AES' Tuljaram Chaturchand College, (Autonomous) We are happy to release our First issue of Volume IV of affiliated to the Savitribai Phule Pune University, is one of TCC Chronicle. This issue consists of the latest updates on the leading and prestigious colleges in Maharashtra. It is the progress of the college from June 2019 to September reaccredited A+ grade with CGPA-3.55 and also recipient 2019. It's a great pleasure that we have successfully of the BEST COLLEGE and BEST PRINCIPAL awards. We For the Students 2 TCC Chronicle September 2019 Celebration of Maharashtra Day

59th formation of Maharashtra Day as well as Labour's Day was celebrated in the college on 1st May, 2019. Teaching and non- teaching staff were present for the flag-hoisting. The flag was unfurled by one of the senior employes of the college.

International Yoga Day Yoga day is celebrated every year on the 21st of June. This year, 5th International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June 2019 on the college ground. Around 200 students and staff members as well as citizens of Baramati participated in a 1 hr. mass yoga session inaugurated by Principal Dr. Chandrashekhar Murumkar. Prof. Ramchandra Jagtap conducted the session.

Celebration of Foundation Day

The college celebrated 57th Foundation Day of Anekant Education Society and the college on 24th June, 2019. Hon. Shri Arhatdas Shah (Saraf), President, Hon. Shri Jawahar Shah (Wagholikar), Secretary, Hon. Shri Milind Shah (Wagholikar), Hon. Shri Vikas Shaha (Lengarekar), members of the Governing Council, Principal Dr. Chandrashekhar Murumkar, Vice Principals, Registrar were the guest of honour. We For the Students 3 TCC Chronicle September 2019 Release of College Miscellany Anekant The college miscellany entitled Anekant, of the academic year 2018-2019, was released at the hands Hon. Shri. Arhatdas Shah (Saraf), President of AES, Hon. Shri. Jawahar Shah (Wagholikar), Secretary, AES, Hon. Shri. Milind Shah (Wagholikar), Hon. Shri. Vikas Shaha (Lengrekar) on the occasion of 57th Foundation Day of Anekant Education Society and the college on 24rd June, 2019. Dr. Seema Naik-Gosavi, spearheaded the responsibility as the Chief Editor of the yearly magazine.

Induction Programme Student Induction Programme was organized for the entry level students of all faculties from 18th July to 20th July 2019. Students were made acquainted with autonomy of the college as well as various courses, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities run by the college. Principal, Vice Principal, Registrar, HoD and the Committee Heads addressed students.

75th Birthday Celebration of Hon. Shri Jawahar Shah-Wagholikar

The college and other sister institutions run by Anekant Education Society celebrated 75th birthday of Hon. Shri. Jawahar Shah Wagholikar, Secretary, Anekant Education Society on 24th July 2019. On that occasion, Hon. Shri Arhatdas Shah (Saraf), President, Hon. Shri Milind Shah (Wagholikar), Hon. Shri Vikas Shaha (Lengarekar), members of the Governing Council, Principal Dr. Chandrashekhar Murumkar, Principal Dr. R. R. Kumbhar, Jaysingpur College, Dr. M. A. Lahori, Director, AIMS, Mrs. Rakhi Mathur, Principal, Anekant English Medium School as well as teaching and non teaching staff, family members, relatives and dignitaries from Baramati vicinity were present. Hon. Shri. Jawahar Shah Wagholikar was honored by various local bodies and eminent citizens of Baramati.

We For the Students 4 TCC Chronicle September 2019 Competitive Exam Lecture by Dr. Avinash Dharmadhikari The Competitive Examination Cell of the college organized a special lecture of Dr. Avinash Dharmadhikari, former IAS officer and the Director of Chankya Mandal Pariwar on 15/07/ 2019. The programme was for both the parents and students. Hon. Shri. Milind Shah (Wagholikar) was the guest of honour. Principal Dr. C.V. Murumkar was the President for that event. It got an overwhelming response from the aspiring students of UG and PG. Dr. Samadhan Patil is the coordinator of the Competitive Exam Cell. Address by Uttam Kamble To create social awareness among students the Women Empowerment Committee of the college organized a lecture of senior journalist and writer Shri. Uttam Kamble on 26th July 2019. Prinicpal Dr. Chandrashekhar Murumkar was the president for the programme. More than 700 students attended the lecture.

