism is imposed from upward to down ward. More than 53% people are in below poverty level. That means more than 10 million (one crore) people are in below poverty level and they are mulbasi (indigenous) Mongol people. There is no power to control corruption, nepotism and racial discrimination because of vested interest of power politics. 7. A and B class Hindu Aryan are fighting for power and chair: I have been fighting for country, identity, justic, republican andsecularism country and province wise 14

govt and human rights. Janjatese (gypsy) are looking for merciful bread and bone from their boss of Rajastan. Status of janjatese in Hindu society is below the dog. Because they are ati sudra or sub caste. 8. There is no difference in race and religion between the king and people of other countries where as in Nepal is not such country. Here is a vast difference in Nepal between Mongol and Hindu Aryan. The political change of Nepal in 1951 was nothing but transference of ruling power from one despotic family ruler to another alike ruler. 9. All anti national ie race, religion, dress, flag, anthem, culture, calendar, language, script etc; are made national in Nepal and national are suppressed and everything belonging to them imposed forcefully to the mulbasi (indigenous) Mongol people. 10. Corruption and loan is at the peak of Mount Everest and democracy and human rights are at dead bed. Country is in mortgage but the grass roots have no idea about loan, donation and the root cause of their poverty. The few corrupt people are enjoying every facility. 15

11. Nepali king is the king of minority (20%) Hindu only. Democracy mean by the people of the people and for the people and secularism is one of the pillars of democracy. In Nepal king is neither by the people nor of the people nor for the people and it is a communal and racial Hindu kingdom. Hindu kingdom means a common graveyard to non-Hindu people. 12. I appeal to all the republican and secularism lover of the universe; loaner and donor countries and banks to allow my appeal and help my noble cause. 13. As I have mentioned above that my battle is for the country, identity, democracy, justice and human rights. Because we the mulbasi (indigenous) people are in grave danger and the article 4(1) of so called Hindu racial constitution has made us countryless like Jews people before 1948; near about five decades ago. Article 27(1) has reserved right to say Hindu Aryan but prevented us to say Mongol and article 113(3) is imposed upon non-Hindu people and stands barrier against our organization rights.

14. I am waiting a hope full and helpful response from the universal democrats 16

and human rights activists; especially from the loaner and donor countries. 15. Incase of not getting help for my noble cause than I will be bound to move forward with arms for a holy battle to get rid of the hell of racial as well as communal Hindu domination. Before this we may burn anti-national dress, constitution, flag, calendar and photographs etc. If it happens so, we will not be called terrorist but we will be fighting against the racist ruler and terrorism against us. Army may be moved either in civil dress or in army uniform. A hug budget spent for army every year and this army is kept not to resist any foreign invasion but to suppress own people.

Thanks Gopal Gurung Founder President Mongol National Organization, Kathmandu, Nepal.

Chapter 1 Mongolism in Nepalese Politics

What is Mongolism and why? We find three types of records of human community. In old days they were called Zapatize, Semetic, Hemetic, but nowadays they are termed as Mongoloid, Caucacious and Negroid. The Mongoloids were of yellow feature, the Caucacious were of white feature, and the Negroids were of black feature. The surrounding places of Shivalig Mountains were the original places of the Mongoloids. Those original places lie within the periphery of modern China, Nepal and India. The Aryans (who are also called Brahamins) had spread out from Caucacious mountains. The Caucacious Mountains lie between Caspian see and Black see, and they are in Russia these days. When the Haiti rulers invaded them before 19th century BC, a huge crowd of them fled from their original place and settled down in Iran for over four hundred years. Afterwards a branch of their race crossed Sindhu valley, plundering and terrorising others until they reached India. That was the history of 15th century BC. Thus, when they reached India in around three thousand and five hundred years ago, they were 18 known as plunderers and terrorists. At that time, a great local Chettry personality had helped them and given them shelter, whose name they still revere as their god and call him . The used to celebrate on their loot and burn the leftover grains; that sort of practice was their Home (fire worship) and Om. They still burn grains with butter. They commemorate the names of their principle deities, Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh in Om symbol. These gods had comprehensively played vital roles in destruction of the indigenous Mongols. If you turn up the front face of Om, its trident feature becomes distinct, which symbolises three afflictions. In course of time, they plundered everywhere encroaching every vulnerable corner of India, and destroyed the heritage and civilization of Harappa and Mohenjodaro. With their arrival in , caste-system became rampant. However, Sidaha (Sidartha) opposed such caste division and discrimination in society. Eventually Sidaha was expelled from his native land. After his expulsion, Sidaha meditated on social disharmony. He wanted to find out truth before taking any initiative against it. As a result of his sacrifice and austerity, he became „Buddha‟ known to the world today as „Lord Buddha‟. But the Hindu Aryans, specially the Brahmins are spreading some fabricating stories 19 against Buddha, talking nonsense about the existence of one more Buddha long before his period. Buddha was an atheist, and I revere him and worship him. Buddha never talked about rebirth, nor did he believe in the existence of previous life. For Buddha, one‟s childhood stage itself was a birth, similarly youth stage was a birth, and an old age before death was another birth. Buddha loved equality, fraternity and freedom, and he was committed to spread this belief throughout his life. The Aryans did not like his teaching, because they believed in a chain of one‟s life events, which were previous past life, present life and the next life to come. They believed, the present life was a consequence or result of previous past life. And one had to earn merit either for betterment of next birth and life, or for the attainment of heaven. Such religious practice and the question of heaven and hell that aggravated fear in common people was a means of mass exploitation and extortion in name of religion. They cheated gullible people and imposed communal disharmony on non-hindu people of India and Nepal as well. Those unfortunate poor people became like slaves under the yoke of their racial tradition and rule. That is why our peopole are still poor and helpless, because the political rein is not in their own hand. It is obvious that the one with political rein in hand, controles the policy of the state, and he has the power to manipulate army and 20 police force, for his own racial men are in the ruling chairs of administration. The Hindu Aryans are in power for over thousand years in India. Similarly they are in power in Nepal for about five hundred years, and they have inflicted deformities in Buddhist religion. The Buddhist people followed them and bowed down their heads to the Hindu kings touching their feet. This indiscreet practice further ruined the oldest Buddhist religion. Because of the begging attitude of the Hindu masters, the good name of the Buddhist religion was stigmatised, and this was a grave insult to Lord Budha. Nowadays, books and casettes in Buddha‟s name are distributed from Taiwan with a Hindu mark of swastika (trident) on the picture of Buddha. This swastika is the arbitrary symbol of Hitler. This was a conspiracy hetched in Nepal by a certain group, who falsely claimed theselves as Buddhists in order to destroy the identity of Buddhist religion. The followers of Mahayana consider themselves superior to Hinayana. Such injurious conception has vitiated much of the religious credentials and its glorious history. That was due to the direct influence of . Such racial discrimination was actually contrary to . Hinduism was the product of Varnaasram, which is the cradle of racial discrimination, and classification of caste system. This racial discrimination was between Aryans, who had migrated to India from outside, and the indigenous people of India. This may be interpreted 21 in terms of colour discrimination, because these two people differ in colour too. Every aspect of their life, such as political, social, cultural aspects of the two groups are different. In my openion, the idea of non- violence was psychologically imposed on Buddhists by the rulers, so that the Hindus could get victory over them without much physical resistence of the religious minded people. According to the record of Shanker Digvijai, once all Buddhist people from Kanyakumari to the coastle line of South India were sought and slain indiscriminately. Death penalty was announced by the local king after the consultation with some Brahamins, who were always hetching conspiracy to destroy Buddhist religion, and at the same time they were conspiring to ensure aggresive enhancement of Hinduism and their discriminatory culture. Those Buddhist countries which are not yet infiltrated by Hinduism, there is no any discriminatory problem of Mahayana and Hinayana. Recently NK Goyanka (marwari) has initiated Bipasana movement, that has shown intriguing motive against Buddhist followers. This sort of motive was already depicted and manifested in their great epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata. Prithivinarayan Shah had initiated the movement of Hinduism depicting Nepal as a true Hindusthan. The Rana rulers plundered the Buddhist bihars and hindunised them one after the other, just as the Buddhist and bihars of India were 22 captured by Hindu rulers, and at the same time, they claimed the birth place of Krishna transforming those Buddhist places as their holy places. During Rana period in Nepal, the Buddhist teachers were banished, and their disciples were put behind bars, because they were considered as traitors. Even today the Buddhist scriptures and precious objects are stolen mysteriously, but the culprits go scotfree. A huge amount of money is spent for any Hindu like Pasupatinath temple, but not a single penny is alloted for any Buddhist temple. Ironically they get clean cheat even in the serious case of embegglement of Lumbini development fund, that was raised through foreign aids. No one can dare to challange to those impostors who enjoy their corruption with impunity. The excavation of Ayodhya has proved the existence of Buddhist statues and the evidence of other relics; even the Babari masjid was a place of Buddhist temple. Many religious areas of India were areas of Buddhist temples captured by Aryans in course of time. This was the result of amalgamation of non-violence movement in Buddhism, and the complacent attitude of the followers. Rather they should have followed this non-violence policy prudently, and at the same time with retaliation to the aggressive intruders. The Mongol people of Nepal used to eat cow meat. The Limbus of East Nepal had paid tax for it. The Rais had got their community title from the king. 23

Hindu kings had forbidden them to eat beef meat. King Girwan Yudha had forbidden the Gurungs (Tamu) of Western Nepal, and had introduced buff meat instead of beef. Rajendra Bikram Shah disallowed the traditional custom of their Lama Buddhist priest, and eventually made them to bow and touch the feet of Brahamin priests. Near Taplejung bazar there are three standing poles in a village, one is seven feet tall, and two of them are about three feet high; which were used for slaughtering cows, bulls and calves. There are ruins of a monastry and an old palace of a certain Buddhist ruler. The Mongoloid people of Nepal are called „Bhote‟ by the Aryan people, because the mongoloid people belong to the Tibeto-burman language. Unlike the people of , the indigenous people of Nepal feel humiliated, when they are called „Bhote‟ by others. This is because of slave mentality after their hindunisation. There are only two languages and two classes (barna). The two languages are – Tibeto-burman language and Indo Aryan language. And the two classes (barnas) are – Mongoloid barna and Aryan barna(colour). Prithivinarayan Shah was an antinational ruler and advocated for Hindusthan. He was really an imperialist, who did knew little about barna. But the real pillers of the Hindu kings were the Brahamins, who were hindunising every aspects of the indigenous people, by destroying their tribal rules, 24 economy, religion and custom; and by snatching away their land and property rendering them landless and homeless. Those wily feudal rulers and the hindu priests maintained mutual solidarity by putting away their mutual disaggrements in order to suppress other indigenous people, and they followed the policy of appeasement, allurement, punishment and discrimination against other people. They managed to get through by any means, because they had already captured the power of army, police force, administration, commerce, property and land from our people; who had become like toothless tigers and landless peasants, and who were not aware of their terrible plight. In such a situation the MNO‟s struggle looks like embroiled, but nothing is impossible, and changes will take place. We just need determination, sacrifice and courage. From the time of king Mahendra, the aboriginal people of Nepal were degraded as Sudras and were made stateless. Even non-hindu Buddhists, Christians, , Sikhs and Jains were deprived of their rights, because Nepal was declared as a Hindu nation. The Hindu Aryans were once refugees and outsiders, but they became masters of our fate. At Mahendra‟s time, Dilmansing Thapa and Padma Sunder Lawati were degraded as Sudras, the lowest tier of the caste system. Those two became loyal servants of their Hindu masters, and they served their 25

Hindu masters subserviently just like a dog does to its master. There is a semi literate group formed recently, who are not as literate as Dilmansing Thapa and Padmasunder Lawati, and they introduce themselves as „Janjaati‟ and serve their party leaders, all and Chettries, the migrants of yesterday. There is a Chinese saying about the polar bear. It is believed, a polar bear has its prestige and place as long as it is on its snow land. It looses its esteem when it abandons its own land. Similarly the ancestors of Hindus migrated here, and they introduced their discriminatory caste system among our people. The untouchable „Janjaati‟ castes like Smith, cobbler, tailor, bard etc. belong to the lowest tier of the four Hindu castes (they are Bahun, Chettry, Baisya and Sudra). Surprisingly the Sudras and the two high castes have similar caste titles and subtitles. On the other hand, the lifestyle of Janjaati people is similar to that of non hindu local people. Actually the Janjaati slaves of migrating Ranas were mixed up with local indigenous people, and eventually those slaves forgot their original place, they forgot their ancestral history. For quite a long time, those untouchable people never indentified themselves as Janjaati, untill pro palace and communist groups hatched a derogatory propaganda during their Gorakhpur convention. Suresh Ale Magar and a communist leader Mohan Bikram Singh intensified 26 this publicity in Nepal through different means of media, like radio, TV, newspapers and other periodicals. Our protest is not against their Janjaati identity, but they are falsely and jointly projecting our indegenious identity in front of international community. They are trying to mislead the international community by projecting us as Janjaati. Rather it would be more logical and fitting, if the untouchable Janjaatis are identified equal to high castes like Bahun and Chettry; because they have same caste titles and subtitles, same religion and rituals, same culture and creed. Do the untouchable castes have guts to claim this decorum ? There is a conspiratory propaganda at the use of the word „‟, that was propagated by a communist party during their Biratnagar convention. In a treaty of pro-palace, Communist and Congress groups, of course Bahun and Chettry groups, the word „Tribal‟ was translated „Janjaati‟ in . Since Bahun and Chettry are of Aryan origin and they have many racial groups, they too are „Janjaati‟ in true sense. But only their untouchable castes are termed as „Janjaati‟, who are landless poor people. But unfortunately even our literate people are accepting this dehumanising „Janjaati‟ title. According to caste system, the head of Hinduism is a Bahun, its protector or guard is a Chettry, and other two lower 27 castes are considered as the bastard offsprings or their descendants. The high caste leaders are fighting among themselves for the chair or posts, and accumulating unlimited illegal wealth through corruption, extortion and conspiracy. But the lower grade followers of the party are serving their racial leaders as devout Hanuman, even at the cost of their life. On the other hand, the MNO is fighting for the freedom of the unfortunate people who have neither a proper shelter nor any means of livelihood. The indigenous nonhindu people are being exploited in all respects, and they are to be freed from that vicious circle of bondages. They were suppressed mercilessly for ages and ages, and the struggle for the upliftment of such suppressed classes is not that smooth, because they are fallen into a deep slumber for many centuries; and you have to fight back the barriers of their poverty, ignorance, deficiency and illiteracy. Ironically they are not aware of their ignominious defeat and failure. So the MNO has taken steps to awaken them; so that the coming generations may see a glimmer of light with a guarantee of bright future. This unwavering fight has been waged with determination and vigour. It is not shaky any more. At the same time the counterpart racial groups are well equipped politically, economically and educationally; and are frantically reacting as the remnants of feudalism, who are misleading our 28 people creating discord and animosity among our members for their selfish motive. It is in their innate nature, that was inherited from their racial masters like Kautillya, Chanakya, Manu Smriti and other great Hindu epic figures. They learn such discriminatory quotes and mantras from Veda, Purana and other scriptures. That is why the refugees who had come empty handed without any weapons, could manage to sack our land in course of time. Similarly the white people who had come with their religion and sacked South Africa, saw their decline after 350 years of their reign; and similar cases happeded after 100 years in Rodessia, and after 500 years in Bolivia respectively. Although the outsiders plundered those nations, they could not last for ever. It was clear that money and power were not everything for the survival of the despotic rulers. If the Mongol people stand up with courage against the refugees, they are sure to have victory over the arbitrary rulers. The struggle waged by the MNO is for its future generations; because at present our people have become like refugees in their own ancestral land, and they are displaced in different foreign countries, either as mercineries or as cheap labourers, who are compelled to leave their own country for their livelihood. In whatever jobs they are engaged inside or outside, all of them are entreated to contemplate with retrospection for the sake of our 29 own common entity; or at least for the future of our coming generations; Let us try to materialise the plans of our freedom fight initially in a peaceful manner. But if our peaceful manoeuvre fails due to undue pressure of the rulers, then obviously we will be compelled to take resort to strike action even to the extent of using weapons. We can predict even now that, the final victory is in our favour. But we need to be steady and united in our struggle. The Hindu rulers have refuted and denied the Mongol identity of the indigenous people, and have discarded the registration right of the Mongol National Organisation (MNO). Our people have to come up in election as candidates, as indipendent candidates or under any party banner, so that we may capture the house unitedly. Then only the despotic rulers will be compelled to acknowledge our party identity. The parties of and Sunyat Sen were barred and not allowed to be registered in their initial stages. But in course of time both leaders became presidents after a long struggle. So all our people need to come forward without being mislead by other racial exploiters. Let not our future generations point out our present stupidity and complacency. This is what I mean a sort of evolutionary initial step or theory. There is also another way out, which is drastic in nature, and that is arms revolutionary theory. Our ex-armies may play vital role in this gruesome endeavour, for they were exploited for many generations. Out of seven million ex-armies, 30 one million heads will suffice to carry out the revolutionary fight. They are already well trained; so they need just right weapons. Till now they are surviving at the mercy of others, because whole gamut of government oppertunities from the lowest post of a peon to the highest post of prime minister are captured by high caste racial people, rendering our indigenous people jobless and helpless in a vicious circle of unemployment and misery. Bishwa Hindu Parishad (BHP) has launched a programme of giving training to Hindu youth of different places. But the number of our people is much more, even in India the indigenous people outnumber them. In one time, in 26 villages of , the local youth looted the properties of the racial people and vandalised their shrines, but they never disturbed the indigenous people. Similar events took place in . Those who were propagating Hinduism and racial discriminatory culture with a concept of greater Nepal, were eventually expelled out and their blind followers too had to leave the country. These facts came to my knowledge, when I visited the refugee camps and enquired about their expulsion from Bhutan. After all, who had made our fore fathers to migrate in different parts of India? Why the descendants of our fore fathers are compelled to do all sorts of unsafe manual jobs over there? They are 31 working in tea gardans, coal mines and jungles of , Doors, Assam and other places. Now the time has come to think it over seriously, how the racial rulers exploited our people classyfying us according to their racial discriminatory policy. The caste system of the Hindus is the political system in Nepal. The Shah dynesty exploited us for centuries. Those Shahs, Ranas and Bahuns who migrated here from Chitaur ruled over us indiscreetly. Our people have to realise this history, and have to speak out and act authentically without fear, because the guarantee of future is our victory. It may take time but does not look bleak. I know this sort of opposing or revolting language will create ripples among the ruling classes, and such arguments are easily countered with racial unanimity, putting aside their mutual differences. Once a certain writer named Chitraraj Upadhaya of Ramechap, had written, „Mongoloid people are the descendants of demon.‟ He should have known that, in early ages, the descendants of demon used to eat beef meat and the meat of the human skull (kaatto). Their great teacher Basistha recommended the meat of young calf, cooked with butter, if you wanted to make your son intelligent. Even their kings provided them beef after slaughtering bulls every day. Once the bulls for ploughing fields were scarce in the kingdom, they stopped this practice of slaughtering the husbands of their mother cows for further consumption. Somras 32 or madhuparka was their liquor for drink, and the beautiful fairy mentioned in their sastra was one of the prostitutes. There is a striking similarity in the their racial discendants so far the demons are mentioned in his article. They believe, the world is at the hand of god, the god is under the control of „mantra‟, and the „mantra‟ is at the hand of a Brahamin. So the world is at the hand of a Brahamin, or it belongs to him. A Brahamin is born to rule over the world, and others are subjugated to the wishes of their racial master. Others are doomed to serve the self proclaimed master. They thought they had licence to confiscate the properties of others with impunity, and plundered indigenous fore-fathers, or other people of India and Nepal. That was an age of „mantra‟ or word, now it is the age of „yantra‟ or weapons. Those who carried down a tradition of offering milk to stones, and giving „som-ras‟ wine to men, managed to contrive such ways, where our gullible people continued fighting for the vested interests of the wily rulers letting them to enjoy the harvest; and consequently our fore-fathers became landless peasants. The racial rulers and masters became the feudal lordes. Those racial people talk loudly about the political change of 1951 AD, in Nepal, which was actually not a big revolutionary change, because that historical event was only a transfer of power from 33

