Previous catalogues dealt with the Braconidae (Ichneumonoidea) (Occasional Publication Number 4), the Chalcidoidea (Occasional Publication Number 6) and the Platygastroidea & Proctotrupoidea (Occasional Publication Number 7). The catalogue of the Ichneumonidae provides data on the 1135 species definitely known from Ireland, of which 222 are new to the island. The authors hope that it will stimulate interest in these remarkable insects. Abstract The Irish ichneumonid fauna is reviewed and a checklist provided. Data are given for 1137 definite species, of which 222 are documented from Ireland for the first time. Introduction The superfamily Ichneumonoidea contains two families viz. the Braconidae and the Ichneumonidae. The Irish species of the former taxon were reviewed by O’Connor, Nash and van Achterberg (1999). This catalogue covers the Ichneumonidae which is an extremely large family with in excess of an estimated extant 60,000 species worldwide (Townes, 1969a). Over 2100 species in 35 subfamilies occur in Great Britain (Noyes et al., 1999). The adults are small to very large insects, most species are fully winged (with the fore wing length 2-27mm). However, a small number are brachypterous or apterous. The antenna has 13 or usually more segments. The fore-wing venation is characteristic with the first discoidal and submarginal cells confluent and (except in one or two species) with 2m- cu present. The majority are bisexual. Adults are often seen feeding on flowers. Noyes et al. (1999) give a comprehensive list of references for identifying ichneumonids. Almost all ichneumonids are parasitoids of insects or arachnids and the greatest numbers and diversity of species occur in the cool temperate areas of the world. The host range of the whole family is restricted to immature stages of endopterygote 1 O’Connor, Nash & Fitton Catalogue of Irish Ichneumonidae insects, spider egg sacs, spiders themselves, and the egg nests of a pseudoscorpion. Mus. natn. hung. 86: 79-83. Abstract - Material collected in Spain and preserved in the Hungarian Natural History Museum belonging to the subfamily Ichneumoninae is studied. The 28 species belong into 6 tribes: Ichneumonini, Listrodomini, Phaeoge- nini, Protichneumonini, Trogini and Zimmerini. Three of them arc highly important: Neotypus intermedins inter­ medins MOCSÁRY, 1883 is a species from Spain whose type is studied, Cotiheresiarches dims (WESMAEL, 1853) and Cratichneumon fugitivus (GRAVENHORST, 1829) are first records for the Iberian fauna. INTRODUCTION The Hungarian Natural History Museum houses a good series of Ichneumonidae species. We also had the opportunity to examine a considerable number of Mediterranean specimens. Howewer, all these species are badly in need of an exhaustive reclassification. Our main objective was to present new data regarding the Spanish species of Ichneumoninae, that accumulated in the Hymenoptera Collection in Budapest. Although the largest part of the Collection is based on materials obtained by SZÉPLIGETI and MocsÁRY, in this study we were highly interested in that part of KRIECHBAUMER'S Collection (mainly collected by KORB and placed in Munich: SELFA 1992) which was deposited here. Similarly, a long series of specimens recently collected by J. & A. PODLUSSÁNY was also taken into consideration. Twenty-eight species from the tribes Ichneumonini, Listrodomini, Phaeogenini, Protichneu­ monini, Trogini and Zimmerini are discussed.

(2005): Harmful occurrence of Rosy rustic moth (Hydraecia micacea) (Noc- tuidae: Lepidoptera) on hop in the Czech Republic. Plant Protect. Sci., 41: 150–157. The Rosy rustic moth (Hydraecia micacea) has been a pest of hop in Czech hop regions for a long time. It causes most severe damages in hop gardens infested by quackgrass (Elytrigia repens) on waterlogged areas. Larvae emerge from the second half of April to the middle of May. The sum of effective temperatures (SET) necessary for hatching larvae has been determined to be 78.6°C over a 4-year average. Young larvae first feed on leaves of quackgrass, and later move to hop plants where they feed inside the shoots and rootstocks. Occurrence and damage are most frequent at the edges of hop gardens and in places with anchorages between two hop gardens. The ichneumonid wasp Ichneumon sarcitorius and the fly Lidella thompsoni are the most common parasitoids of this pest. Numbers of males caught in pheromone traps were very low. More males were trapped near hop gardens typical for repeated harmful occurrence of the rosy rustic moth. Females trapped in a light trap from the second half of August to the last decade of September had already full-developed eggs in their ovaries.

In 16 cases both methods were used, with concurring results. For many species information on life history (e.g. oviposition behaviour, number of generations) is provided.