Celebration of Cargill Victory Day Department of Defense and Strategic Studies (senior and junior) and NCC unit celebrated 20th Cargill Victory Day on 26th July 2019. On that occasion, a poster presentation on war was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Chandrashekhar Murumkar and vice principal Dr. Sachin Gadekar. NCC cadets offered homage to the martyrs. A screening of war documentary was arranged for students. Prof. Devidas Bhasale, Prof. Ramkishan Awhad and Prof. Vivek Bale took efforts for this program. Book Lover's Club To inculcate reading habits among students an invited talk by Dr Ramchandra Sapkal was arranged on Veena Gavankar's book Ek Hota Karvhar on 4th September 2019. The activity was initiated under Book Lovers club which is headed by Dr. Sandeep Tapkir.

We For the Students 5 TCC Chronicle September 2019 Syllabus Restructuring Workshop of Statistics Savitribai Phule Pune University and Department of Statistics jointly organized a one day workshop on "Syllabus Restructuring of Statistics and Computer Applications of Commerce Faculty" on Tuesday 21st May 2019. Total 64 participants from various colleges from Pune, Nashik and Ahmadnagar districts participated in the workshop. The inaugural function chaired by Vice-principal Dr. Shivaji Sathe and Dr. Shivaji Kakade, Coordinator, Board of Studies was the chief guest. Dr. Rajendra Gurao, Principal, SNDT College, and Dr. Varsha Borgaonkar, Principal, Pimpari College, Pimpari, Dr. Ajit Telave, Vice-principal, Dr. Sachin Gadekar, Vice- principal, Mr. Abhinandan Shaha, Registrar were the guests of honour. The organizing secretary Dr. Avinash Jagtap, Vice- principal and Head welcomed the guest. Celebration of Independence Day College celebrated 72 Independence day of the country on 15th August 2019 with great honour and enthusiasm. Hon. Shri Sunil Shaha (Lengarekar), treasurer of AES, Baramati unfurled the National Flag in the august presence of Hon. Shri Jawahar Shah (Wagholikar), Secretary, AES, Hon. Shri Milind Shah (Wagholikar), Hon. Shri Vikas Shaha (Lengarekar) and other dignified members of the society. On that occasion Principal Dr. Chandrashekhar Murumkar, Vice Principals, Registrar, faculty members, administrative staff, and students were also present. The chief guest administered the oath of national integration to NCC cadets and also announced the opening of regular activities of NSS for the year 2019-2020. FIT India Campaign College conducted “Fit India Movement” on 29th August 2019. In the activity 1300 students participated. The live screening of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modiji's address on Doordarshan was arranged in the auditorium hall. Students actively participated in the march on the 400 meters running track of the college ground. Principal Dr. Chandrashekhar Murumkar, vice principals, Registrar Shri. Abhinandan Shah, Physical Director Dr. Gautam Jadhav, NCC Officer Prof. Vivek Bale, NSS Officer Prof Vaibhav Landage, Prof Jayendra Rane, faculty members and staff were present in great number. We For the Students 6 TCC Chronicle September 2019 Skill Development Workshop BBA (CA) department organized a Skill Development Workshop for students on 09th September, 2019. It was scheduled in three sessions. The sessions were conducted by Dr. T.V Chavan on Development of Self Confidence, Dr. U.S. Kollimath on Business Etiquettes and Grooming and Dr. A. Y. Dixit on Communication Skills. Total 145 students were present for the workshop.

New Courses College from UGC, New Delhi permission, has started two more vocational courses 1) E-Commerce and Digital Marketing and 2) Network and System Administration from July 2019. In this academic year college has also started M.A. /M.Sc. in Geography by the permission from the Government of Maharashtra. All the courses have received good response from the students.

Activities of NSS Volunteers NSS volunteers participated in various national, states, university and college levels activities such as Avahan camp. Genesee Book of World Record, swachha wari, tree plantation, health checkup camp for the university wari, anti-tobacco awareness campaign, summer internship programme, flood relief camp, pre SRD training, street play training, campus cleaning drive, poster presentation, etc. Dr. Vilas Kardile, Dr. Chandrakant Kamble, and Prof. Vaibhav Landge guided the volunteers. Inauguration of Asmita Bhittipatrak Activity To showcase the latent talent of students, college runs Asmita Bhittipatrak activity. It provides a platform to display literature, paintings, cartoons, portraits, and also graphics etc. Dr. Shripal Sabnis, Veteran writer inaugurated the activities of the year 2019- 2020 on 14th August 2019. Principal Dr. Chandrashekhar Murumkar was the President of the function. Prof. Mukta Ambhere, faculty members and students were also present on the occasion.