Rana rulers to Shah rulers, who had nuptial relation for ages. After the reign of Rana rulers in Nepal, the Shah rulers came in power, because the political and economic power was transfered in their hand. Both dynesties are from Chitaur or Rajasthan. In the same way, the independence of India was also a transfer of power from one white Aryan people to another localised Aryan people. The indigenous people did not realise it at that political juncture. Most of our indigenous people of Nepal haven‟t realised this fact yet, even after half a century of socalled independence. The racial interest is the main interest of Bahun Aryans, who can accomplish any atrocity for selfish motive. The most precious diamond „Kohinoor‟ was secretly presented to the Bristish Governor Lord Welessi by a Brahamin priest of Jaganathpuri, it was a bribery case. From 1911 to 1965 AD, 24,28,575 indigenous people (mostly of Gurung, Magar, Rai, Limbu and Tamang communities) were killed in different battles and countries. Those killed during Nalapani battle against British India, and Nepal unification period are not counted and included in this figure. Even during the time of king Mahendra, his high caste armies were sent to different rural areas and innocent Gurung, Magar, Rai and were killed after they were told to dig their own common graves. 34

But soon later, the relatives of the deceased members approached the palace to salute the king, and they are still serving their masters being entangled in some minor posts and jobs for a handful monetary benefit. As the racial masters captured our fertile land, our people were compelled to survive under poverty line. Even our literate people are acting foolishly by following and serving the racial political parties. They do not even try to comprehend why and how they are being exploited. Thus they have made us equal to poor refugees on our own land. We are compelled to live at the mercy of racial masters. We have lost our ancestral entity. If we are living an unsafe life, what would be the future of our coming generations? Why don‟t we take it seriously? The racial rulers have projected a false picture of Nepal, and they have presented themselves as a nation by showing a false census of Hindu majority in Nepal, and have arbitrarily claimed it as a Hindu nation. The real picture of non-hindu indigenous people is being distorted and published outside the world. The untouchable castes and „Janjaatis‟, because of being laid trampled incessantly underfeet of their racial high caste masters, are unaware of their tragic condition. Even their literate figures are not fully aware of their dehumanised social status. The untouchable „Janjaatis‟ are not aboriginal people 35 of this land. People of all races and tribes are intermingled in such a way that they unknowingly worship the imported Hindu deities, whose pictures depict goddesses devouring human flash and drinking human blood. They blindly sacrifice animals and pray to those violent Hindu deities, but their wishes are never fulfilled. Rather those wily priests of the shrine get fatter; and their children get better education with that earning. This tradition and exploitation has been continued for centuries. Our indigenous people have never tried to realise it, because they blindly salute those racial masters and obsequiously touch their feet. Such practice was introduced since the time of Aryan invasion in India. They invaded India plundering everything whatever was on their way of advancement. They burnt all leftover grains, and the practice of burnt offering (Hom) was developed among them. Later, the devoted people began to bow down and touch the feet of the Brahamin priests presenting their offerings to the priests, who increased the number of rituals burning grains and ghee (butter). The poor people never realised how they were deprived of their food grains and property. The priests utter a word „swahaa....!‟ while pouring ghee or butter in the sacrificial fire, and it signifies destruction or annihilation. Our forefathers and other people never realised its meaning implied in their own context. Whatever was taught to our society and communities by the racial priests, our people followed blindly 36 without ever questioning the root causes of our poverty, backwardness, social disparity and other innumerous anomalies? Consequently they were forced to serve their religious and feudal racial masters of high castes, always being economically bankrupt under the heavy yoke of their immediate religious and feudal masters. The feudal Hindu Aryans had come to Nepal from Indian territory. They were afraid of Mugol rulers of India and took shelter in Nepal as refugees. The Bahuns came from Kumai, Garwal, Kashi Banaras. The Shah and Rana imperialists came from Chitaur Mewar. Kumais are from Kumau, and Gyawalies are from Garwal. The „Janjaatis‟ were the porters and servants of Shah and Rana masters; and they came to Nepal with their masters carrying their belongings. The untouchable castes like , , and Gainay were the lowest castes, and they were always in close contact with higher castes like Bahuns and Chettries. So there is much similarity at the classification of their subcastes. The „Janjaatis‟ were serving Ranas, who were their masters at the time of their migration. Later on, they mingled freely with local indigenous people and began to assist them in their farming and cattle raising works. In course of time their social behaviour and customs were assimilated into mainstream indigenous social behaviour and customs. When the ancestors of Prithivinarayan Shah 37 were chased away from Chitour, they were roaming over the plains of India, and finally settled down in Bhirkot, an area of Magar community in 1495. After 64 years of their settlement, the Shah refugees captured the hilly kingdom of Magar community and Gurung community, and then, established the custom of putting red „tikaa‟ on their forehead. White „tikaa‟ was a sign of peacae, and the red one was a sign of blood and victory. Through conspiracy the racial Hindu rulers uprooted us. Following two Bahuns had initially contributed to lay foundation of Hinduism in Nepal. They were Ganesh Panday and Narayan Aryal, in whose master plan; Drabya Shah played a vital role. The racial Bahun and Chettry army of Drabya Shah surrounded the villages of Magar community at the cover of dark night; and Drabya Shah went to meet Ghalay king at Gorkha darbar. When the Ghalay king came down of his darbar to meet the visitor, Drabya Shah who was hiding at a dark corner outside the door, and he suddenly attacked the king and chopped off his head, and captured the palace without much confrontation. When the news of assessination of Ghalay king and the sudden capture of the palace reached to the people of Magar and Gurung villages, the racial high caste army came out from their hiding places and confronted them with arms and weapons. In such an unexpected critical situation, there was no alternative for the indigenous 38 local people except the last resort of peace treaty. So the astounded local people came out of their houses putting white „tikaa‟ on their foreheads. This mixture of white curd and rice when pested on one‟s forehead was a sign of peace. But this sign of peace was not acceptable to the racial Bahun and Chettry attackers. Instead they mixed red blood in it and took more offensive step against the hapless native people. So most of the people of Ghalay community escaped from such violent scene and left their village. The descendants of this community are still found in Manang district, and they have preserved their Buddhist religion and culture over there. But those unfortunate ones who were left behind in Gorkha were hindunised by the racial rulers. After the fall of Ghalay kingdom, a dark period of Gurung community started under the direct influence of the despotic Hindu rulers, who continued the use of red „tikaa‟. Gradually the land of Nepal fell into the hands of imperialist Hindu rulers one after the other, and the red colour was institutionalised as an auspicious colour for the racial rulers. That was a symbolic sign of decline of our native religion, culture and tradition. During the festival of , the vogue of red „tikaa‟ symbolised the victory of Hindu Aryans over the indigenous mongoloid people. The Buddhist women who followed the rulers‟ religion and culture and celebrated Dashain festival with them in red attire 39 and red sindur, they seemed to be unaware of their own slave mentality. Actually white „tikaa‟ signifies peace message of Buddha, and a white dove is released on peace day under the banner of UNO. The MNO has innovated a new practice of putting black „tikaa‟ on the forehead on the occasion of Vijaya Dasami; because that was a black day in the history of indigenous people. Simililarly the sign of swastika is the sign of imperialist rulers, and Hitler was one of them. The MNO strongly refutes the celebration of Dasain „tikaa‟ and Tihaar; because Hindu goddess Laxmi and goddess Saraswati are seducing our innocent people into false fantasy and allurement. We have to set free our coming generations from the bondage of such inducement. Laxmi and Saraswati were the daughters of Brahama and his consorts as well. If Saraswati were a goddess of knowledge, those high caste people would not have sent their children to foreign countries for further study and education. Similarly they would not crave to hustle their umemployed youth away for all sort of manual jobs and other oppertunities in foreign countries, where their goddesses are not worshiped at all. They used to call „mleksha‟ to the white people of western countries, and they despised them for long. The one degraded from the highest level of caste system was called Chettry, who was second to 40 a Brahamin in their caste system. Both of them have similar subcastes. Some Chettries have earned their sub castes or titles as a reward from their racial masters, such as, Thapa, Khadka, Basnet, Karki etc. Similarly some outsiders too have earned their sub castes as a reward from their masters, such as, Thapa Magar, Basnet Gurung etc. Actually Nepal was a Buddhist country, and it suffered a severe setback at the hands of the Hindu imperial rulers. The image of Buddhism was distorted in couse of time. Ravana was a Buddhist emperor, who was as intelligent and brave as ten other rulers in one person. But he was depicted as a huge demon with ten ugly heads; and in contrast, a lean and thin Aryan prince was eulogised with extravagant praise, an incredible myth in itself. The motive of this epic was to instil a sense of despise towards Ravana, and at the same time to spread a religion of hero worship of an Aryan hero as a suprime deity among the people of other faith. So we have to augment by restablishing the mislead personality of Ravana and have to pay due respect or homage to him in near future, for he was a Buddhist hero and he was an extraordinarily intelligent and brave ruler. Hinduism itself is not a religion; it is only an „ism‟. It was termed Hindu religion only since 1928 by the Brahamins. Nepal it self was not a Hindu country, it was a Buddhist country. At that time there was no caste system and discrimination or class 41 division among the people. There was no disparity and hatred. The Buddhists still follow lunar calendar and observe „Losar‟ festival according to this calendar. The moon depicted in Nepali flag was the evidence of Chandrabansi Buddhists in Nepal. Prithivinarayan Shah was not a figure of national unity; he was a Hindu imperialist ruler. He treated discriminately to other and languages. There was no religious equality during his reign. He was a staunch Hindu ruler, but the social status of a Bahun was higher than that of a Chettry king. So the Sanskrit language of the Brahamins got the topmost priority and a seperate budget was alloted for its teaching and development. They had budget for their media and schools. This budget was alloted from the nation‟s coffers. The government sanctioned six million rupees for a number of ninty one Bahun students of a certain Sanskrit hostel located in Kathmandu, whereas a large number of lower caste untouchable students got only a meagre aid of forty five thousand rupees. Sanskrit language is no more spoken, already in moribund stage. But there is still government fund and provision for Sanskrit college and university. The non-hindu people of Nepal are predominantly indegenous people, and they are a nation. Their language is the national language; their religion is the national religion. If a national religion 42 is to be proclaimed it must be Buddhist religion, and no more a Hindu religion. Nepal is not a Hindu nation. Or else, it must be declared as , irrespective of creed and religion. If a calendar is to be acknowledged publicly, it must be a Buddhist calendar, or else, the international calendar must be brought into national use, and not any Bikram sambat calendar. I had brought forward this issue in my book „Hidden Facts in Nepalese Politics‟, that was published in 1985 AD. At that time I was jailed in charge of high treason against the established authority. The code of national dress should not be imposed on all. The national language of Nepal is Nepali, but besides Nepali language, other languages such as Hindi and English should be considered Lingua franca for pragmatic reason of communicating between the people of different areas in which several languages are spoken more commonly. During Panchayat period I had published an article on this issue, and Devbahadur KC of Dang district raised a voice of protest in the house and demanded a strong punitive action against me and my paper „Newlight Weekly‟. Even the national paper Gorkhapatra carried this news the next day, and I had to respond it in my editorial. Purnaprasad Brahamin tried to stop the publication of Newlight weekly, by paying extra sum of money to the press. He gave open public speech against me in New Road area. But our indigenous leaders had no courage to raise voice on such a national issue either in the 43 affiliated party or outside the party. Our coming generation will surely question the compromising stance of the obsequious followers of the racial parties; because they have accepted the dominance of the Hindu masters losing their entity at the feet of their racial master. Not only Janjaaties, others too have fallen down to their feet. The Janjaaties who have accepted the lowest social status of the caste system have taken advantage to cheat the indigenous fund in our name and have tarnished our identity. Nowadays they are raising voice for democracy and republic. Their racial upper caste leaders were forced to borow this revolutionary slogan at the end of 2005 AD. During „Losar‟ festival Sherpa Janjaati, Tamang Janjaati, Gurung Janjaati, actively collected contributions in the name of indigenous people; but they never came forward to raise their voice for secular state either in the parliament house or on the street, until their racial upper caste masters raised this issue under the pressure of the Maoists. Those Janjaati people were always occuped in celebrating among themselves putting on red-tikaa, sindur and potay, imposed by the Hindu custom without realising their own downfall. What a sorry plight of an unaware nation it was. It took me a quarter of century to recognise a sleeping people of Nepal. I travelled hills and plains to study their unwritten history comprehensively. When I was teaching in an impoverished school in 44

Ilam district, I was invited to attend a wedding ceremony along with my Bahun collegue of the same school. But I was not allowed to sit with the Bahun teacher at the same dining hall. The reason was, they said to me, “You are a teacher, because of your qualification, but after all a Sudra at the sight of the Brahamin.” I left the wedding feast immediately. The bridegroom was my student, and his name was Yamprasad Acharya. Actually „acharya‟ means an educational degree equivalent to a doctorate. But this fellow was an „acharya‟ by birth. Probably he could be a descendant of Dronacharya of Mahabharat epic. Such fortunate Bahun could become chief minister of Sikkim without acquiring adequate qualification; as Pawan Chamling could acquire a doctorate title mysteriously. In 1953, I was appointed as a teacher in a remotest village of Myagdi district. After a week long walk from Butwal, I reached there in Rakhu village, a village predominantly inhabitated by Malla . All other people of the locality had to salute the Malla Thakuries in each encounter with a greeting „jadau‟, which meant „hail god!‟ because they considered themselves as the descendants of god, and they thought they were destined to rule over others. While staying in the same village one day I went down to a water spring, in order to take bath 45 there. A certain village lady came with her pitcher. But she refused to come close to the water spring, because she thought, her shadow would defile my dirty cloths lying there under the spring. She said the village upper caste masters would punish her if she dared to defile my dirty cloths. Later I came to know how the poor people were made untouchable on caste basis. I bitterly resented their caste system and began to teach revolutionary songs to my students. I began to realize the discrimination rendered to Gorkha armies who had served in India. A Thakuri armyman could get the post of a captain, but other non Thakuri Gorkha armies never could cross the post of „hawaldar‟, because that was the ceiling imposed on them according to the agreement of the government. Thus the upper caste people had upper hand inside and outside the country. Dozens of our Gorkha armies got Victoria cross during the first and second world wars for their unique valour. But I think that achivement was meaningless at the context of our social disparity, which had remained unsolved for centuries. In Khambuwan battle, two Bahuns, Harinanda Pokhrel and Trilochan Pokhrel had secretly helped Prithivinarayan Shah to launch an attack on Khambuwan. These two treacherous local agents hetched a conspiracy in spying against Khambuwan and sent secret message and financial contribution to Prithivinarayan Shah. The enemy could attack 46 through a secrete way with the help of the spy. Prithivinarayan Shah, who had mercilessly cut off noses and ears of the people of Kirtipur of all ages, had sent a spy group to Khumbuwan under the leadership of a Basnet spy, at whose instigation, the Bahuns and Chettries of Khumbuwan were brought under their side and command. Khumbuwan was a Kirat area and it was called central Kirat, that was on the western side of Arun river. The other side of it was called . Arun river was in between of these two hilly kingdoms. The Bahun and Chettry army followed the strategy of Drabya Shah, who had attacked Magar and Gurung kingdoms at the cover of dark night. They followed the same strategy and planned to attack at night time. The racial army of the invaders was led by Amarsing Thapa and Ramkrishna Thapa, who ethnically belonged to Magar community, but were hindunised at the service of the conqueror. And many Magar and Gurung fighters were enrolled in the racial army of the Hindu king. The Khumbu people displayed great valour and refused to surrender. Similarly the people of Limbuwan also fought back bravely without raising any question of surrender. Later their fight ended in a treaty. Ramkrishna Kunwar had sent a report of the fighting how their racial army had slaughtered the Khumbu people and had thrown hundreds of them alive into the Arun river. Many of them migrated to further east and settled in Sikkim. One of their descendants is Pawan Chamling, who is 47 serving the high caste masters in subservient manner in order to fulfill his vested interest. His policy of appeasement reflects his innermost cowardice in not coming forward to support his own indigenous people, but supporting his racial masters of high caste. Otherwise he would not have sanctioned millions of rupees for a hydro project at Rathong, that could have a devastating effect on a Buddhist region and religion. The Buddhists had to deplore it internationally, and it was stopped eventually. At present in his initiation, a statue is erected in honour of Bhanubhakta Acharya, where he pays homage on every occasion and social event. To fall at the feet of their lifeless statue is his innate subservient nature and deep rooted cowardice. My book, „Hidden Facts in Nepalese Politics‟ was published at the time of CM Bhandari, who had raised voice against me and Chamling through a spate of articles published in different papers, because this book had created a new wave of awareness in local people. He had termed the MNO as a communal organisation in order to save his racial discriminatory face. Later Pawan Chamling came to power in Sikkim after the fall of Bhandary; and Bhandary had disclosed his reaction. He said, „Chamling is only an acting Chief Minister, who is controlled by Gopal Gurung. Therefore, Chamling may not last even for six months‟. And Pawan Chamling himself declared in his open speech in 48

