Honey Bunny

1 3 oz. carrot juice Fill a cocktail shaker ⁄2 full with ice. 1 1 ⁄2 oz. orange juice Pour in carrot juice, orange juice, and 1 tsp. grenadine grenadine. Give it a good shake, and strain into a cocktail glass. Horchata

2 cups whole milk Bring milk to a boil (but don’t scald!) 1 qt. water in a saucepan over medium-high heat, 2 cinnamon sticks and simmer for 20 minutes. Pour in 1 ⁄2 cup sugar water and add cinnamon sticks. Sim- 1 mer for 10 to 15 minutes and then ⁄8 cup white uncooked rice, puréed in a blender or food processor remove from heat and discard cinna- mon sticks. In a separate bowl, com- 2 tsp. vanilla extract 1 bine sugar, puréed rice, and vanilla ⁄2 tsp. grated nutmeg extract, and add warm milk mixture. 1 ⁄2 tsp. cinnamon Give it good stir, and refrigerate overnight. Strain mixture through a cheesecloth, and garnish with grated nutmeg and cinnamon.

Liquor Lingo Horchata is a rice-, nut-, or chufa (root)-based drink flavored with sugar and cinnamon. It’s popular in Spain and Mexico.

Hot Chocolate

6 oz. milk Warm milk, vanilla extract, and cocoa 1 tsp. vanilla extract powder in a saucepan over medium 1 TB. cocoa powder heat. Pour into an Irish coffee glass, 2 TB. whipped cream and top with whipped cream. Garnish 1 tsp. shaved semisweet chocolate with shaved semisweet chocolate.

Hot