We For the Students 7 TCC Chronicle September 2019 Celebration of Librarian's Day The Librarians's Day 2019 was celebrated on 13th August 2019 by the department of Library and Information Science, on the occasion of 127th birth anniversary of Padmashri Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, who paved the way for library professionals by his enormous contribution to the development of libraries in India. Prof. D. V. Munguskar, Head, Librarian Mr. Amar Kulkarni, Assistant Librarian Mr. D. P. Linge, other faculty member, library staff and students were present on that occasion.

5- Days Workshop for the Teachers Tuljaram Chaturchand College and the Bahai Academy, Panchgani organized 5 days workshop for teachers on “Education in Universal Human Values” at the Bahai Academy, Panchgani from 19-23 August 2019. In the workshop 18 faculty members of various disciplines participated and completed the workshop successfully.

Celebration of Hindi Week The Hindi department celebrated Hindi Week in September 2018. The department organized various activities for students to encourage them for using Hindi for practical and creative purposes. Hon. Shri. Sanjay Bharadwaj, well-known writer was the chief guest for the valedictory function. In the function guests gave away prizes to winners of various competitions. Dr. Sachin Gadekar, Vice Principal was the President of the function. Dr. Pradeep Sarvade, HoD, welcomed the guest. Faculty members and students were also present. Tree Plantation Drive The students of Economics department and Faculty Members undertook a tree plantation drive at Aasu, Phaltan, Satara on 1st September 2019. 30 students and faculty members planted trees such as Shisam, Karanj, Khair, Tamarind, Tor and Jamun etc. which were carefully chosen because of their long life and capacity for generating revenue. Principal Dr. Chandrashekhar Murumkar guided students about the importance of trees and its conservation. Small pits were dug and saplings were planted at the hands of various dignitaries from the village. Dr Samadhan Patil, HoD, and faculty members took initiative.

We For the Students 8 TCC Chronicle September 2019 Inauguration of ELLA Department of English inaugurated the English Language and Literature Association for the academic year 2019-2020 in the presence of eminent writer in English retired Professor Dr. R. Raj Rao on 24th September 2017. Under this association various activities including Essay Writing, Poem Recitation, Speech Making, Story Telling, Enacting Scene, Appreciation of Literature and Laughter Channel etc. are organized throughout the year. Principal Dr. Chandrashekhar Murumkar was the President for the inaugural function. On that occasion Dr. Sachin Gadekar, Vice Principal, Dr. Ajay Dhavale, HoD, Dr. Suhas Raut, Chairman-ELLA, faculty members and students were present. Later a special lecture was organized for PG students Moropant State Level Debate and Elocution Competition Tuljaram Chaturchand College and Baramati Municipal Corporation organized 47th state level Moropant Intercollegiate Elocution and Debate Competition in September 2019. The competition was inaugurated on 20th September 2019 by Hon. Shri Narayan Shirgaonkar, Deputy Superintendent of Police. For the competition more than 30 teams of various colleges all around Maharashtra participated. The Prize distribution ceremony took place on 21st September 2019 in the august presence of Hon. Shri Jawahar Shah (Wagholikar), Secretary, AES, Hon. Shri Milind Shah (Wagholikar), Hon. Shri Vikas Shaha (Lengarekar) and other dignified members of the society. Principal Dr. Chandrashekhar Murumkar, Vice Principals, Registrar, faculty members, administrative staff, and students were present. Dr Ranjana Nemade, HoD, as a chairman spearheaded the responsibility. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil's 132 Birth Anniversary 132th birth anniversary of the founder of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Padmabhushan Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Tuljaram Chaturchand College and other colleges and schools from the Baramati vicinity celebrated Jayanti on 22nd September 2019. Various programmes were organized to commemorate it. As weeklong celebration elocution and many other competitions of primary, secondary, higher secondary and college students were organized and prizes were given away to the winners at the hands of chief guest Principal Dr. B P. Ronge, Founder Secretary, Swery, Pandharpur and President of the function, Principal Dr. Chandrashekhar Murumkar. Hon. Shri. Jawahar Shah (Wagholikar) was the guest of honour. Many dignitaries, principals, headmasters, teachers and students were present in great number. Prof. Rajendra Agawane was the organizing Secretary.