Namchi on 19th Sep. 1992, “When I was expelled from the party, Bhandary accused me of my affiliation to the MNO, guided by Gopal Gurung from Kathmandu.” Chamling got hold of the book „Hidden Facts in Nepalese Politics‟ and waving it in his hand to the public, he had said, “Bhandari accused me that, this is the guide book of Chamling, who is trying to establish a greater Mongolian kingdom with the help of Subash Ghising of Darjeeling.” But when Chamling came to power in Sikkim, he readily accepted the untouchable Janjaati status and secretly started a movement of spreading articles and booklets against me and Mongolism; demonstrating himself as an image of ingratitude just to please his high caste master, because he was being prompted by secret agents sent by the palace of Nepal. Chamling forgot the history, how the royal ancestors of Nepal had expelled them out of their ancestral land. Instead of feeling a sense of digust toward the past events, he blindly fell at their racial feet and served them at the void of self respect. Bhandari also had followed the instructions of his racial masters, and eventually that was the reason of his downfall. Nowadays Pawan Chamling also is following the same steps. The Bahuns have initiated a movement of erecting statues of Bhanu Bhakta in different parts of Nepal and India, so that the people of other clans too may bow down to those statues. The Chief Minister 49 of Sikkim and some devotee Bahuns of Darjeeling are active in this movement. In fact, Bhanu Bhakta was a translator rather than a poet. How many poems did he write against anti social problems or issues? There is no poet as great as Laxmi Prasad Devkota in Nepal and Nepali literature. Bal Krishna Sam failed to tie wedding bond of Gauri and Santay in his „Chiso Chulo‟ epic, because he himself was from an aristocrat family and could not accept the union with an untouchable commoner. Bhanu Bhakta was regarded as a great poet by the racial rulers, because he translated the epic Ramayana, and presented an Aryan hero and an Aryan heroine of the epic as a great god and goddess among the people. Our people were made to worship them, and the original languages of the ethnic indigenous people were gradually overshadowed. The Bible of Christians had greatly contributed to spread education in , but not the Ramayana of Bhanu Bhakta. The Bible was translated in „khas‟ language in 1921 AD. Besides it, JA Eton had written a grammar book in 1820 AD, and a dictionary of Turnbul was published in 1887 AD. There were 25 primary schools already running at that time in Darjeeling district in 1821 AD. Darjeeling got hold of a copy of Ramayana of Bhanu Bhakta only in 1930 AD. Later the secret agents of Rana rulers visited Darjeeling and some of them helped in teaching line, but their only motive was to 50 spread Hinduism through education; and they distorted even the history in their favour. I have already mentioned that Bhanu Bhakta was a translator. He was a civil servant working for the Rana rulers. When he was found guilty of embezzlement, he was put behind bar. Once he had gone to ask for night hault in a house of Gajadhar Soti, who was absent at the time. In absence of her husband, the wife of Gajadhar Soti refused to let him stay inside her house, and she knew the man very well. Justifying his intention, Bhanu Bhakta wrote a vendictive poem defaming the dignity of a woman. Likewise, the story of digging a well by a benevolent grasscutter (by profession) is a fictitious episode, because there was no scarcity of water and there was no any custom of selling grass at that time and remote village. The location of the well itself is questionable. But unfortunately some literate people of Darjeeling and Sikkim salute their poet proudly without retrospection of slave mentality. One shoud be ashamd of celebrating Bhanu Jayanti with garlands and long speeches, because they are exibiting their ignorance. Such persons are literate people, but not elite. The Bahuns and Chettries are Nepalies in Nepal, just because they are residing in the territory of Nepal and they have acquired the citizenship of the land. They were here from India. Once they go back to their ancestral place and hold the citizenship of India, they are no more Nepalies. 51

But in the case of indigenous mongoloid people their Nepali identity remain intact, because their original land was Nepal. The Bahuns started worshipping the cobra serpent, that was a most poisonous serpent. In olden days, some mighty kings used to tame serpent girls from their childhood by giving poison at their food. When they were of age, they were sent to the enemy camp, and the entrapped enemy kings and rulers were sure to be doomed to extinction at their vicious love. So the serpent kings were mighty at the time when the Aryans had crossed their border. Since the Aryans were powerless they followed the policy of appeasement and innovated the tradition of serpent worship. In the long run due to this new practice, the powerful serpent rulers forgot the real secret and essence of their ageold tradition, and finally it ended up in common public worship ritual of the common people. Even today the serpent worship is observed in many places in hope of getting boons. The people were instigated even to worship inanimate objects like stones, caves and trees, so that the priests could collect gifts and donations everywhere in the name of religion. And superstition prevailed over the native population, who never realized that they were being cheated by the Hindu priests. This exploitation has been continued for centuries, so the MNO was established to create awareness among our people against the social and religious malpractices 52 introduced by the racial religious priests and rulers. Our people have to wake up for the safe future of our coming generation. The political struggle of Nepal and India is no other than the mutual struggle between Hindu Aryans and non-Hindu native people. We have to be free from their bondage for the conservation of our language and religion. We need political consciousness at the same time for the consolidation of our position at the face of such identity crisis and anachronistic discriminatory racial policy. We were led astray for centuries by racial Hindu masters and rulers. In order to free our people from their puppetry, the MNO was established in Bhadragol jail on 1st Jan. 1989, and its manifesto was declared at the same time; At that time I was in jail. The MNO is dedicated not only for its non- Hindu mongoloid members; it is for all indigenous people, no matter of what party or profession they may belong to. Since we are being treated as refugees in our own land, it has become our common issue and our struggle has become our common agenda. The initiator of the movement of Mongolism entreats you all non-Hindu people to understand the stand taken by the MNO for the freedom and bright future of the coming generations. We may contribute from our different walks of life in what so ever manner. We have to question, why only the native ethnic people of Nepal and India are still backward in 53 every sense? Only the political power ensures your economic power. Political power plays a vital role in every sphere of human life and national life. So let us be politically fully aware of it. Let us wake up, let us move forward unitedly. This is a new voice that animated our slogan of Mongolism. This is a call against anti social caste system and discrimination, that has victimised our non-hindu indigenous people for centuries. I myself was victimised at a wedding ceremony while working as a school teacher at Kolbong Ilam. That time I did not know that our society was classified into different unequal levels of castes. The discriminatory caste system was imposed on us and we were made untouchable in all areas, not only in social areas but also in political and economic areas. With the dawn of this awareness I began to raise my voice of contention against the malpractices. Consequently the racial hurdles propped up in the way of my advancement. It was a lonely walk and full of risk. The innocent people were being unjustly treated all around me, so how could I stand the sheer blatancy of injustice? They inflicted the same treatment on me too. I haven‟t forgotten an incident of my childhood. A barber had come to my house to shave my head. I told him to shave it clean. But my grandfather was not happy that I had adamantly opposed to retaining the Hindu custom of keeping a bunch of hair „tupi‟ on my head. I did not like it. Many people did not like my attitude when I used to raise voice against injustice. Once I 54 was working in Ghumti tea garden office as a clerk, but they discharged me from the office after six months, because I was not getting salary as per my qualification and I had filed a case against the owner of the company. They asked me to apologise, but I refused to comply with them. Only my parents were at my side. Because of my stand against injustice they accused me that I was a communist, whereas I had no knowledge of this terminology at that age. Because of me they even kicked out my father from his government job on the basis of this accusation. The agents of the Congress party were behind all these rackets. My father had joined this job after leaving Gorkha League party. The circumstances made him a communist with adverse impacts in the whole family. In order to escape from house arrest he had to take shelter in cowsheds and caves for many nights. One night he was coming back home after attending the meeting of workers‟ union, suddenly a gang of ruffians sent by the owner of the tea garden attacked my father at the cover of the dark night. At that time I was in Nepal and I came to know about the incidence through news papers. Then only I realized that he was one of the well known communist leaders of the district, and he was also the district level director of Ex-army Organization. Because of anomalous circumstances an aptitude was growing inside me for fighting against the feudal lords and unjust rulers. And gradually I 55 discovered that they were great in number and very powerful as well. So I could not stick permanently in any job and place. The owners of Bhadrapur mill factory kicked me out from the Association after six months and sacked my appointment. Actually the appointment was confirmed as permanent in six months‟ duration. I was working as an office secretary. It was not my job to frequent the residence of the owner and to collect money at his whim. Since I refused to frequent his residence I was kicked out of my office job. Then I was working in a school of Gauriganj Jhapa. I was dismissed from my teaching profession, because I had not saluted the confectioners and vendors who were the members of the executive committee of that school. I was working sincerely. My sincere work should be counted not my obsequious salute. Then I joined Depot High School. But within one year of my service they dismissed me with a notice of 48 hours. The reason was, I had published a news of mal-practice of the depot shop that used to supply the foreign goods to outside market illegally. And there was another news too, printed in the outside media. A little boy of the camp was drowned in a sewage tank. The fire brigade was within a range of few minutes, but it reached the spot only after 45 minutes. I stayed in the camp in defiance of the British administration of the camp that had issued me a notice of 48 hours for leaving their area. After that I went out in an extensive tour of the hills and plains. 56

I visited the villages and towns of Thapa, Ilam, Panchthar, Taplejung, Tehrathum, Chainpur, and Dhankuta and landed down in Biratnagar. For some months I worked as the first representative of Rastriya Sambaat Samittee of Koshi zone. It was in 1963-64. Then I came to Kathmandu, where I could find out the root causes of flagrant anomalies infested in the whole system of the nation under the rule and the Hindu culture. King Mahendra declared Nepal as a Hindu kingdom and we non-Hindu native people were brought down to the level of refugees. His imprudent step really antagonized me and I resolved to stand against him. At the Mongolian conference of 1979 (9-10 Sept.) I raised the voice of mongoloid people for the first time. But not a single paper of Nepal dared to carry this news. The Times of India carried this news. From 1980, I openly brought forward the secular demand against the monarchy system in my articles and many other pamphlets. I traveled many places spreading this new revolutionary message. In every visit to India and abroad, it was carried on incessantly. I knew it was not an easy task and dangerous too. It was a challenge for me. But I always moved forward without showing any signs of abetting even at the cost of my life‟s security. This new wave of Mongolism is the struggle of freedom from the bondage of racial slavery. This is a struggle for a federal democratic republic, secularism and 57 provincial rule. Since the media network was under the control of high caste racial masters, they never gave a space for my articles in their papers. So most of the time my pamphlets were used to disseminate my ideas and thoughts . The articles of those pamphlets were carried in different local papers; and many interviews took place in course of time. The interviews were published in different papers on different dates under different headings. The important headlines were:  “Mongoloid prople are made like those people who have no nation,” published in „Yug Dhwani‟ weekly, on 10 Jan. 1991.  “Janjaati Party is run by the palace,” published in „Gati Bidhi‟ weekly, on 5 Feb, 1991.  “We pay respect to Ravana,” published in „Nepali Patra,‟ weekly, on 1 Nov. 1991.  “The political power will be transfered to the people only after the removal of the kingship”, published in „Manthan‟, weekly, Biratnagar, on 7 Dec. 1992.  “The king may become lifelong president”, published in „Naya Kamana‟, Birtamord, Jhapa, on 31 Jan. 1994. 58

 “Gopal Gurung‟s pamphlet and a dream of presidentship”, publidhed in „Samkalin‟ weekly, on 29 Feb. 1996.  “We do not acknowledge the Hindu king”, published on 25 Nov. 1998. The freedom struggle has been waged for a quater of century, and it has created an atmosphere of animosity, many rivals emerged openly on surface. But ironically the communities for whose freedom I have been fighting, are complacent. They do not even try to understand their own situation. They do not come forward, for there is no any immediate advantage, especially monetory advantage for them. Our struggle is not for monetory gain of a handful persons, but for the identity of a nation. Of course, we need wealth, but wealth is not everything. A king‟s dog stays in palace and eats food that our poor people do not have at all. But a dog is a Sudra with no identity. In our society too, the Janjaaties are of the lowest level of the caste system, and they do not have their own worthwhile identity, they are like dogs of a palace, and they have accepted to remain at the feet of their racial masters. Though they posses marble buildings like palace, they do not exist authentically and are content at their unfortunate lot of dehumanisation, which they do not perceive at their life time. People may not like such ideology and may leave me all alone on my journey of struggle. I 59 know that such ideology does not help me financially. It is quite natural that on top of all priorities all people want to be sound financially, so that they may have good house, nice bank balance, a car and more earnings for the luxury of life. This is the norm of the society we have been brought up, and we follow the same tradition of accumulating wealth for personal use. We are always after immediate wealth, and do not care much for our identity and authentic existence. A sort of slave mentality envelops us, and we become blind to the true values of life. They never think seriously and consider me as a fool. I spent my life in this struggle without realizing that I was already crossing the threshold of my age. Nowadays I have a feeling that the day is coming near when the century old bondage of slave mentality will be broken thoroughly and our coming generations will have safe future having their true identity in authentic sense of existence. I wish to see that glorious day. I have already mentioned elsewhere that, the Magar community could advance ahead of the Gurung community. But their leaders failed to lead them, because they were bogged down in their vested interest and went astray. They could not grasp the nucleus of the reality and followed the pro-palace policy out of their personal greedy nature. Similarly Gurung community too lacked open mindedness and confused themselves in the division of four castes 60 and sixteen castes acknowledging the caste division among themselves. At the same time they brought foward the issue of their location and language ignoring their members of other places and dilects. The outside members were not considered as Gurung (Tamu). I had tried to break through their nerrow mindedness and bring them back into unity long before a quarter of a century, opening the first „Tamu Dhin‟ meeting while I was staying in a rented house of Jhonche, Kathmandu. The college students had taken part in the assembly, on 17 Sept. 1976. Then „Tamu Chonj‟ was established in Butwal on 1984. I made suggestions about opening a central Tamu Dhi office of the Gurung community in Pokhara after consulting with the members of Pokhara. That office could operate in national level, but no one showed any interest in it. That was Panchayat time in Nepal. After the Panchayat system, the multiparty system came into existence. There was a grand session of the Gurung community in Pokhara for three consequtive days, and the session passed a resolution to amalgamate the two previous groups, „Tamu Dhin‟ and „Tamu Chonj‟ into a new organisation namely „Tamu Chonj Dhin‟ , which became known nationally and internationally. All know that I had initially started „Tamu Dhin‟ in 1976, and „Tamu Chonj‟ was started in 1984. At that time I was the secretary of „Tamu Chonj‟. The word „Tamu‟ came into lime-light through its publicity in „New Light‟ weekly since 1970. 61

There is a Gurung shrine near the Butwal chowk. When the Nagar panchayat had dismentalled it, I reached there to deplore their action and published an article against their atrocity committed against the sentiment of our community in „New Light‟ weekly. Later the shrine was built, but some high caste Bahun and Chettry people planted a piller near it at night time for slaughtering their animals. When the multiparty system came into the political scenario, almost all members of the Gurung community, who used to organise Tamu programmes and used to invite me as a member guest, they gradually joined in other political parties, such as Congress party, Communist party, Pancha Mandalay party and Janmukti party. No one of them joined in the MNO. During the Panchayat time, when they were mistreated by others, not a single above party had come forward to help them in distress, neither Congress nor Communist and others. I had to declare openly their ingratitude in an open speech in 1995. I told them flately, “You are ungrateful; From now on please do not invite me in your programmes. I won‟t be present even if you invite me.” A Shanti stupa constructed by Meen Bahadur Gurung in Pokhara, and a built by Gurung community in Ilam were dismentaled by army and police of the administration. Not a single party raised any voice of protest, not a single paper wrote about 62 it. I had to print this news in „New Light‟ weekly deploring the crime committed against the community. Those persons for whom I raised a voice of protest, unfortunately they were in front line to slander the MNO abusing it as a communal organisation. It reflects the status of their conscience. Long time ago, the people of the Gurung and Magar communities were serving at the racial army of the imperial ruler Prithivinarayan Shah. So it is no wonder, if they act as stooges without feeling ashamed of their cowardice in not coming forward to fight for their own right and identity. Who created such chaos among them ? One of them was Bhojraj Bahun, who wrote and distributed the copies of „Bangsawali‟ (geneology) and „Gotra‟ (division of castes or clan) in 1648. He distributed the copies in Lamjung district. After him there was another Bahun, Sikharnath Subedi, who helped to spread these racial articles to other places. The indigenous or mongoloid people do not have caste system and „Gotra‟. The caste division or Gotra was brouhgt in the Gurung community from outside. This divide and rule policy was enhanced by Narharinath Yogi in and around 1956. Even a member of the community, Sher Bahadur Gurung, who being allured at petty cash alloted by Bharat Shamsher, wrote „Bangsawali‟ and claimed that the Gurungs are Hindus. What a shame and stupidity ! Such kind of superficiality is the reason of their subservience to the Hindu master, who dominate them and exploite 63 them with impunity. Unfortunately they have accepted the Janjaati identity, the lowest untouchable caste of the caste system. Kul Bahadur Gurung and Purna Bahadur Gurung brought this case before the court against Sher Bahadur, who was prosecuted for disregarding the community prestige. And he was expelled from the general body of the Gurung Welfare Organisation in 1958. Other blind followers of the racial masters are Bhadrabir Gurung and Jagman Gurung. Bhadrabir of Parbat wrote a book supporting the division of the community into four castes and sixteen castes in 1962. Jagman became a member of Biswa Hindu Parishad in 1978, implicitly denoting that the Gurung people are non other than Aryans. Laksha Bahadur Gurung of Pokhara has been nominated as a member of Biswa Hindu Parishad. On the other hand, due to gradual encroachment of the outsiders, the predominant Newar communities are lacking unity among themselves and the outsider Bahuns have captured dominant positions over them, because they themselves are supporting the Bahuns. The Newars who were made Hindus openly discriminated other Buddhist Newars as per the Hindu custom and tradition, that taught them to bow down at the feet of the Hindu king and ruler. They have developed a complex about their Buddhist identity. They could not produce any big political leader from their 64 community. They were literate but no one of them had courage to stand for the prime-ministership of the country. Ganeshman Singh was the commander of the Congress party, but he was not regared as their politician. They were always at the service of their racial leaders in a complacent manner. Prithivinarayan Shah invaded Kantipur and captured the throne, and the local people of Newar community hailed him as their great king. The Rana rulers came to power, again they saluted the despotic rulers without any question. King Mahendra sat on the throne and they hailed him. And the multiparty racial leaders were hailed equally. After the bloody massacre of king Birendra and the royal family members, king Gyanendra came to power, and the Newar community members were in the line to serve him. The local people of Newar community boast about their success in literacy and economy, but shrink back like a serpant at the shadow of a hawk when they salute their Shah and Bahun masters. In fact the local people are well equipped with wealth, man-power and literacy, but unfortunately they lack wisdom and courage. There are some brave Newar martyres, but they gave life for the sake of others. On the otherhand, the vast majority of indigenous people or the mongoloid people are more backward in every aspect. So we need an organisation like the MNO to consolidate our position as the country‟s leading political agency that may create balance with 65 counterpart political parties and may fight back for our own rights, entity and safe future. The Aryan Hindu rulers have considered Nepal as a part of India in their slogan or „mantra‟, (Jambu dipay Bharat khanday, Bharat khanday Nepal deshay). They either go to Kashi Banaras to take their last ethereal breath, or send their ash-pot there after their cremeation. They borrowed the national flag from outside. They installed the statue of Tribhuwan as a martyre on the top of other martyres. They renamed Ghat as an Arya Ghat. The second edition of the written by Ambika Prasad Upadhaya in 1929 had quoted the following lines of Rammani Dixit: “This is a land of wild uncivilized (Gurung, Magar, Tamang, Rai, Limbu) and „Kharpanay‟ (basket porters) people. This is Nepal, Oh God ! Please keep it as it is now. If they become civilised we will lose everything. Always collaborate with Brahamins and Chettries in the formation of a cabinet or ministry; never insert any „matawali‟ or non-aryan in it.” (Rammani Dixit) I have seen many Bahun and Chettry persons in my life time. They had come to Kathmandu from remote villages, but grasped the oppertunities of high government posts and became owners of massive masions and building in a span of short time. Their children frequented to foreign educational institutions and universities at the 66 expense of the national coffer. They had licence to malpractice of corruption with impunity, because they were either enjoying their racial facilities from the racial government or they were under the shelter of the palace. They were flagrantly enjoying their racial connection with the government officials and the palace. There was a certain CDO, named Hiranyalall Regmi, who issued a citizenship to Lopsang Lama, a top level contractor, at the payment of a big amount. Later the same CDO confiscated his citizenship at his own whim. During Panchayat period, Navraj Subedi had issued a citizenship to a certain lady of Taiwan, who had paid him quite a big amount of bribe. When the lady was caught and jailed for some reason, no power on earth could touch Mr. Subedi. In 1979 I had gone to Sri Lanka to take part in an Asian Conference of Press Foundation, and I had got oppertunity to meet the president in his presidential palace. At that time Dibyadeo Bhatta was the secretary of the communication ministry. When he came to know about my participation, he shouted openly in front of other people inside the big hotel, “Who sent that „bhotay‟ here ?” („bhotay‟ is a despised word used for a certain ). I strongly deplored his remark in papers. Once Tarak Bahadur Shah (the father of Rishikesh Shah) was the secretary of Khagendra Jung Gurung. When the secretary saw him drowsy 67 on the chair, he passed a remark and said, “The doormen are such, they feel sleepy when on a comfortable sofa.” When Manmohan Sing was the chairman of the public service commision, a certain person named Surya Kumar Subba went to see him in his office. A cheat of paper was sent in to inform about the visitor. Looking at the last name of the visitor, he retorted back and refused to let him in saying, “ I don‟t want to see a face of any „bhotay‟.” This is how they treat us and despise us in every area of public life. We have to free our future generation from such racial bias and prejudice, and we need the MNO for this purpose. The Hindu rulers have mentioned that this is a land of uncivilized people and thus have indicated themselves as outsiders, because indigenous mongoloid people are the owners of the land, aboriginal people of the land. Since it is not their land, they followed a discriminatory policy of keeping our people in darkness and backwardness. They picked up Bahun and Chettry candidates only in their cabinet and ministry, and other oppertunities as well. Still they have maintained the same racial policy. So we have to question, who are the anti national elements, and who are the enemies of non- hindu indigenous people ? The MNO has been established to challange these anti-national elements. The nation belongs to non-hindu people too. The MNO is for the protection, preservation and 68 enhancement of „Mongolism‟. The anti secularist element and anti republic elements are the enimies of this „Mongolism‟. There should be a provision of a seperate ministry for the non-hindu indigenous people, and all the staff members of the new ministry should be according to the advice of the MNO. There should be a provision of 50 percent quota in every area. There should not be any comparision and connotation of the word „Janjaati‟ with our identity. These two factions are not the same for we have different identities. They should not fool us in such error. A group of Janjaati swindlers is cheating us. In order to protect our people from such swindlers, the MNO can play a role in between and can reduce the possibility of misuse of national coffer. The caste system of the Hindus and the caste division of Janjaati and the untouchable groups is found only in Hinduism. They have four major castes and many sub-castes with multi branches. The lowest caste of them is Sudra, below which only an animal exists. The untouchable castes are „Jaatis‟, below them constitutes the formation of „Janjaati‟. We need a new type of leadership that can digest new revolutionary thoughts and can bring dynamic changes in our out dated pattern of society. We are not within the discriminatory castes of the Hindu caste system. We are not Janjaati at all. It is time to realize it for the sake of all indigenous people. 69

