Mí- ním : bylo by pedasno psáti monografií eských vel, dokud zem své apidologicky dkladn neprozkoumáme. Nevycházeli bychom ze samých dodatk. Práv Cechy jsou apidologicky dosti zajímavý. Druhy, jimž knihy udávaly za nejsevernjší hranici stední Uhry, byly nalezeny u nás, a to ne ojedinle, nýbrž hojn (Camptopoeum frontale, Osmia tridentata, Eucera rufitarsis. Nonetheless, how the structure of the digestive system has adapted across the Accepted 21 July 2020 ant phylogeny to facilitate these abilities is still not well understood. The crop and proventriculus, Available online xxx structures in the ant foregut (stomodeum), have received most attention for their roles in trophallaxis. However, potential roles of the esophagus have not been as well studied. Here, we report for the first Keywords: time the presence of an auxiliary thoracic crop in Pheidole aberrans and Pheidole deima using X-ray micro- Ants computed tomography and 3D segmentation. Additionally, we describe morphological modifications Dimorphism Mesosomal crop involving the endo- and exoskeleton that are associated with the presence of the thoracic crop. Our Liquid food results indicate that the presence of a thoracic crop in major workers suggests their potential role as Species group repletes or live food reservoirs, expanding the possibilities of tasks assumed by these individuals in the colony.

A total of 111 valid names of outdoor species are listed based on data from museum and private collections. Over the past decade several faunistic and taxonomic changes concerning the Czech ant fauna have occurred. The species Formica clara Forel, 1886, Lasius carniolicus Mayr, 1861, Temnothorax jailensis (Arnol’di, 1977) and Tetramorium hungaricum Röszler, 1935 were recorded on the Czech territory for the first time. Further, the presence of Camponotus atricolor (Nylander, 1849) and Lasius myops Forel, 1894, formerly regarded as uncertain, was confirmed. Moreover, the status of Tetramorium staerckei Kratochvíl, 1944 was reviewed as a species. Besides outdoor species, a list of five indoor (introduced) species is given. Abstrakt: Práce obsahuje aktualizovaný seznam mravenců České republiky. Na základě údajů získaných z muzejních a soukromých sbírek je uvedeno celkem 111 volně žijících druhů.

  • Origin of Samples of Cannabis Sativa Through Insect Fragments Associated with Compacted Hemp Drug in South America

Origin of samples of Cannabis sativa through insect fragments associated with compacted hemp drug in South America. Insects associated with a seizure of Cannabis sativa L. may indicate the origin of the illicit drug. Nevertheless, no work regarding this subject has been previously published for South America. In the present investigation, seven kilograms of vegetal material (C. sativa) were inspected for insect fragments. Three species were identified and used to test the origin of the seizure of cannabis plant material: Euschistus heros (Fabricius, 1794), Thyanta perditor (Fabricius, 1794) (Heteroptera, Pentatomidae), and Cephalotes pusillus (Klug, 1824) (Hymenoptera, Formicidae). These insect species restricted the geographic origin of the drug to the Neotropical region, and their distribution patterns showed an overlap of the State of Mato Grosso (Brazil), Argentina, and Paraguay. Based on this information, two of the three major C. sativa growing areas in South America were excluded: (1) the Colombian territory and (2) northeastern Brazil. KEYWORDS.