We For the Students 9 TCC Chronicle September 2019 Celebration of World Photography Day Department of Media and Communication Studies celebrated the World Photography Day and organized the photo exhibition on 19 August 2019. Teachers and students showcased their art. Principal Dr. Chandrashekhar Murumkar and vice principal Dr. Shivaji Sathe inaugurated the exhibition and Vice Principals Dr. Ajit Telave and Dr. Sachin Gadekar were the guests of honour. Prof Ranjeet Pandit, HoD, Prof. Jayendra Rane, Prof. Jayprakash Patil, Prof. Rahul Chaudhary and students took sincere efforts.

Memorandum of Understanding

1) Tuljaram Chaturchand College and the Bahai Academy, Panchgani have signed MoU in relation to the programme on “Education in Universal Human Values” on 18th July 2019. It aims to benefits to all the stakeholders including students, teachers, administrative staff, and authorities of the college. Principal Dr. Chandrashekhar Murumkar and Director Dr. Lesan Azadi signed the draft.

2) The department of Commerce has signed MoU with Somani business group, Baramati. This will provide students a platform to work as trainee or work apprentice with various firms of Somani group. It also aims to provide expert lectures, industrial visits and interactive sessions to students.

Study Tour 1) Department of Commerce arranged an industrial visit of the second year students at Venugopal Pvt. Ltd. (Parle G), Satara on 18th August 2019. Total 50 students visited the industry. Dr. Mahendra Salave, HoD and Dr. Meegha Badve accompanied students. 2) For third year B. Com students, an industrial visit was arranged on Wednesday, 2nd October, 2019 to Sunrise Candles Limited, Satara. 3) The study tour of Retail Management vocational department was arranged at Milind Trading Company, Baramati on 9th September 2019.

We For the Students 10 TCC Chronicle September 2019 Faculty and Student's Achievements A) Ph.D. Holders: 1) Prof. Mahendra Salave has been awarded PhD on the topic “Mahatma Phule Magasvarga Vikas Mahamandal Maryadit Marphat Vyavsaik Vikasasathi Rabvilelya Vivid Yojnancha Chikitsak Abhyas” on 4th July 2019 by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. 2) Prof. Vilas Kardile has been awarded PhD on the topic Prof. Mahendra Prof. Vilas Prof. Vikas “Enhance S / W Development Productivity by Adopting Flexible Salave Kardile Kakade Approach” on 31 August 2019 by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. 3) Prof. Vikas Kakade has been awarded PhD degree in Statistics on the subject “Some Contributions to Non-Normal and Multivariate Statistical Process Control Techniques” by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune on September 2019. B) Various Appointments/Qualified Exams etc.: 1) Dr. Mahendra Salave has been appointed as head of the department of Commerce from 4th July 2019. 2) Prof. Kalyani Londhe faculty of Computer Science has qualified UGC NET-2019 examination. C) NSS Awards: 1) Hon. Chancellor of Maharashtra state appreciated the contribution of the college in the S. P. Pune University's initiative for Genesee Book of World Record and has invited the Programme officers for lunch at Rajbhavan. 2) College won the Gold and Silver Medals for Leadership in Tobacco control from Sambandh Health Foundation, NGO, New Delhi for campaigning Anti Tobacco Mission in the society. In which 407 volunteers participated and created awareness among NSS Awards 8158 people. 3) Programme officers Dr. Vilas Kardile, Dr. Chandrakant Student's Achievements Kamble and Prof. Vaibhav Landge have been felicitated by Hon. Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Nitin Karmalkar on 5th August 2019 for their contribution in NSS. Student's Achievements 1) Mr. Sujeet Wagh, the research student at Botany department has received the Chief Minister Research Scholarship for PhD from Chattrapati Shahu Maharaj Research, Trainning and Mr. Sujeet Wagh Miss Preeti Parkale Human Development Society, Mumbai in September 2019. Dr. Mahadeo Kanade is his research guide. 2) Miss Preeti Parkale and Mr. Ranjeet Deokate, the students of Political Science department have been selected for the post of PSI. 3) The college cultural group qualified for the first round of Purushottam Karanduk 2019 and enacted one act play Shokantika on 21 August 2019 at Bharat Natya Mandir, Pune.