Chapter 2 Bahunism in Nepalese Politics The right type of medical treatment depends on the doctor‟s diognosis. Similarly political illness can be diagonised properly before its effective treatment. The founder of Gorkha League of India was Damber Sing Gurung who had some knowledge of the political affairs of Nepal. He was the first person to deliver a speech from an open forum of Kathmandu. His brother was Aribahadur Gurung, the only barrister among Nepalies then. When my father was in Gorkha League, he visited him frequently. At that time I was a little kid and used to take part in the political slogan of the party in favour of Gorkha Leageu and Damber Gurung during election time. His election mark or sign was pen and ink. D.B.Khati was his opponent. Later I met Aribahadur Gurung, who had a house in Tripai, ; K.B. Gurung the first school inspector of Darjeeling district, and Narbahadur Gurung a minister of West Bengal. At the time of Aribahadur Gurung a sum of money (Rs. 6216200/- IC) was sent to Nepal in aid of ex-armies of Nepal. It was collected from the sallaries of the army, and the sum was sent to a Reconstruction Fund. But how they misused the fund, I have highlighted in my book „Hidden Facts in Nepalese Politics‟. Aribahadur Gurung had worked for the youth of Nepal. He travelled many parts of 70

East and West of Nepal. He tried to awaken the Magar, Gurung, Rai and Limbu youth and their communities under a united banner and slogan. The Rana rulers came to know about his movement and expelled him out from the country. Through my father‟s influence I had met DB Gurung, the president of Congress party of Bhutan. He was in exile in . We used to discuss about the political situation of Nepal. Those people who used to take interest in political issues were my father, Ari Bahadur Gurung, DB Gurung, Nar Bahadur Gurung, Gajendra Gurung and IB Thapa Magar (a medical doctor). I often used to share my ideas and knowledge about Nepal with them. When the multi party system was over in Nepal, some Bahun and Chettry of Bahundangi Jhapa, conspired against the programme of the MNO, and sent their drunkard goons to disrupt the MNO meeting and programme; and a fierce clash erupted between our workers and them. That event was carried by some Nepali papers and Indian papers in an agrressive manner. In some papers it was written against us accusing that, “This is a well planned warfare proclamation of Gopal Gurung. Mongol training is switched on in the jungle of Jhapa, so it is a proclamation of freedom zone.” So a spate of interviews thronged around me, even from outside world like Holand and Hongkong. I had to 71 give the explanation of the term „setamagurali‟ (united front of six ethnic groups). The Nepalies of India had contributed to overthrow a century old Rana regime, even the Nepalies from Burma had contributed in this venture. After the success of armed revolution in Nepal, my father returned home with other exarmy revolutionary fighters, but some of them had settled in Nepal. An ex-army Gurung was the instructor of the administration department. All efficient workers of the education department, the court and the aircraft had come here from outside. But as their contribution was not acknowledged properly, Nepal could not get support from outside as before at the time of king Mahendra, who staged a coup and captured power in 1960. A Congress leader of Jhapa had come to my father‟s place to seek support of the ex-army. My father the top brass of the ex-army association of Darjeeling district. At that time I had begun to realize how the high caste racial rulers were manupulating our people and rejected our people once their relfish motive was fulfilled. Actually the BSO policy of India was Brahaminical Social Order, that was reflected in the politics of Nepal. This policy was the blueprint or copy of the policy of Wllie Lynch, who was an owner of the black slaves in America and had formulated a policy in 1712. His policy worked out 72 and subdued the the black people for three hundred years. After a long span of time in slavery, some black leaders like Martin Luther, JC Jackson emerged with new conciousness among the black people. Now the white people are in search of another formula in order to continue their rule over the black people. Similarly the high caste racial rulers of Nepal also are looking for a new formula of subjugation. They are trying to appease our anger with their wily arguments stating that the past was past, and our complaints and aggressive actions are not justifiable at the present context. In order to appease the people of Gurung community, had said in his open speech in Pokhara, “I am also one of the sons of the Gurung community.” Hitler was a dictator and he had said, “We Aryans are born to rule over the world, and all others are born to be ruled. Aryan means civilized, and the Aryans are at the forefront of every area.” His statement was a travesty of truth and justice. Pride and cruelty were his personality traits. He had inherited these traits from Hindu Aryans. So he chose Swastika as a Nazi emblem, which was borrowed from Hindu Aryans. I have already mentioned about Willie Lynch, who had promulgated „The Willie Lynch Letter and the making of a slave‟ formula long time 73 ago in America. The same discriminatory formula was sown in India and Nepal by the high caste racial rulers. The Biswa Hindu Parishad of India sends its secret mantra to the racial rulers of Nepal, and the Bahun and Chettry rulers follow that discriminatory mantra accordingly. So the political struggle of Nepal is interwoven with racial discrimination and caste system of the Hindus, or between the Hindus and non-hindu people. All indigenous people of India are mongoloid people and their religion is Buddhism. The root cause of the political and the religious struggle both in India and Nepal, is the discriminatory policy of the Hinduism. It is a struggle between Hinduism and Mongolism. Hinduism means Bhahamanism. The head of Hinduism is a Brahamin, who is guarded by Chettry. So a Chettry falls in second level of the caste system. Originally a Chettry was not an Aryan although he was a ruler. There was a fight between these two factions from time to time, and this event is reflected in the fighting of Brihaspati and Parsuram. It is believed that all landowners or rulers were defeated in a decisive battle and their women were captured by the Aryan Brahamins after their final victory. Later their offspring were considered as second class Aryan descendants, who became obedient guards of the Bhahamins at their age. Buddhist religion is the oldest religion of the world. It existed before five hundred years of 74

Jesus Christ. Muslim religion came into existence only after six hundred years of Christ. Buddhism was widely spread in Asia, Africa and Europe. Emperor Ashoka had helped to spread it widely. Sidaha (Sidarth) was born in Lumbini but expelled by the Hindu Aryans from his native land. Sidaha (Sidarth) was the Buddha. It is our foolishness to designate the Buddha title with Hindu gods like Bishnu. Buddha was not the incarnation of Bishnu. It was a deception on the followers of Buddha. There was racial discrimination in Hinduism. The Hindu Aryans spread allurement and assumption of heaven; and a dreadful fear of hell as well, so that, they could preserve feudalism that they were enjoying for ages. On the contrary, Buddhism opposed them, and the indigenous people were Buddhists. So the Hindu rulers never thought any sort of welfare of the indigenous people, except their downfall. The upliftment of the indigenous people of India and Nepal is not in their favour, because they take it as their downfall. They argue that the upliftment of the black people of Africa is the downfall of the white people who were ruling over them for centuries. The Hindu Aryans only want to rule over the indigenous people. They are very clever to present arguments on the issues of word-meaning and create illusion to trap the gullible people in their racial net. They admit and say, “The offspring of Brahamin and Chettry become intelligent.” China, Japan, Korea, Thailand are not Aryan countries, but they are well developed 75 countries. Then how can one believe the above mentioned statement of the Hindu Aryans ? The leaders and rulers of India and Nepal still believe in superstitions and frequent the shrines of astronomers and sorcerers. They worship some magicians like Sai Baba and Shankracharya. They ignore the news of BBC and Asian Age and some other magazines that had revelled the news of four dead bodies found in the residence of Sai Baba, and the mysterious homosexuality. King Birendra had paid a visit to Sai Baba and he used to wear his locket. Unfortunately, Sai Baba could not save his life by predicting the dreadful royal massacre in good time. Sher Bahadur Deoba also paid visit to him, and he believed in tantric power. donated a piece of land in Chitwan for the construction of a temple after receiving a royal locket. King Gyanendra paid visit to all temples and shrines of the deities, offering numerous animals in every visit. He visited the shrine of Shankracharya, who is the staunch opponent of Buddha and Buddhism. But no one could fullfill the wish of king Gyanendra. Wasn‟t the homicide scandle of Nagarkot a sacrifice to goddess Kali ? At last not a single Hindu deity could stand and face the peace message of Buddha. That peace message of Buddha brought down king Gyanendra to the pedestal, at the brink of being swept away. Now let me present some evidence on how the Hindu Aryans continued their attacks on 76

Buddhist religion. Lord Buddha‟s initial name was Sidaha (Sidartha). He was born in Lumbini of Nepal. His field of work was India. He got enlightenment and became Buddha in India. He had faced more defamation and hurdles in Nepal than in India, from where he could spread his newfound knowledge, , and the message of peace and humanity. For this reason he was a citizen of India despite the discrimination of the Hindu Aryans and their conspiration against his life. Later the emperor Ashoka dedicated his vast wealth and life for the spread of Buddhism. Bimbisar, Ravana, Dr.Bhimrao Ambedker were great indigenous personalities, who had done mighty deeds for the Buddhist religion. But some Buddhist followers of Nepal have defamed the name of Buddha by touching the feet of king Gyanendra, and by bringing down the Newar community to the lowest level of caste system. A handfull of those servile followers are manupulating the Buddhist . They even do not hesitate to drink water after washing the feet of a Hindu ruler. The religious and political policies of Nepal are interrelated . As long as the Hindu masters and rulers are in power, the indigenous people will never have any oppertunity in any area, because they are discriminated politically, economically, religiously, socially, culturally and in all developmental areas. There is no future, no vision set apart for the indigenous people. So the indigenous people of India and Nepal must be politically 77 conscious, not literate fools, but intellectual elite. Self bragging and vanity is not the essence of human life. We do not limit ourselves into a narrow circle of individual livelihood like animals. We have to cross the boundry of narrow mindedness and reach out to others and to future generation as well. Our present thinking pattern and behaviour impart indispensable impact on coming generation. Let them exist on our merit. Let them have an identity of their own. We must contribute something to them. We have to bear social responsibility. Though we are individuals, every drop of water has its own share in a river. The indigenous mongoloid people of Nepal have lost their true sense of nation, and they are like refugees in a Hindu country. The Hindu kings made us like refugees. They are enemies of the indigenous people, and the monarchy system must be done with. In a secularised society, a nation belongs to all. Through provincial government system every people will have oppertunity to play leading roles and hence the enhancement of leadership in every area with scope of multi development. Buddhist religion is hindunised in Nepal. Buddhist bihars are hindunised by the racial rulers, who are in power and controlling everything. Budhanilkantha is an statue of sleeping Buddha. But it was hindunised, and it became a statue of Hindu god. Psupatinath temple is a , and the Hindu rulers spend millions of rupees for its maintanence and other expences, but 78 they spend not a single penny for the Buddhist temples. In front of the Pasupatinath temple there is a stand of -linga (the phallic symbol of Shiva). Actually an statue of Trilokeswari was replaced by the present „Siva-linga‟. Bhasker Burma had replaced it and introduced the tradition of worshipping it. The present „Singha-darbar‟ was built on the ground of a Buddhist bihar and monastery. had built his darbar on the ground of Boudha bihar. I have already mentioned that Bahunism is a Hindu policy of cheating our people. In 1960 some Bahuns had spread a rumour of a universl catastrophe. That was only an astronomic ploy framed by Biswa Hindu Parishad to attract our attention to their religious rites. Professor David Hill Burt was a well known astronomer, who had said, “If you pick up ten learned persons of the world and tell them to pinpoint an example of most foolishness, their choice will be the fallacy of astronomy.” With the power of persuasion, they cheat stupid people. Sometimes they spread a rumour that such and such statue of Ganesh drank milk. Because of the misuse of astronomy, king George IV had given order to remove this subject from the course of Cambridge and Oxford university. He declared its teaching as illegal and liable to penalty of confinement. Once Nepolian called a palmist in his place and showed him his palm, asking, “How long will I live ?” The palmist predicted his short span of age. Nepolian asked the 79 age of the palmist, who predicted a long span of age. Then Nepolian cut lines on his palm and said, “I make my fortune myself;” Nepolion gave order to cut off the palmist‟s head saying, “Your death is in my hand not on you palm.” The officials of Lumbini Development Fund have tarnished the good name of Buddhist religion embezzling the fund begged in the name of Buddha. During the Panchayat period in 1974, the royal army disrupted the construction work of peace stupa and tortured Fugiguru, and dismentalled that peace stupa. Later the stupa was built in Rajgir Bihar. The Buddhists had planned to construct Sidartha University and it was recommended on 30 Dec, 1997 by the members of the parliament. There were 235 members under the premiership of . But unfortunately the permission was not granted, because Nepal was the only Hindu kingdom, and the chairholders in key positions were the Bahuns and Chettries. This plan was revised during Sher Bahadur Deoba‟s premiership, but the education minister Narayan Prakash Saud flately refused to recommend it on the ground of deficit budget. Again the plan was sent to the palace of king Gyanendra. But the secretary of royal palace Madhusudan Pokhrel and Devi Prasad Ojha dumped the petition in dustbin. During the premiership of , a Japanese monk was murdered on 3rd July, 1997. It was believed that 80

Gyanendra was behind the curtain, because the monk had enquired about the account of Lumbini Development Fund, and the chair-person of the fund was Gyanendra. At that time the peace stupa was under construction and it was a huge project. The Hindu Aryans never appreciated the Buddhist god, rather insulted and antagonised the followers. Kedar Nepal and Kapitl Bhattarai had stuffed pork meat and liquor into the mouth of a statue of Buddha on 28 August, 1996. These two Bahun culprits went scotfree. They could do such disgusting insult with impunity in a Hindu country. All Buddhist of Dolkha district are in dilapidated condition. Some of the famous monasteries are – Charigyang monastery of Dolkha, Makang monastery of Helembu, Mu and Sailung monasteries of Gorkha, Lapcha Cho Gota monastery of Dolkha etc. The last one was built by a Lepcha monk in 11th century, it is believed to be the biggest monastery of Nepal. They are dilapidated looking monasteries, just because, Nepal is a Hindu country. The followers of „Hinayana‟ sect are usually despised, because of the impact of racial discrimination of the Hindu Aryans, who believe in second birth. Such blind faith has distorted the teaching of Buddhist religion. Buddha neither believed in heaven and hell, or in recurrence of physical life and rebirth. The Hindu Aryans contrived such teachings in order to cheat the 81 followers of Buddha, and denigrated the truth propagated by Buddha. Buddha and king Ashoka were great personalities and Mongols as well. Giving to others was their personality trait, unlike snatching trait of the Hindus. The Hindus had a long history of refugee life and had developed a disposition to violence and snatching away others‟ property. That is why the devotees are cheated by the priests and pandas of the Hindu temples. It is their ancestral occupation and tradition. Among ten Buddhist countries of the world, Srilanka, , Cambodia, Laos and Thailand, belong to „Hinayana‟ sect. and the rest Bhutan, China, Mangolia, Viatnam and Japan belong to „Mahayana‟ sect. Sankracharya, who is regarded as an incarnation, was the master of king Gyanendra, both of whom opposed Buddhism to the utmost limit. On the other hand Dalai Lama also is regarded as an incarnation. There is no difference in their mutual faith, but they hate each other. The aspirants of “Mahayana‟ sect of Buddhism, are sent to Banaras for study of Buddhism. Banaras is a place of pilgrimage for both of them. The Mahayana Buddhists chant the name of „Padma Sambhav‟ repeatedly for thousand times in hope of securing a passport to heaven. Padma Sambhav was a Brahamin of Orissa. The indo-aryans expanded their influence beyond northern bounderies of India, and distorted the genuine teachings of Buddhism. Similarly the 82 colonial power and rule of the Aryan race had spread in different parts of the world, mostly in Africa and Asia. Consequently African and Asian countries became poor. Black people of Africa were discriminated. The two world wars have brought many drastic changes and the indigenous people of each country have become aware, and they are struggling to break the bondages of their poverty and backwardness. Once there was no sunset in British empire and the white Aryans were proud of it. But they had to shrink back to their own territory. The Hindu Aryans of India and Nepal are trying frantically to save their power and rule in conspiratorial manner. You can not fool anybody for a long time. The conspiracy and discriminatory policy of the Hindu Aryans can not serve them for ever. The day to shrink back to their own territory will come sooner or later. If they are not farsighted and continue their discrimination and communalism austerely the magic of their power and money will vanish soon, as the transitory power of the mighty rulers like Rana and Shah kings dwindled within a short span of fleeting time. The indigenous people became poor and backward, because the intruders confiscated land and everything from them, and imposed their Aryan racial policy distorting our religion, language and custom. Our people have to take a stand unitedly, the indigenous mongoloid people will definately score a victory over the racial masters and their racial policy. We might belong to 83 different parties and organisations, but we have to recognize our common malevolent elements and face them with vigour, prudence and strength for the future of our coming generation. Buddhist religion was spread widely after Ashoka. The Hindu feudal lords were always active against the Buddhist followers and they ruled over them with violence and without any mercy. The impact of that Aryan racial rule created a chaos and confusion among the indigenous people, who eventually forgot their identity. A short of dark age prevailed after the rule of Ashoka. From that dark period numerous statues of Hindu deities emerged with fancy tails. That trend was like a huge net of deception to trap the Buddhist followers. And consequently the name and teachings of Buddha slipped into oblivion. Not long ago in Nepal itself, Chandra Shamsher suppressed the Buddhist people in 1924, and Judha Shamsher suppressed them mercilessly in 1944. Those merciless Hindu rulers put the Buddhist followers behind bar and expelled out many of them from the country. In our own time, a zonal administrative officer named Shankerraj Pathak had sent army to dismental a Buddhist stupa in Pokhara. It was in Panchayat period. The holy ash pot of Buddha, presented by Sri Lanka was stolen in 1973 from the shrine of Ananda Kuti, and there is no any 84 trace of any perpitrator. The Hindu kings and Aryan racial rulers mentioned Nepal as a country of Buddha only for begging alms from other countries. Such activities are directed by a group of Nepali Bahuns and BHP of India. Ashk Singhal visited Nepal and declared Nepal as the only Hindu kingdom of millions of Hindus of the world, and supported king Gyanendra as their only monarch. But when the Janandolan people‟s revolutionary movement erupted for a republican movement, their king alone stood at the verge of elimination. Actually true Hindus of Nepal are „A‟ class Bahuns and „B‟ class Chettries, comprising 15 percent in India and twenty percent in Nepal. The secret of their strong hold is – divide and rule. They divide the indigenous people in many factions. The people are poor, illiterate and backward; so they are misled easily. Once Narbahadur Bhandari of Sikkim had mentioned in one of his public speech saying, “Limbus are cheaper than sack bags.” I myself have experience of this bitter reality during an election time. I have been fighting for the right of the indigenous people since 1980, but many of them sold their right of vote for a handful money and liquor forgetting the bitter national reality. The anomaly of our society is such. Unless they think seriously, they can not come up. Until they know the realities about themselves and stand unitedly, tremours of fear will overshadow them. The hierarchical system of the 85 rulers has exploited our people, and our people are frightened by their system at the same time. This trend of racial domination does not last long. Because new generations come up with new mindset and with relentless opposition to such unjust social order and rule. Deception, deprivation and exploitation are no more effective means to subdue our people in darkness. The downfall history of mighty rulers like, Shah of Iran, Tsar of Russia, Hitler of , Chachesku of Romania, the Ranas of Nepal, the white rulers of Africa, self- proclaimed king Gyanendra etc. is the evidence of it for all. King Gyanendra is to be swept away untill he becomes a commoner like us. A Bahun group is active to reinstate him on his royal chair, and that racial group will continue to conspire till their last breath. That political Hindu faction is always against the indigenous non-hindu people, who are different from them in terms of religion and culture. The indigenous non-hindu people have their own religion and culture. In the long run the Aryan racial policy of appeasment, allurement, punishment and discrimination of the Hindu rulers will fail to trap our indigenous people. Our people will be free from the bondages of Hindu racial policy, that kept us captives for centuries. We only need to be united, because we all are the victims of the despotic Hindu policy and discrimination. We have to recognize our common foe. We have to recognize our united strength that is hidden in us unfolded in our diversity. 86

We are hard workers like bees by nature, but unfortunately the sweet honey is being consumed by others. If non-hindu indigenous people march forward unitedly, the mountains and rivers of our land will welcome us. Buddha had marched forward, and his couragious march brought peace in the world. In the same way, the great Mongols like Chengiskhan and Mao had marched forward and had broken down the bondage of slavery of the people. Maoism shook off the foundation of Nepal and its tangible impact was seen even in India. We indigenous mongoloid people are like seeds whth hidden life inside, or like a hidden volcano inside a mountain, or like unseen undercurrent of an ocean. We only need to realize the capacity of our being. Guru Nanak promulgated the Sikh religion in 15th century against the discriminatory policy of the Hindu Aryans. Pakistan was separated in 1947 for the same reason. Jinha was an efficient candidate for the premiership of India, but he was thwarted in his ambitions by the Brahamins, whose racial choice was Jawaharlall Neheru. Consequently India split up into two continents on the basis of race and religion. Jawaharlall Neheru was the first prime-minister of India. And Gandhi was assassinated by a Brahamin, he was not shot by any untouchable caste, Muslim, Sikh or Christian person. Gandhi was deceived by his own race. Such story of deception and assassination is commonly found in Brahamanism or 87

Hinduism. Shivaji was a Sudra ruler, and he was killed by his own ministers. Tipu Sultan was completely annihilated by his two Hindu ministers. During the reign of king Ashoka, sixty thousand Brahamins had become monks covetously just to gratify their hunger and physical needs. At the time of king Harshabardhan, a big group of Brahamins had hatched a plot to overthrow the king in 630. Their plan was foiled and the group of 590 Brahamins was hanged, and others were ostracised from the kingdom declaring them as untouchable. This practice of social boycott against them was removed in 750. The Bodhi-tree and a shrine of Buddha were burnt down in Gaya by a Brahamin landlord. Such atrocity shows that the Hindu Aryan themselves do not believe in their own teachings of heaven and hell, but contradict the universal teachings of Buddha, who taught us the right of freedom, equality and fraternity. A Parsi historian named Alberuni, had come to India with Mohammad Gajni in 1030. In order to indicate the questionable attitude of the Aryans, they had been termed as Hindu for the first time by the historian. The term „Hindu‟ denoted the degrading characteristics of the racial people, who were looting and cheating others. Even today the Hindu priests are cheating people in different temples of India. The symbol „Swastika‟ is commonly used by the Hindu Aryans, and it was the 88

Nazi symbol used by Hitler, and both were merciless rulers. The following Hindu temples were originally Buddhist temples, they were captured by the Hindu Aryans : (1) Badrinath temple, which was a Buddhist Vihar, a Buddhist monastry, with a statue of Buddha; (2) Jaganathpuri of Orissa, was a Buddhist vihar before 1600 yrs. (3) Danglu of Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu and Sabari of Kerala; (4) Malai Dharmashala, Karnatak Padarpur, Maharastra; (5) Ujjain, Vihar of Gaya, Madhya Pradesh; (6) Buddhist temples were replaced by Hindu temples in Mathura, Kashi, UP. The aggressive policy of the Hindu rulers overruled the earlier nonviolence and peaceful practices of the Buddhist religion, the impact of which was the distortion of religious practices and rituals. Statues of Buddha were found in the excavation site of Ayodha. A Buddhist monk had visited India in 9th century. His name was Huen Sang, who had documented his findings in writing. According to his writing, there were two thousand 89 and five hundred Buddhist Vihars, and one lakh sixty thousand Buddhist monks. The Hindu Aryans and their supporters oppressed the Buddhist followers mercilessly. They even had put a price on each head of Buddhist monks. The price of one head of a monk was equivalent to one hundred golden coin in and around Puri, Tirupati and Buddha-gaya. In my openion it was the consequence of non-violence policy. May be, this psychological warfare was crafted by the Hindu Aryans, who had expelled Sidaha (Sidarth) from his native land. Mahabharata and Ramayana are the great Hindu epics written by their Gurus. A long imaginary fiction was fabricated to trap indigenous people into their racial illusion, because the indigenous people were all Buddhists under their own powerful rulers like king Ashoka and others. Mahabharata and Ramayana are not ancient epics as mentioned by Kalay Rai in his articles published in Hindurastra magazine in 1991. He has exagerated the composition period of these epica and has claimed that they were written before five thousand years. Such a babbling was printed only to satisfy his authoritarian Hindu masters, who cannot ignore the existence of Muslims during the period of composition. The Hindu Aryans migrated from Caucasious to Iran and then to India. It covers a history of three thousand and five hundred years only. Then they came to Nepal, and it covered a short 90 history of about five hundred years only. Then how could the writer claim the ancient time of the epics ? He is acting only as a puppet of his Aryan racial master. He is upgraded to Chettry caste by them, but he never becomes one of them, no matter how much he baptised himself into Hindu rituals, customs and costumes. After all his place is at the foot of the Bahuns as per tire of their caste system. The people of our community are still unaware of their caste status, and tend to defend it with an air of complacency in their social behaviour. Our people are educated and literate, but in all areas expecially in political arena, they are subdued by their high caste neighbours. Rais and Limbus are known as Kirati. BP Koirala has written a book titled „Sumnima‟, a novel, in which he has inserted this racial dialogue – „We are civilised Aryans, and you are an uncivilised Kirati.” Not a single Rai or a Limbu ever protested against such a derogatory remark. The party members and workers too were silent, because they were afraid of the political repercussion and expulsion from the so and so party. Once a Kirati temple was dismentalled in Dharan at the time of Madhav Nepal, who was recond to the PM. Not a single party member of Rai and Limbu community ever came out to the street, nor tendered their resignation from the affiliated party. Inside the party itself the crime committed by the high caste workers 91 or members can be condoned, because, their masters are of the same caste namely Bahun and Chettry, who have political and economic power in their hand. Non-hindu indigenous people are bound to tolerate any sort of adversity, injustice, discrimination, suppression and exploitation; for they are brought up in such unhealthy environment from their childhood and their forefathers too were complacent about the sorry state of their life. There are many factors that caused harm to our society, and one of them was the Brahaminical Social Order‟ imported to Nepal from India by Biswa Hindu Parishad (BHP). This social order was the direct result of the policy of Kautillya, Chanakya, Shanker Dig Vijaya, Manu Smriti etc. Even Ramayana and Mahabharata epics were part of it. Their main weapon was political power. Manu applied discriminatory policy, even at the use of walking stick. Only a Brahamin could carry a talest stick and a Baisya could carry a shortest stick, whereas a Sudra was not allowed to carry any stick. Another example of caste discrimination was – a Brahamin could own any sort of fortune, a Chettry had to share it with his master or Brahamin. A Baisya was allowed to own only one fourth of his fortune, and a Sudra was not allowed to retain anything. A Hindu guru Manu advised to cut off a Sudra‟s tongue if he was found reading a book or to pierce through a Sudra‟s ear, or to pour in molten 92 metal, if he was found guilty of listening any „mantra‟. The people of „Nayar‟ community in South India had to carry a broom and a pot along with them. The pot was used for spitting in it, and the broom was used for sweeping their footprints, so that they would not contaminate the atmosphere of the upper caste masters. A certain Newar community of Kathmandu thought that the word „Newar‟ was derived from the word „Naiyar‟. But actually it was derived from two English words – „No war‟. Since they were Buddhists and nonviolent people, they were not recruited in the British army. In some untouchable community of India a bride had to stay with some Brahamin before her wedding. Ram was an Aryan king, who killed an indigenous brave hero Sambhuk, while the later was in deep meditation. Christ, who was condemned to be hanged on the cross by the priests and the Roman ruler, was like Buddhist monk in essence. Christ had become a monk at the age of six in Ehypt, and his Buddhist name was Naaghamadi. After his death, his desciple Paul based his Bible writing on „Dhamapad‟. Once the Buddhist religion was spread over Asia, Europe and Africa. Buddhapath was Budhapest. There is Budhakana in Mecca. Elver R. Grumer and Holger Christin were the British writers who wrote on Jesus‟s life in 1997. 93

Supernakha was the sister of Ravana. Ram had cut off her nose, when he tried to rape her. Prithivinarayan Shah was a Hindu king, who followed the example of Ram and cut off the noses and ears of the people of Kirtipur and Khambuwan. But the Khambu people elect their representatives from the Bahun or Chettry candidates, because the racial historians had once written, „Prithivinarayan Shah was the image of national unification.‟ Ravana was a learned Buddhist Mongol king. Sita had heard about his valour and his „Biman‟ ( a flying vehicle), so the enchantment was a natural inclination. As Ravana was going to visit her, she looked for a way out to be all alone by herself in her „kuti‟ (a hut or shelter), and she sent away Ram to chase a dear of gold. Ram left behind his brother Laxman to guard her in the hut. Sita was furious with Laxman and snubbed him completely. Then he drew a line of demarcation in front of the hut and left her alone there. Now Sita was pleased with it and did not hesitate to cross the border line drawn by Laxman. Ravana took her to his kingdom without having any evil intention. For her protection she was well kept there among other women. Ravana could have declared her as his queen, but he was strong morally and showed the greatness of a Buddhist Mongol. Later he was accused by the Aryans. 94

Krishna was a Hindu Aryan god, who had more then a thousand of concubines. If their god is polygamous, how can the Hindu women raise their voice against polygamy. We have to stop to worship Krishna as god, and we have to stop to visit their temple filled with filthy engravings, signs and symbols. Sita was much older than Ram in terms of their genealogy. After Brahama, Marichi and Kashyap, Sita was of 29th generation; whereas Ram was of 65th generation, which was done randomly in other scriptures and sources. Ram and Sita were brother and sister of a family tree. Such a fictitious story has mislead our society for centuries through manipulation of political and economic powers. They are leading our people in blind alley of myth. Laxman was a son of a slave woman, so he served his master Ram. His service was not rendered out of love but out of servitude. Janaki temple of Janakpur was built by an Indian prince. It is not yet century old temple. Sita had no her own parents, when she was found in a field abandoned. This episode was a tactic of the Hindu Aryans to include Nepal into Indian territory. They claim that Bharat is a Hindu Aryan land. Such story is a conspiracy to confuse other non-hindu indigenous people. According to their epic, Ravana was murdered by Ram, and they celebrate „Vijaya Dashami‟ festival to commemorate this violence with a public holiday at 95 the month of Chaitra. They celebrate their „Light Festival‟ during the month of Asoj and pay homage to goddess Laxmi. These two Hindu festivals were introduced to overshadow the major events of king Ashoka and Dr. B. Ambedker. King Ashoka had become a Buddhist follower and accepted non- violence after the fierce fighting of Kalinga. Dr. Ambedker was a convert to Buddhism and he helped seven hundred thousand untouchable downtrodden people to embrace Buddhism on 14 Oct. 1956. Buddha spread a message of peace, abandonment and generosity; but Hindu Aryans spread violence and discrimination. King Gyanendra worshipped the Hindu deities and followed their path of violence. Consequently his dreams were shattered. Even his Hindu master Shankracharya could not rescue him from drowning. As long as the Biswa Hindu Parishad and other affiliated Hindu Organisations resort to violence, deception and conspiracy, their aggressive life will not last long. Ashok Sinhal falsely claimed a number of nine hundred million as Hindu followers. Then why is the racial king not migrating from Nepal where the Hindu population is hardly 20 percent ? This is not a country of minority Hindus. We have to understand in time that, minority Hindus too get protection in secularized society, only the secular power of the state can give them protection. So the royalist and the fascist Hindus are fundamentalists and anti national 96 elements. They are actually acting as agents of perversion of truth and justice. The majority population of this land are non-hindu indigenous people, the mongoloid people. A handful authoritarian Hindu Aryans ruled over the vast non- hindu populatin of India and Nepal for centuries. Guru Nanak fought against their suppression. Jinha fought against their Hindu idiology and split the vast nation into two factions. The people of India followed different religions, but originally they are indigenous people with different languages and cultures. Those indigenous people are the mongoloid people. In Mongol language, Nepal means a land with many caves. The vast empire of Chengiskhan and Kublaikhan had spread over from Europe to Asia. They were mighty Mongol rulers. The indigenous Mongoloid people are not Hindus. I have written about this fact in my book, „Hidden Facts in Nepalese Politics‟ in 1985. Our original land has covered a vast land of China, Nepal and India. The ancient tools of our forefathers were found in Budhanilkantha, Nawalparasi, Tibrikot and Taplejung. Their time ranged from 30 thousand BC to one hundred thousand BC. A specimen of a human teeth was found in Palpa and Tribeni, estimated million years old. They were not specimens of Hindu Aryan race. 97

Adibasi or some ethnic group people are migrant people. They are not aboriginal people. This land is our original place, and our ancestors did not come here from outside. Janjaati people were the slaves of the Hindu masters, and they entered Nepal with their masters. Most of them were the slaves and porters of the Ranas. There is a surge in number of conscious people who are defying all racial attempts of suppression, discrimination and exploitation of the fascist Hindu Aryans. This revolutionary movement is getting momentum. All elite people like doctors, engineers, businessmen, politicians and others are joining in and contributing accordingly from their respective fields. If some of their names be mentioned, they were: Laluji Saway, Jyotirao Fulay, Narayan Lokhanday, Rajarsi Sahu, Guru Chand Thakur, Bhimrao Ambedker, Malcum, Ramasami, Jogendranath Mandal, R.L. Chandapuri, P. Deshmukh, Birsa Munda, Kumra Bhimu, Udham Singh, Bhagat Singh, Mahatma Prabirchand Bhajdev, Anna B.Rothay, Maharaja Sangram Saha, Raja Shanker Shah, Tandia Villa. In the same way there were couragious great women too who were fighting against the imperialists and th racial discriminatory attack of the Hinduism. Some of them were: J. Uma Saheb, Rajiya Sultana, Sabitribai Fulay, Ramabai Ambedker, Rani 98

Durgawati, Ahilyabai Holker, Awantibai Lodhi, Maharani Tarabai, Jhankaribai, Phulan Devi etc. Phulan Devi had taken her revenge against her Hindu landlord enemies, who had raped her mercilessly. V. Rajsekher is the editor of Voice. He is a journalist and a writer, who has openly criticized the Hindu artrocity and conspiracy against Dalit, Muslim, Christian, Buddhism and the MNO. His Dalit Voice is a wellknown paper, that was published from Delhi initially, and nowadays it is being published from Bangalore. The Hindu political rulers and administration are after him with frequent police harassment. He published my articles, which were prohibited in Nepal, because I had contradicted a Hindu leader, Ashok Sinhal, who had falsely claimed a quite fictitious figure of the Hindu population. The Nepali papers did not print my articles on Sidaha(Sidarth), for I had written, he was expelled from his kingdom by the Hindus. The two Sikh youths, who assessinated Indira Gandhi, were suppressed by the Hindu landlord exploiters. They wanted to be free from the bondage of Hindu exploitation. They could not bear the atrocity of the Hindu masters and they shot her when they saw their religious Golden temple being swarmed with firing squads. The non-hindu indigenous people of Nepal have not taken up the weapons yet, and they are 99 bearing the atrocity in silence. Who knows the consequence, if they have to resort to strike action. The BJP of India is manoeuvring its BHP into powerful positions and spreading its Hindu fundamentalist sentiment and ideology even in Nepal. By all means they want to suppress non-hindu indigenous people. They say, the racial rulers of Nepal had sent millions of rupees to India to bring the BJP in power. They were behind the incidents of Godhra, Delhi and Babari masjid. They burnt some Christians alive in India. They act as if they have licence of atrocity and impunity. The non-hindu people of South India are challenging the racial authority and encouraging the procession of Ravana. Bahujan volenteers are marching openly in New Delhi defying the possible attack of Hindu Organisation Youth. One of the fearless main organisers is Tej Singh. Nonhindu people have awakened to the fact that they were discriminated and exploited by the Hindus for centuries. Now they are uniting for a good cause putting aside their mutual misunderstandings and frivolous pastime. They are raising their voice for the freedom of Dalit community. A Dalit leader had invited me from Bombay to attend one of their conventions. I had an oppertunity to attend their social and political gatherings in different places, such as Nagpur, Ballarpur, Chandrapur. The mayor of Ballarpur was a Dalit woman. RL Chandapuri was a Dalit leader in Patna. I found Dalit awareness programme led by 100

Ambedker misson. Ambedker changed his belief and converted seven hundred thousand from Hinduism to Buddhism. People have raised doubts about Ambedker‟s death that He might be slain by his Hindu wife for his Buddhist stand. Ambedker Mission had invited me to visit abroad in America and England, but the Dalit group of Nepal hindered the prospective rather than promoting the propagation of their rights. Dalit people of Nepal are conditioned to beg everything from their Hindu masters, who never know to share anything. Otherwise our people would not have become landless, homeless and jobless. The racial masters became leaders and ruled over us enjoying all facilities. In the name of proletariat they became leaders procuring all rights for their selfish motive, and our poor people are rendered homeless under their fascist regime and racial dominion. The non- hindu indigenous people are totally subjugated to the racial wishes of the Hindus from the time of their ancestors. Our people do not try to realize their status of degradation, rather they prefer to be acknowledged and introduced as „Matawali‟ or „Dalit Janjaati‟, Dalits are struggling to be free of caste bondage, but the „Janjaati‟ are behaving as Dalits. There is confusion about what the correct interpretation should be regarding the defination of Janjaati. There is a crisis of identity. 101

Once the Brahamin rulers of India had a battle the British rulers, who sent an army of indigenous people to fight against them. The battle took place on the bank of Vima river on 1st of Jan. 1818. The Brahamin army compossed of 25 thousand soldiers and 5 thousand horse riders. On the British side there were only five hundred soldiers comprised of indigenous Mahar people, and three hundred horse riders with five British officers. The British rulers won the decisive battle of the day and put an end to the Brahamin rule. As the political change of Nepal in 1951 was only a transfer of power from the hands of Rana ruler to Shah dynesty; similarly the historic event of 1947 independence was only a transder of power from the hands of white Aryans to Indian Aryans. There was no behavioural change at the Hindu rulers‟ attitude towards non-hindus and others. Despite the independence of the country, the new nation was always overshadowed by Hinduism and Brahaminism. The Hindu rulers were smart enough to disseminate colourful slogans in favour of Dalits and poor indigenous people, but always with a tinge of racial hegemony. After all the topmost rulers were inordinately Hindus to the core. Consequently Hinduism flourished in secular country like India after its independence too. Even then there were some true leaders who worked hard for the general people, poor and downtrodden people. One of them 102 was a Dalit leader, named Dr. Bhimrao Ambedker. The impact of his tremendous contribution for the social change has left behind a palpable sense of relief for the Dalit and indigenous people. Gradually the Dalit and indigenous people are becoming aware of the situations, and they are raising their voice for their rights and freedom. In order to suppress this freedom movement the racial rulers are following divide and rule policy of caste system. They create discrimination even among the people of Dalit community. Bishwa Hindu Parishad has tightened its hold on the politics of the country, and the BJP is in the power. Communal violence is rife in many states with impunity. Our gullible people are either trapped in their alluring promises, or are defamed in charges of corruption and communalism. Since the media is at their control, the racial network provides protection to Hinduism and its interests. Even the declaration of republican system can not secure the rights of the common people under such racial atmosphere. So the indigenous people of Nepal are not free from anxiety. India is a secular republic country. But a Hindu group is trying to transform it into a Hindu nation. BHP and RSS are running Bajranga Sena, Shiva Sena in India, and Pasupati Sena in Nepal. It has spent a portion of its foreign aid in construction of temples in different parts of Nepal under the protection of Hindu king and rulers. A training 103 programme was initiated providing arms to the Hindu trainees. After the Hindu rulers managed to grab power in India, thousands of non-hindu people like Sikh, Kashmiri, Asamese and Manipuri people were put behind bars. Although Brahamins are in minority, they are enjoying maximum facilities by curtailing the rights of the 85 percent non-hindu people. The indigenous people of Nepal have to realize the day to day happenings of its big neighbour before eulogizing the racial precepts of a Hindu nation and nationality. Our people have to be aware of why drastic political changes are taking place in Nepal. Surya Bahadur Thapa, Kirtinidhi Bista, Tulsi Giri were powerful prime-ministers of Nepal during Panchayat period by dint of Hindu kings, with disastrous consequences of rampant corruption and nepotism. People‟s revolutionary movement brought multiparty system in Nepal, but it was never better than Panchayat period. The second revolutionary movement was a great democratic republican leap, but the practice of nepotism is still intact . Girija always had a soft spot or corner for the king. He has his racial supporters with him. Many people lost their family members during agitation, but not a single person of some leaders like Girija and , Sher Bahadur Deoba and Madhav Nepal, suffered any loss or casualty. Now those leaders are talking about „Samaabesi‟ Proportional Democracy. 104

How can monarchy and democracy get along with republican system ? The racial leaders are not ready to sideline the king from the court. Actually the monarchy system must be done with, for it is the root cause of anti national elements. It arbitrarily declared Nepal as a Hindu nation and behaved us as refugees. The demand of Hindu nation is against the sentiment of the majority people. We do not want Hindu nation and Hindu king. We want secular state. This is a serious challenge to Girija Prasad Koirala and his close allies or supporting parties. The supporters of the king too are anti-national to certain extent, since they are sucking the national coffer for vested racial interests. The anti-buddhist racial elements were never well-wishers of the Buddhist people and the indigenous people. Their only intention was the downfall of the indigenous people. They never treated us on humanitarian grounds. The racial leaders who criticised Panchayat system as a despostic and undemocratic system, they themselves actively disseminated Brahaminical Social Order in Nepal after the fall of Panchayat system. Their revolutionary slogans carried no weight as they were not put to action. During Panchayat period, land was given to landless people in Nawalparasi, Tribeni, Susta, Paklihawa, Pratappur, Rudrapur, Piparyam, 105

Hernaiya, Asniya, Bankariya. The upper caste people like Bahun and Chettry, each got four to six bigha fertile land; but others got one to one and half bigha of unfertile land per family. The land taken from the landlords during land-reform by the government was distributed among the upper caste racial people. Our land owner indigenous people of Tarai belt became landless, and the landless upper caste Hindus became landholders through land- reform programme. Same policy was applied in the hilly areas too. The landlords of the rural areas have moved in to towns and cities. In India the OBC or Other Backward Class people are being mislead by the racial rulers. The census indicates 15 percent of Brahamins and Chettries (3.5 % & 11.5%), OBC 52%, Schedule Castes 15%, Schedule Tribe 7.5%, other minority groups 10.5% . OBC gets only 6.36% of facilities, and 45.64% of facilities are snatched away by upper castes. Schedule Caste enjoys 5.92%, and its 9.08% rights have been ransacked. Schedule Tribe has got 2.42% of its rights. Other minority groups enjoy 1.80% rights, and 8.7% rights have been snatched away by others. The racial rulers are the upper caste 15% people, who have snatched away the rights and facilities of other non-hindu communities. Overall 87% Bahuns are in civil service, 97% of them are in business, 78% of them are in education. They own 94% of land in their hand. 106

In Nepal any party that comes to power, they maintain their racial balance and racial hirarchy, discriminating all other non-hindu groups like Buddhists, Muslims, Christians, Dalits etc. They do not appoint a non-hindu candidate in the ministry to solve any programme, but appoint him as a subservient tool, they may be used in any odd situation. In India 3.5% Brahamins have captured most of the high posts. For example, 19 chief secretaries in 26 states, (73%) 2376 IAS officers in 3300 seats, (72%) 310 Ast. Secretaries in 500 seats, (62%) 250 DSPs in 438 seats, (57%) 9 judges in 16 seats of the highest court, (56%) 50 vice chancelers in 98 seats, (51%) 116 judges in 330 seats of high court, (50%) 13 governors in 27 seats, (48%) 58 ambassadors in 140 seats, (41%) 190 members in 530 seats of Lok- Sabha, (36%) 89 legislators in 244 state legislators, (36%). The indigenous people of India and Nepal are deprived of opportunities in all sectors. The political parties come up with slogans in favour of the general people, but soon they forget their promises and smear the ink before it dries. The indigenous non-hindu people are barred form enjoying the political and economical rights and facilities. The political leaders are only after power. The corruption is rampant. All political leaders 107 frequented the palace to appease the imperial masters, and they achieved promotion through nepotism. In the house of 1991 there were 67 Bahuns (44 Congress and 23 Communist members). After the election of 1993, they increased this number to 96 (46 Congress and 50 Communist). Those leaders and government officials who played key role to suppress the movement of the people of Jan-andolan, they again resumed their chairs by dint of their racial connection, and even challanged the reports of the prob commision. The prob commision and trials were made a travesty of justice. Benupraj Prasai was a Congress and a Pancha too, whose name was indicated in the list of perpetrators, but had gone scot-free. When multiparty system was declared, Girija Prasad Koirala made a statement saying, “this is a victory of the Panchas too !” Surya Bahadur Thapa got a clean cheat to become the PM again. The only intention of the Bahun leaders was to reinstate the king at any cost. They were not ready for any republican change. Manu-smriti is a religious scripture of the Hindus. According to this scripture, the highest posts in army and government belong to Brahamins. A king never can give death sentence to a Brahamin, no matter how seriously he may be convicted. No one can use or destroy the wealth placed in custody by a 108

Brahamin. A Brahamin and a Chettry are complementary, so they have to march forward together. It helps them to suppress others. The king has to confiscate all wealth of a low caste man who dares to follow the profession of a Brahamin or Chettry. Manu had obliged the people to eat meat, and he had said, “If some one partakes in a religious ritual and does not eat meat, he will be reborn as an animal for twenty one times. Manu had encouraged to eat beaf meat. According to his teaching, „the whole material wealth of the earth belongs to Brahamin. So whatever he picks up, is not a case of confiscation or theft. A Sudra has no right to earn any wealth. If a Sudra earns wealth, this action causes infliction of pain and suffering to a Brahamin. It is a Brahamins‟s birth right to employ a Sudra in his work without any payment. An untouchable person should be distinctly recognised by his name and way of living. His dress should be dirty and filthy. He must not have tile roof over his head, he must stay in a thatched house. He must not wear any gold or silver ornament. When he works in any house of an upper caste person, he can consume only leftover food of that house. Every morning a king has to pay homage to a Brahamin, who is well versed in Veda and politics. He has to rule at the advice of a Brahamin. A king will never attempt to 109 posses the property of a Brahamin even at a fit of anger.” The teaching of Manu Smriti is the core of Bahunism, that has inflicted caste system, discrimination and hatred among Hindus and non- hindus. Their priests offer milk to a stone statue, but teach to drink urine. Nowadays they talk about humanity and humanitarianism, and forget how our ancestors were made landless and faceless. They spread full of lies in their teachings, their tradition was full of superstitions and anomalies. The true human history is not written. We have to be aware of this fact and rewrite our own history. In the course of history we have changed our ruling masters after every generation, but that was like jumping from one pit to another pitfall without any drastic change and achievement. The vicious cycle is the same, Hinduism or Bahunism is the same. Recently Jan- andolan or people‟s movement brought republic change in the country, many martyrs sacrificed their life, but Girija and other political parties are conspiring to reinstate the imperial rule indirectly, because they are the product of the old mentality and jump back to their racial nature quite resilently. Yesterday they were the king‟s devotee Panchas, and they became multiparty political leaders, and today same people are occupying the front chairs to claim the verdict of the revolutionary people. Why are the present political leaders not having courage to 110 kick out the perpetrators of the people‟s movement like Surya Bahadur Thapa and Pasupati Shamsher Rana ? The reason is, they all belong to Aryan racial class, and they are controlled by the Brahaminical Social Order of India. They are directed by the BHP, the stunch supporter of the Hindu king. Now we need another Jan-andolan or people‟s revolutionary movement to sweep away the remnants of fascist regime of Hindu ideology and outdated racial leaders with their king. In India many big leaders accepted Hinduism without any protest and encouraged the narrow tradition of Bahunism. Dr. Rajendra Prasas was a Sudra, but he accepted the water of the Brahamins. A certain chief minister of Kerala was a Sudra by caste, but he bowed and touched the feet of a Hindu guru, Sankracharya. The PM DeveGaud had offered a „Yagya‟ worship in Delhi in 1967, but the Brahamins refused to attend the ceremony, for they said, „...a sudra has no right to offer any „Yagya;‟ The officials of Banaras Hindu University had invited Shankracharya to inaugurate a big programme, but the guru sent his sandle in his place. The officials took his sandles and did their rituals of worship. BHP and other Hindu organisations have captured political, judicial and administrative posotions and they are terrorising other non-hindu people like Buddhist, Christian, Sikh, Muslim etc. They are 111 trying to annul the secularism by hindunising every corner of the country. VD Sawarker wrote a book on Hinduism. Five Brahamins formed a racial group in Nagpur and held a big gathering in 1928 to initiate Bahunism. This word Bahunism was termed Hindu religion. So the head of a Hindu is a Bahun. BHP is active in spreading and Nepal. They have collected huge amount of foreign currency for this movement. Shiva Sena, Pasupati Sena, Bajranga Sena are their sister organisations, which are used to terrorise the opponent groups. Their publicity net- work is vast and effective. It shows they have felt a sense of crisis and urgency. A Dalit leader Nayaker challenged the Hindu leaders by dumping the Hindu idols in a truck on the day of Ramnawami Hindu festival in Tamilnadu, and took them to throw away. He wanted to show his people how the Dalit people were being cheated through the worship of multi farious Hindu idols. Another great Hindu leader was MK Gandhi, who had observed hunger strike for the freedom of Dalits. Rather he gave Harijan name to the Dalits . Harijan was no other than a prostitute of a Hindu temple. Gandhi himself was a questionable character as he used to sleep nacked with women. Vivekananda was a Sudra of Bengali society. While staying in America he had given lectures on 112

Buddhism and a certain lady had given him fourty thousand dollars for the construction of a monastry in India. And Henrita Muller had offered finance to buy a piece of land for it. But once he landed in India he established Ramkrishna Mission with this money. When the doners enquired about it, Vivekananda said, “while staying in America I liked Buddhism, but after coming back to India I found Hinduism more meaningful.” Ramkrishna was a Bengali Bahun. He had acquired a vast land property from a Sudra queen. Hindu Aryans have exploited the indigenous people of Nepal for about five hundred years. The Jan-andolan or the people‟s revolutionary movement was a historic landmark. But the relation between Koirala and the king has jeopardized the historic consequence, because both of them are of the same origin. Since they are pillers of Hinduism, they never think of welfare and enhancement of the non-hindu indigenous people. Similarly the Hindu leaders of India join hands together in matters of discriminating and suppressing indigenous people and other non- hindus. They do not want to see our people become politically aware. They are afraid to share their political power with others. This is the same case in Nepal too. The Hindu Aryans suppressed Buddhism in India for more than thousand years, but could not 113 destroy it completely. We have to be aware of our past history and show unity in order to rescue our past glory that has been badly deformed. They divided us and ruled over us. The Buddhists were divided into Hinayana and Mahayana factions, then into eighteen groups. Now a sense of unity has been dawned among all of them. The Tharu community of Tarai belt has acknowledged the fact that they are of Buddhist origin. They were always under supperssion of the upper caste masters. Now they are demanding their rights. In 1980 they could not accept the fact when I said it in an open speech that, the are Buddhists and Mongoloid people. In 1984 again I wrote about it in Newlight weekly editorial. Buddhism was introduced in Sri Lanka in 300 BC at the time of king Dev Narayan Tisa. Buddhism was spread throughout Asia in 370 AD. The birth of Buddha was in 563 BC. At the age of 29 (534 BC), he was exiled. In 528 BC, he was enlightened. After that he started preaching about freedom, fraternity, equality and nun-recurrence of birth cycle. He preached his wisdom for 44 years and died at the age of 80 (482 BC). After one hundred years of his death, Buddhism was divided into two sects. Then after 150 years of its division, again it was splited into 18 groups. Lamaism is a branch of Mahayana, and it is heavily influenced by Brahamanism. In Newar community, their priests 114 have immitated many Hindu rituals. Most of the Buddhist rituals are hindunised, because they were under the Hindu kings and masters for centuries. Actually Buddhism has a very long glorious history. Buddha was an atheist and I worship him. I do not believe in second rebirth after death, nor do I believe in the theory of heaven, hell and rituals. Every man has a right to live happily without suffering any deficiency. And I strive for it.

Chapter 3

Maoism in Nepalese Politics

115

Communism is related to Karl Marx who innovated this revolutionary theory. He was a Jew and opposed Hitler, who had killed six million Jews in gas chambers. One of the victims who managed to escape the death sentence had written a book about such holocaust. I am not writing about marxism but about the implication of Maoism in Nepalese politics. Maoism has inflicted sufferings to many people and it has come near to its final phase. Marx was born in 1818 and had doctorate degree at the age of 23. He died in 1883 at the age of 64. In 1867 he wrote the book „Das Capital‟. He had written the Communist Manifesto at the age of 30. The industrial revolution was at its pick time from 1760 to 1860. Fredric Angles had met Marx in 1844 and he was 26 years of age. Marx was inspired by Hegel‟s theory of dilecticism. After 24 years of his (Marx) death in 1917, spread in Russia. Then Lenin and Stalin advanced their revolutionary steps during first world war and exterminated the imperial Tsar rulers and their supporters as well. About thirty lakh fifty thousand supporters were slain in a short period of seven years. The Communists used their guns and weapons more than their heads, and terrorised people to rule over them. They are in a way, similar to Rana rulers, like royal and army dictators, and their dictatorial reign do not last long in the history. Their development is under control of a handful ruling people. And to speak the truth is to challange the authority at the cost of your 116 life. Communism lasted only 75 years in Russia. Communism could not help the country to develope fully, and it collapsed in 1991. Till 1990, there were 23 Communist countries in the world. Out of them 13 were collapsed in 1991. Fidel Castro, the president of Quba is one of the richest men. The Communist leader of Romania was a dictator. According to Marx, Communism should have been flourished in industrial countries like France, England and America. But it spread in North Korea, China, Afganisthan. Communism lasted longer in China and North Korea, because of the impact of the second world war. Stalin supported China and North Korea. Russia was second powerful country of the world. Both Russia and America were beating each other for world supremacy. Now America has come forward. In China and Korea it was always a struggle among indigenous people themselves, a tug of war between haves and haves not, or between rich landlord rulers and poor suppressed peasants. But the political struggle of Nepal and India was of different nature, it was between Hindu Aryan rulers and the vast majority of non-hindu indigenous people. Hindu Aryans in India are 15% . If we seperate them, the Bahun population is only 3.5%, who have occupied 87% of posts and jobs in civil service, 97% in business, 78% in education, and 94% of land. On the 117 other hand, 85% of population has occupied 2% land. The upper caste Hindu people had come to Nepal in 1495, and gradually they took the land from local indigenous people. Now they are 20% in number of total population, but they have occupied 80% of property, occupation and business, 60% of land. The indigenous non-hindu people are 80% in number, and they occupy 7% of land at their hand. And 2% of our people are employed in different services or jobs. This rough analysis reflects the condition of our vast majority of people who are bound to survive under poverty line. The political parties are racial parties, and the political leaders are racial leaders. So it is no wonder to find contradiction between the racial leaders‟ publicly expressed statement and their actions. Their slogans are lies. They are just a bunch of hypocrites, who are never concerned about the welfare of the non-hindu people and other communities. But ironically our naive indigenous people are trapped into their skilful political manoeuvre. There is more political freedom in India than in Nepal, but the political leaders of Nepal are not concerned about the nation as a whole, they lack consolidated far sighted national vision for the sack of their communal racial interest. At last a new generation is emerging, and some leaders are coming up. It will take time for them. Till now other leaders were of dual character, so they bargained 118 away the freedom of the people. The real bargaining power was at the hand of the palace. The mass people and the civil societies took to the street and the unsurmountable supreme ruler was brought down to its knees by Jan-andolan or people‟s revolutionary movement. It was not sole achievement of any particular party or leader. At present the people‟s mandate is resting on such leaders who are again bargaining with reactionary forces. The royal institution is seeking to land on safety zone. Now is the time to look for such dedicated farsighted leaders, through whom all reactionary leaders can be sidelined for the creation of a new nation. The leaders from the village level to the parliament are advocating that the country should become a republic, but at the same time adding a tone of monarchical democracy. The revolutionary movement of the people was not waged for the reinstatement of the monarchical democracy, but for the confirmation of republican, for which the people had sacrificed their life on the street. The leaders are rather intriguing on the pretext of transition period. People should have come in the front line with their own president instead of Gyanendra or Paras, who should be behind bar by this time. Then only the reactionary force and their supporters would not have opportunity to raise their head against republic movement. BP had stressed on democratic socialism, whereas there is no socialism in democracy. In our 119 context, democracy is feudalism, and the head of it is its imperialist. Sunyat Sen was the first president who revolted against imperial dectatorship in China. BP was released from jail in 1968, and he left Nepal for India. At that time was called Nepali National Congress. BP signed in a mutual accord on January 1947 with India and accepted that Nepal and India are culturally, religiously, economically, socially and politically intact. He forgot the welfare of the indigenous people of Nepal . That is why, Ganeshman Sing was regarded as a commander of , he was not recognised as a politician by his party members. The position of Ram Bahadur also is regarded as a Mao commander of the party. In 1947, the Congress Party made a statement saying, „Nepal and India are not two separate countries. Nepal is a part of India, racially and economically.‟ Today whatever political difference we see between Nepal and India is only a mock battle done with subtlety by racial rulers. They are never concerned about the welfare of the nation, they never acknowledge the genuine children of the nation; because they consider it as the dawn of their downfall. BP was compelled to leave India after the government provisions and facilities were removed. He came back to Nepal in 1975 and seeked cooperation of the king. His party aligned itself with BHP and at its instigation made an appeal to India 120 against China, saying, „China would encroach on the border of Nepal, so India must interfere on this matter.‟ But it was all a hoax, because it never happened that way. His own brother GP Koirala had said in 1968, „Today the political situation is same as that of 1950. Nepali Congress does not go after India or any foreign country for any help.‟ But when he saw the achievement of the republic movement, he became the PM, and he appealed to the government of India and UNO for their support. I had thought that he was a leader of pretty high calibre for the post of first presidentship, and I had mentioned in an interview of Janastha newspaper on 16th Nov, 2005 that, GP Koirala and Mao leader Puspa Kamal Dahal are the two eligible candidates for the post of first president. By any means I wanted to indicate termination of an imperialist system or rule. It was the timely demand of all revolutionary people and intellectuals. But all hopes were frustrated by the reactionary force. People are always led by their leaders, who have tarnished image of themselves. Corrupted leaders can not lead people. A true leader is farsighted as JF Kennedy who could forcast the fall of Berlin wall and the unification of Germany territories long before his death. Unfortunately our leaders have no political vision. They are only concerned about the number of votes during election period, after which they run after the powerful 121 servants of the palace in order to secure a place in the ministry. Even after republic movement, those old fashioned leaders are talking about democracy of outdated model ignoring the possibility of a president in place of the ousted king. The movement of 1990 had opened door of multiparty system, and the political leaders had a real tussle among themselves for power equation. The leaders and ministers were at loggerheads over the simple issue of code of dress, for they had argued that the Rajasthani dress of the king was the national dress. Actually we need a president not a particular dress of a particular race. The political struggle in India and Nepal is of unique nature for the outsiders. The leaders of the political parties being Hindu Aryans have discriminated and suppressed our indigenous people and others. The indigenous non-hindu people are fighting for their fundamental rights. The word „Janjaati‟ was introduced after 1990 on account of the state conspiracy. The racial rulers are plotting to register the indigenous people in „Janjaati‟ proletariat class, who may be exterminated in course of time. The political parties are in favour of spreading the use of this word. Mohan Bikram Sing and Suresh Ale had played vital role in its period of innovation. This „Janjaati‟ word was coined during a communist meeting in Gorakhpur. 122

During long-march of the revolution, Mao had covered a distance of 12500 km. in two years‟ time (1934-36), and the landlords and exploiters of the villages were slain in course of his long march. At the same time he gave the following instructions to the people: - Do your work honestly, - Do not extort a single penny of the people, - Give back anything you found, - Pay attention to following eight points: 1. Speak politely, 2. Pay the price when you buy anything, 3. If you have borrowed anything give it back, 4. If you have damaged anything pay the price of it, 5. Do not offend public and do not force them to swear, 6. Do not waste grains, 7. Do not interfere with the women‟s liberation, 8. Do not mistreat the promises. (from Red Book) 123

We hear about the Maoist of Nepal and their violence, their rampant extortion. Their leaders were in big cities of India for eight years. Only their village workers were fighting actively for them. They closed down village schools and our indigenous children were deprived of education. Our people faced the problem of unemployment. But they were enjoying a city life and their children were getting highclass education of feudal nature. In feudal system the landowners exploit their tenants. In Nepal the Maoist workers plundered even the property of middle class people leveling them as feudal lords or short of them on the ground of one sided arbitrary judgement. In fact twenty percent upper caste people are the genuine feudal class people. The fight for the cause of Maoist movement in Nepal can not capture the whole nation. Once the Maoist group comes in full power to rule over the nation, the public will realize its limitations. Maoist movement is not a genuine fight for our vast people. One day this fight will erupt, between the indigenous people and the Hindu Aryan people. The time was not ripe for us, so I had to restrain the urge to allow my workers to take arms for the fight. To take up arms is easy, but to maintain its discipline and control it is difficult. That is why sometimes the Maoist workers are not following the orders of their commanders, and they are terrorising the helpless people and ruling over them. Why don‟t they have guts to terrorise the royal landlords and their co-feudals ? Why are they not 124 able to distribute the land of royal tea-garden in Jhapa to the landless peasants and workers ? In 2001, I had visited Taplejung. You could see the presence of Maoist cadres in the market place. Next morning I marched with my friends to attend our programme in a remote corner of the village. On the way we heard the sound of three gun- shots. Next day we came to know that the Maoist cadres had tried to frighten us in order to discourage our workers from attending the meeting. In 2001, I had thought of taking up alms from that area. But I could not ignore the fact that our indigenous people were being used by all political parties, and our own youth would die in the fresh encounter. The palace and all political parties would take a united stand to exterminate the indigenous mongoloid people. The political events took diverse changes after the palace massacre. The upper caste Maoists have openly said that they are able to subjugate the indigenous people to their wishes and control. In the west of Nepal they claim, they are able to rule over our people by making them fight among ethnic groups. It is often heard, the Bahun Maoists are giving a lot of trouble to other ethnic Maoist cadres. Even in the case of abduction, the Maoists are abducting only indigenous youth, and making victims of barbaric tortures. Why the kidnapping of a Bahun or a Chetty is not 125 occuring in their jungle camp ? The present situation is not better than that of Panchayat period. Our villages are still backward and undeveloped . The communist dictatorship in Nepal is not less intensive than that of other dictators‟ rule, like that of Hitler, Musolini, Sadam and Musarraf. It was thought that the inception of the Maoist movement took place in the palace, because the intention of the palace was the annihilation of the Mongol National Organisation (MNO). The MNO had strongly propagated its national identity and had advocated its demands, such as – „We are Mongoloid people, non-hindu indigenous people. We refute all suggestions of observing Hindu festivals, for we are not Hindus. We refuse to acknowledge the claim of the Hindus nation. Such claim of a Hindu nation is like a death-rattle for the vast non-hindu indigenous people. A Hindu king is only a king of a minority Aryan group, who are Bahuns and Chettries. So we refute the slogan of a Hindu nation. Nepal must become a secular country.‟ The upper caste racial rulers did not like such revolutionary slogans, because such slogans would surely awake all non-hindu people of Nepal, India and the world; and they would realize how they have been cheated by the Hindu rulers for centuries. Once a Rai teacher of Taplejung was going down to Jhapa. A Bahun teacher of the same place 126 asked him to take a letter to Jhapa, but secretly informed the police that a Maoist cadre was carrying a secret letter to Jhapa. On the way the letter carried by the Rai teacher was found out in a police search, and the unfortunate teacher was shot by the police force. All know well how the Maoists obtain money by extortion, for which act they use the means of violence and threats. Even Junga Bahadur Rana did not resort to such violence and terrorism during absolute rule of anarchy. One can imagine, what will be the situation of the nation if they come to the power. On 29 Dec. 2003, a member of the MNO was abducted by a group of Maoists, who debated about the future prospects of the MNO and asked him, „Why do you join the MNO, that will never come to power ?‟ The MNO cadre was a Limbu youth, who enquired about their affirmative question. And the Maoist with Aryan face said, „Because the Maoist movement was launched to finish the Mongoloids.‟ And ironically, they have recruited our Mongoloid youth on regular basis. They are using our non-hindu indigenous children for their discriminatory racial cause. Our MNO workers suffered a lot at their hands. They were victims of their extortion and violence untill their Bahun cadre, Kiran Pokherl was captured in Siliguri. The MNO workers of Jhapa and Ilam could not sleep in peace due to their extortion campaign. 127

I had tendered a petition to the king Birendra on 15 Dec, 1995, and asked him to declare Nepal as a secular country declaring himself as a lifelong . I requested him even to declare provincial rule. But after two months of my petition, the Maoist movement started and soon escalated into people‟s revolutionary movement from the west side of Nepal. On 8 Nov. 2001, the workers of the MNO burnt the copies of constitution in Dolkha and Rupandehi districts. Gyanendra had declared himself as a king at that period. We had made a series of protest programmes, that included burning down of „daura suruwal‟ the imported national dress of Nepal, „Ramayana‟ of Bhanubhakta, and the royal family photo of king Gyanendra. We discarded the election of „Nagar Palika‟ in 2006, and supported strongly for constitutional republic. We held mass meeting and ralies in Kakervita on 11 Feb. 2006. All these protest programmes were held by Mongol Mukti Sena, who publicised the slogans through pamphlets, in which were written, „Stop the fake election. Stand for republic. Renounce the monarchical democracy. Down with the communal election commission ! Long live the MNO ! Give registration to the MNO ! Declare the constitution assembly !‟ The Maoists called a nationwide strike and obstructed our programmes. The youth of Mechi 128 zone were barred from admission in police recrutement, because they were asked the following questions at the time of their interview – “Are you a member of the MNO ? Do you know the MNO leader Gopal Gurung ? Have you seen him and heard his public speech ?” etc. Any sort of answeres of these questions would disqualify our youth. Two MNO candidates had registered their names from Dolkha district during the election of 1993. Both candidates were abducted by the party members of Congress and Communist parties. They even damaged the house of a MNO candidate in Ramechap by throwing stones on top of his house. And the same candidate was made victim of caluminies defaming him with garland of shoes and smearing his face with dust of smoke by the Maoist cadres. The Maoists who belong to the higher caste of the Hindu Aryans, their behaviour towards our indigenous people is the same as that of the imperial and upper caste racial rulers, there is no any substantial difference. But they are being supported by our non-hindu people in all respects. They get votes from our indigenous people and rule over us. Our youth join in Maoist army and fight for them. After all the racial Hindu rulers become powerful. The racial rulers speak about Marxism and Communism, and exploit our people with their empty rhetoric. The rule of the proletariat and the just society without any exploitation is a political 129 rhetoric for capturing voting booths in more conventional ways. These are unfulfilled slogans for ages; because our people were poor, they are still poor, and will remain poor under the discriminatory racial domain. Our poor people are deprived of their identity, for the Hindu Aryan leaders have led our people astray by their misleading political slogans. And Communism is their last political weapon to mislead our people in Nepal and India. China, Japan, South Korea are Mongol countries. But they are more developed countries. Nepal was always ruled by Hindu Aryans, and relatively it is a backward country. Nepal has to borrow even dumping containers from other countries. It indicated how poor the country is. Nepal as a nation is a failure, because the rulers and leaders are devoid of nationalism. They are always occupied with their discriminatory racial politics. They were never sincere rulers of the mass people. Their forefathers begged and hoarded their wealth for themselves; the practice of which has been developed in the form of today‟s rampant corruption. The reason of this malpractice could be that, they know that it is not their ancestral land. Although the Maoists are fighting for a good cause, their leaders know that, they are not ultimate winners. Their downfall is predictable. Their movement for the abolition of the monarchy system 130 and the establishment of constitutional republic is praiseworthy as long as they are sincere in their move. Otherwise the handover of power is not the solution of our national problems. It is not easy for the Maoist leaders to maintain discipline among their cadres. Only through republic movement their leaders can survive in coming days. Otherwise the corrupt leaders have no future. At present the reactionary forces are being activated in support of the royal parties. A certain Maoist leader had said in a speech, „If we rule over Nepal for ten years, we will make a Switzerland out of it.‟ It was a childish talk. also had made once such claim. Just a road access in remote area is not a Switzerland. No one can believe such a bluff except their own cadres. The Communist cadres who totally rely on their leaders, know little about the outside world. When I visited North Korea, the guide took me to a harbour and told me, „Japanese ships come here, and this if the biggest harbour of the world.‟ Actually it looked like a rural seaport. One morning we had an appoinment to visit Kim-il-sung, whose photos and quotes were lavishly displayed in the hotel. We could see his pictures and praises everywhere in factories, newspapers, books, TV shows. Such legacy of individual worship would help to eulogise the achievements of the Maoist leaders, among whom Puspa Kamal Dahal‟s name is highly acclaimed even 131 at this transitional stage. Who knows, they may set aside a budget for this purpose, if they come in power tomorrow. After North Korea and Beijing, I reached Hong-kong. It was totally a different world, no more any suffocation and fear. Mao himself had admitted, „Political power comes from the barrel of a gun.‟ Once it might be true, but the time has changed. Communist rule brought by first and second world- wars, is crumbling down already. The third world- war will never establish a communist rule in any part of the world. The people of Nepal have undergone the pleasure and pain of communism, and they are still poor and discriminated as ever before. May be, Maoism was suitable for the poor people of a certain period that covered a time of 1949 to 1959, and millions of people were killed mercilessly at that period. The feudal lords and the peasants were of the same race or group in China. Now the terrible display of Maoism is no more in vogue in its own birth place, for its days are counted. Mao had three wives. His third wife was in the gang of four. Mao had told her, „You did not let me live or die in peace.‟ She died in prison. The communists finish off their hostile suspects in the game of power. Ratna Bantawa of was killed by his own communist comrades, who were Bahuns by caste. I have written about Ratna Bantawa in my book „Hidden Facts in Nepalese Politics.‟ The MNO 132 members have erected a statue in his honour. In the case of Madan Bhandari, his death has raised a question of conspiracy, and that possibility can not be ruled out altogether. Even Mao had conspired with his comrades against some influential leaders like Deng-tsio-peng, whom people had paid great respect. People are bound to remain quite in front of a dictator. They do not express their grudge against their rulers out of fear. Consequently their descendants inherit their power after them. In North Korea, Kimjong-ill became the president after his father. Maybe the son of Puspa Kamal is in line. It is already 27 years, I have been fighting against racial discrimination in Nepal. I have seen that, all self proclaimed radical leaders have oppressed my voice and have given tacit concent and support to fascist regime and racial discrimination. We had an open Mongol session on 7-8 Sept. of 1979 in the capital of Nepal. Not a single newspaper dared to carry the news, because it was all about the non-hindu Mongol movement. Only a newspaper from India, „The Times of India‟ had printed the news for two days. The demand of this Mongol session was all about the secular state and provision of provincial rule. After that it was published in Newlight weekly editorial, the same month. It was a call for the unity of the indigenous people. 133

„The Hidden Facts in Nepalese Politics‟ was published in 1985 for the first time. In its second edition I was put behind bars, for the Hindu Aryan rulers were allergic to the abbreviation MNO and the Mongol word. I am glad to hear that, the party leaders of all groups are echoing my ideas and words that I had already reflected in 1985. I had mentioned 20% of Bahun and Chettry population. And the census showed 16% of Chettry and 12% of Bahun, instead of 4% of Bahun, because they have easy access to all facilities in Nepal, and the Bahuns of Assam, Darjeeling, Deheradun and Sikkim have acquired the citizenship o Nepal through racial connection. I met a Bahun priest in Sikkim, he had acquired the citizenship from Itahari in Nepal, for he was related to Koirala family. The CDOs of Nepal are helping them in this racial rackets with impunity; whereas the non-hindu indigenous people of Nepal are deprived of their birth rights by the same racial officials. The radical slogans that I propagated at the risk of my life since 1979, are recently being publicised by the leaders of all parties. The people revolted against the imperial rule and got secular right at the cost of many lives. The leaders of the older generation are not ready for changes, and they are hetching plots and conspiracies as reactionary forces against the wishes of the mass people. They care little for republic. Corruption is rampant, that 134 was the byproduct of the despotic Panchayat rule. Surga Bahadur Thapa was one of their leaders. There are other corrupt leaders and ministers of the Panchayat period within the reactionary forces. The pro-palace leaders are not the leaders of the people. They belong to old middle ages, dark ages of fifteenth century. They can not lead our people with their shallow thoughts and whims. Man should be guided by his profound thoughts and wisdom, that indicate his progress or downfall. Recently Krishna Pahari admited in his speech that „King is not a symbol of unity, but an obstacle.‟ Narhari Acharya has conceded that the division of political zones should not be on communal and racial basis. In 1973, I had openly declared that, „The king is an imperialist ruler, he is not the symbol of unity;‟ and I had suggested that, political areas should be based on the names of the rivers and mountains. And I had given similar suggestions during 1990 constitution draft period. The manifesto of the MNO was written in 1 Jan. 1989, when I was in jail, and the provision of paratroops was mentioned in the manifesto. The same statement was repeated by Acharga in his book. I had mentioned in my book of 1985, that the army was not needed in Nepal, for it is expensive, and at the same time it is continually being misused for boosting racial discrimination and suppresion by the 135 imperialist racial rulers. Rather with that budget the nation could have progressed relatively. The topmost Maoist leader has told to the journalists and the social leaders, „The army has done nothing except to kill Nepali people. Can it fight with India or China ? No.‟ (Kantipur, 17 June, 2006). Similar statement was published in my book in 1985. I had further mentioned that, demand of peace zone for Nepal is not needed, because Nepal has no right to demand for peace zone, since it has been sending mercineries to other countries to kill their citizens. Its demands for peace zone is the annulment of any sort of national contingent that slaughter its own citizens. The political events are the evidences of how they are being used against the citizens of Nepal. The Nepali armies are slaughtering Nepali peop0le. The 80% non-hindu mongoloid people are beef eaters, and they were deprived of their rights after the hindunisation of Nepal. Nepal is our land. I think, it is a strong step of the Maoists to raise the issue of Tamuwan, Magarat, Tamsaling, Kirat regions etc. May be it is their diplomatic design in order to catch the sentiment of the diverse indegenous ethnic communities. I have been fighting for republican in Nepal since 1979. Only in a secular country people of all races and classes will have equal rights, and can compete even for the topmost ranks like that of the president, Prime Minister, Commander in Chief etc. All religions may 136 be allied in a secular state. India is a republican country. There have been many prominent presidents and PMs of the Sudra class, or Sikh and Muslim communities. Each state has its own Chief Minister. We too should have similar type of republican system with provincial rules, that may provide equal oppertunities to all in all sectors. The word Kirati was used in Atharva Veda, a Sanskrit literature, a product of the Hindu Aryans. And in 1990 this term was brought into use by those who refused to identify themselves as Mongol people intrigued by the Hindus. They accepted rather Hindu „Janjaati‟ identity, which was a racial conspiracy to overshadow the Mongol identity. They are being misguided by the discriminatory racial plan of the Hindus. There is possibility that the of the Kirat area may discard other communities in their area. That may create problems and confusion of tracing the ancestral places of all communities. If the communities like Gurung, Magar, Tamang go back to their ancestral places of Nepal, the Bahuns and Chetries have to trace their ancestral places in different parts of India. Then where will the untouchable castes go to claim their shelter ? Kirat word is applicable only to few Limbu and Rai. Similarly Magrat, Tamuwan, Tamsaling words have limited scope. These words may catch the sentiment of a particular group for some vested interests, but in the long run the consequence is not favourable. Other 137 non-kirati people never support the Kirati people even in their own domain. The rule of terror will not last long. Once a royal police had terrorised the village people, but today they are not afraid even to face the army. Gyanendra himself is in a position to ask forgiveness from the people for his atrocities. Some Limbu leaders have raised their sentimental demands. How many of them are ready to fight for it literally. The Maoists are giving them sentimental support. But there is no guarantee of it. Once the Maoists come to power they may refuse to grant their demands. Such communal sentiment and strategy are not the solution of the racial problems. The intimidatory tactics and fear psychosis spread by the Maoists will not last long. Because of the diplomatic dealing with the palace the Maoist movement could sustain to certain extent. The palace and Gyanendra wanted to create a danger of political extrimism with the hope of garnering full support from the western countries, America and India, who are anti-communist nations. The intention of such imprudent move was to continue the imperial rule of the palace. The Indian Brahamin rulers had openly declared the king of Nepal as a Hindu emperor, and had fully supported the palace in all respects. King Gyanendra was engaged in spreading terror in the country; he was no better than Musarraf 138 of Pakistan. The Maoists were spreading anti-Indian slogans and were digging bunkers in fear of possible invasion. We need to understand about the Mongol politics that is being waged since long time for the welfare of non-hindu indigenous people, who are in majority and are potential to fight for their rights and freedom. In China, majority of the poor people were being exploited and ruled over by a minority group. In South Africa, a handful white people had ruled over the vast indigenous black people, who fought back unitedly and broke the chain of white rule that had lasted for 350 years. The indigenous people of Bolivia also got freedom under the leadership of Morales, who became the first president of the country. The political scenario of Nepal is more or less similar to that of South Africa and Bolivia. The vast indigenous people are being termed as Dalit Janjaati. Our poor people are being duped in different sorts of slogans, even the Communist slogan is a deception, because of its racial nature. In 1990 a new constitution was drafted by 51 members, and 33 of them were racial Bahuns. Other communities were not represented in it. The election commission did not recommend the identy of the MNO, and it was not allowed to be registered. It was an example of blatant racial discrimination. But ironically they claimed that the 1990 constitution was the best one in Asia. Now the drafting of 139 another constitution is in the offing, and we have to see the result of it. The poor people sacrificed their life to uproot the imperial power and to install republican government. But some persons who were fortunate to hold high posts after the movement, are questionable. Such reactionary forces are against the spirit of the movement and deceiving the people. One of them was Girija Prasad, who proposed the erinstatement of the kingship. Ramsharan Mahat alloted a budget for the palace and supported the system of feudalism. All those leaders have come from the background of feudal system and have strongly supported the monarchy system, because they themselves are the feudal lords of remote villages and districts. To establish a Hindu king as a head of a secular state is a conspiracy and a deception to the mass movement. How could a nation expect welfare from such leaders ? A long history of the movement has been wasted in their hands. Those exploitors must be done with, and eradicated without any question of compromise. They are reactionary forces, who incessantly push back the nation for their vested interests. The Maoists who are active in India and Nepal will not be able to capture the whole nation as they have dreamt. To spread terror is one of their tactics, after which they succumb to the temptation of survival justifying their achievements and 140 overcoming their reticence. The poor people supported them and fed them out of fear. Most of their fighters are from the exploited communities. They are indigenous and Dalit people, who have bleak prospect, but forced to march for a quest of a political utopia. How the movement of Maoism was started in Nepal ? CPI started in India in 1921. It flourished during the period of 1945 and 1948. They had freed thousands of poor peasants after slaughtering around two thousand of arbitrary exploitors, who were mostly upper caste landowners. The government had to use arm force to subdue the rebels in 1948. They managed to capture some seats in legislative assembly during the election of 1952. They were from the states of Bengal, Kerala, Andra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Later a Marxist party was formed in 1962, when scuffles broke out between India and China. When a Marxist Leninist party was formed in 1967, they started revolutionary movement with full arms under the banner of Naxalites. Their leaders were Charu Majumdar and Kanu Sanyal. In a scuffle a police officer was killed with others, and it created sensation in the whole country. In a short period of two years the revolutionary group helped the peasants to capture thousands of hectre of land in different places, mostly in Medinapur, Jalpaiguri, Chinapur and other areas. After two years Indian Communist Party splited into two factions and the 141

Maoist group became active with its own separate identity. Charu Majumdar was their head, but he died mysteriously in Calcutta jail in 1975. After mysterious death of the leader, other Naxalite rebels spread rapidly in other parts of the country. When the communist movement was strongly supported by the proleteriate class, it gained momentum everywhere. But in course of time when the middle class educated leaders, being products of capitalist education, got hold of the rein, unfortunately the genuine proleteriate class could not realise how they had been duped and exploited in the name of movement and party; because they were slogging and dying for others. Thsi is what happened in Nepal. The indiscriminate use of force and weapons has created a reign of terror among unfortunate poor people. Some of their leaders are looting innocent people and getting rich. Even some Maoist leaders have ammassed a fortune during their time of extortion. They are smart enough to grab the oppertunity of power and hegemony. They have little confidence in what they are doing, and they do not believe they can run a nation imposing arbitrary rule on others. In Thailand, around 500 students left their study and joined Communist Jansena (people‟s army), without any achievement in the long run. In Phillipines too the number of communist gorilla 142 fighters was over lakhs. But their daring feats sank into oblivion at last. The Maoist leaders of Nepal, especially those who have earned fortune, are close to the palace. On 19th Feb. 2005, a helicopter reached Manipur of Surkhet, which was an area of the Maoists. Narayan Pun, a puppet of the palace was behind this event. The medicine supply worth of more than nine lakhs, bound for a health post of Mugu district, was mysteriously missing from the returning helicopter. Kishor Shrestha has revealed a clandestine meeting of king Gyanendra with Narayan Pun, Rameshnath Panday and Badri Mandal at Shanker Hotel, and they were sent for a talk with the Maoist leaders. It was on 27 April of 2003. And on 23 of June, Puspa Kamal Dahal and Dr. arrived here in the capital at the cover of a night, and stayed at the grand residence of Ramkagi Panday at Jharuwa Raci VDC for three nights. The house was heavily guarded by the Maoist army. The landlord host was a waiter of an ordinary hotel a few years back, Now he is a millionare and has managed to pacify the Maoist leaders with handsome donations. Similarly a rich man named Roshan Soni had come into contact with the topmost Maoist leaders. Such neo-fascist trait is commonly found in other parties and Maoism. 143

The utopian propaganda of the proletariate contradicted the statement of their topmost leader, because Mr. Dahal had said, „We will recognise the monarch, if the Constitution Assembly endorses it.‟ It is a conspiracy of silence to legitemise the fascist group and power. The Hindu fundamentalist Aryan leaders are conspiring to abort the expectant republican mandate given by the people at the cost of their life. Let the republican slogan of the people be not limited in mere slogan. Some UML leaders are creating a new wave of Janbaad slogan vaguely, and looking for a possible restoration of kingship in republic, without realizing the true sense of Janbaad. BP Koirala and the leaders of Congress party had ignored the fact that, „Socialism is possible only in Republican set up, but not in democracy.‟ Similarly the UML leaders are erroneously attributing Janbaad to kingship, which is impossible. Janbaad slogan was initiated by Sunyat Sen, the first president of China. Sunyat Sen was not a communist. He had placed the people in the first place, not the king. For him it was a government by the pople, for the people and of the people. A Janbaad with the king is not immaginable. May be, the two topmost leaders of Maoist and Congress parties have tacit agreement to endorse such vital agendas, who knows ? All citizens have equal rights to take part in the election. The Maoist leaders vehemently opposed the feudal and capitalist system of education and closed 144 down the remote schools, but they sent their children to big cities for the same type of education. Rabindra Shrestha, a Maoist central level leader had definately said, „Gyanendra had staged a coup at the tacit nod of Prachanda. Dhirendra had said that his second brother had consented to go for it. Prachanda had met Meshnath in Delhi. King Birendra was unable to visit them. Rabindra‟s interview was published in „Jan- Astha‟ newspaper. It shows that the first leader of the Maoist had a close link with the palace. It also indicates a possibility of deception in execution of CA election, which may turn out disastrous. A comrad A. Kali had expressed the following comment about Nepali Maoist leaders, „A Bahun Prachanda the top leader of the Maoist Bahun party is not following the Maoist policy, he is enjoying his every whim. His children are having English medium education, but others‟ children are forbidden.‟ (July, 2006, Dalit Voice). The Maoist group of Nepal had a link with the group of Indian Maoist. Later the Peoples‟ War Group stopped to support its Nepali counterpart, and they justified their action saying, „Now the days to win a war with rifles are gone. That limits our movement to terrorism.‟ After that, nepotism and favoritism ensued within the party. Prachanda followed the example of Kim-il sung, whose son was made party chief after him. He made provision of English education for his children, who are being 145 groomed for the highest post of the party in future. The chief of Peoples‟ War Group, Konda Palli, was against the arm revolution of the Maoists, and he had made a film on it. At the time of UNO Sub-commisons‟ meeting in 2005, a report published from Genova had reported that, the Maoists of Nepal are the enemies of Dalits (suppressed untouchable castes). The agenda of the meeting was the human rights in Nepal. It was reported, the Dalits of Nepal are the victims of the local government and the Maoists. It was presented by Smita Narula, the executive member of the Human Rights. Mao Tse Tung had given an ideal picture or introduction of a genuine communist, who according to him, must be big hearted, filled with zeal of revolution, maintainig good rapport between party and people without any vested interests. Are the Maoist comrades of Nepal classified by this standard ? Have they really accepted the formative thoughts of their great leader Mao in their daily life ? Mao had shed guiding light in all sorts of struggles. The political struggle of Nepal is not limited in theories of isms. Actually our struggle is entangled between two major factions, they are - Hindu Aryans and non-hindu indigenous people. A communist conference held in Biratnagar introduced the word „Aadivasi‟ for both our people and their people; 146 hinting that our people migrated here from North, and their people migrated here from South. It was thought, the racial problem was solved. But in 1960, BHP of India boosted the racial image of palace and declared Nepal a Hindu nation. This indiscriminate declaration overtly sidelined other indigenous people like non-hindu Buddhists, Mislims, Sikhs, Jains, Christians etc; who were brought down and were behaved as refugees. After 1990, some highest caste Nepali Bahuns and Indian Hindu Organisations created a great nuisance of introducing the term „Dalit Janjaati‟ (untouchable) amongst our casteless people. All parties of Nepal, even Maoist party, admitted the derogatory expression of the Hindu caste system. A budget was alloted for this caste movement. Mass media was used for it. The Dalit Janjaati was regarded as the lowest tier of caste system. Ironically some literate Janjaati people accepted this discrimination and became Sudra, for they were given some racial privileges and jobs in the government posts. They did not realise that they were made nomads or gypsies. The ancestor of the present king introduced „matawali‟ (drunkard caste), and put our people in the lowest tier of their caste system, that was equivallent to Sudra (untouchable) caste. Those Hindu kings diclared Nepal as a Hindu Nation, without considering the sentiment of the majority non-hindu people, and treated them as refugies in 147 their own mother-land . Now the despotic racial rulers have introduced „Dalit Janjaati‟, a questionable term of discrimination, that indicates a possible banishment or ethnic cleansing in near future; but at the same time reverse consequence too may take place in the aftermath of the oppression. The MNO wants to stir up: (1) Political, (2) Religious, (3) Economic, (4) Educational & (5) Social revolutions. The racial rulers, even the Maoists are not in favour of mother languages of the people. We are being misled by empty rhetoric of racial politicians and Hindu rulers. So time has come to be aware of this vicious circle, where we get bogged down since the time of racial imperialist rulers migrated here and got upper hand. Our people of Nepal and outside Nepal too, in whatever party they may belong to, or professions they are doing, they must be aware of the present chaotic situation, if they value their identity more than complacency. We are responsible for the coming generations. Empty rhetoric will lead us nowhere. Everything that glitters is not a gold ornament. The term „Dalit or Janjaati‟ is a glittery coin attempted to value our existence, because the racial political parties are trying to disallow our genuine claim that we are indigenous people, the descendants of the motherland. Surprisingly the untouchable „Janjaatis‟ of the Hindu society are celebrating indigenous year in Nepal. How could they flagrantly cheat the genuine 148 indigenous people for the greed of a few dollars. So we must be attentive to the needs of the time, keeping in mind the identity, prestige and future of our coming generations. The red colour of the MNO flag with Gurkha knife, symbolises five revolutionary movements, and its blue colour is the symbol of peace. We want peace and peaceful solutions of our movements. The active revolution will be our last resort. Some indigenous Maoist fighters had once remarked, „The Mongols are paper tigers.‟ A pen can shoot out innumerous bullets at a time. I am writing for the whole communities‟ sake, since 1979, so that they may come up unitedly and peacefully for the good of all. But if they underestimate the potentialities of the significance symbolised in the MNO flag, revolutionary steps will be taken as the last resort. That final class struggle will be for our lost soil, lost shelter and lost identity. To take up arms means to have no alternatives. Ii is not a means of terrorising people. We Mongols are nations within a nation. Tharu, Tamu, Magar, Rai, Limbu, Newar, Tamang, , Kochay, Maychay all have to fight for their rights. They have lost their rights generation after generation. More than 25 lakhs of our brave soldiers have sacrificed their lives in foreign lands, and the remittance has made others rich, especially the Hindu Aryan rulers. 149

The Janta or people are being exploited by all political parties. And 80% people of Nepal are indigenous or Mongol People. Maoist leaders exploited our illiterate and poor indigenous poeple. Maoist movement had a link with revolutionary party of America, revolutionary movement of England, and People‟s Was Group of India. LTTE of Sri Lanka had provided training to them. It is an open secret that how the Maoists terrorised people and amassed wealth looting the banks and through extortion. The UML became millionaire during its nine months‟ rule. An Indian paper Blize had remarked the wedding of king Birendra, „The weddig of a rich king of a poor nation.‟ We do not need to mention all other names of millionairs and billionairs, who would get united to suppress the poor janta or people of Nepal. Our indigenous people who are supporting them do not realise how they are being used or duped. The worst victims of their oppression and exploitation are the indigenous or mongoloid people. The Maoist rule with dictatorship type of Communism will not last long. They have to work hard and earn respect from the people, otherwise, their terrorism begets antipathy, and they lose public support soon. We all know how Lenin in Russia, Musolini in Italy, Hitler in Germany, Gyanendra in Nepal declined one after the other. The number of 150 communist countries has been drastically reduced from the global arena. The non-hindu indigenous people of Nepal have to realise in time the crux of the matter and the dissension vehemently raised by me for the welfare and upliftment of all. Let the coming generations of our people be free from all sorts of existing bondages. Let there be no any sort of exploitative practices, but a true sense of human life in every citizen coupled with all indispensable basic amenities and equal opportunities. **
