  • 2019-11 Schools Block Funding
Agenda Item 3 Rep 786 DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL SCHOOLS FORUM 26th November 2019 Report of the Executive Director for Children’s Services School Block Funding 2020-21 1. Purpose of the Report To inform the Schools Forum of the provisional schools block settlement for 2020-21 and potential implications for Derbyshire. 2. Information and Analysis As part of the government’s Spending Round 2019, the Chancellor of the Exchequer confirmed to Parliament that funding for schools and high needs will, compared to 2019- 20, rise by £2.6 billion for 2020-21, £4.8 billion for 2021-22, and £7.1 billion for 2022-23. On 11th October 2019 the DfE released provisional DSG funding levels for 2020-21 for each LA. Final allocations will be published in December to reflect the October 2019 pupil census. This paper focusses on the schools block, papers for the other blocks are covered elsewhere on tonight’s agenda. 2.1 Schools Block increase The government have announced the mainstream National Funding Formula (NFF) multipliers for 2020-21. Details of the current and new values are shown in Appendix 1. These increased multipliers feed directly into the calculation of the 2020-21 Schools Block budgets for each LA. By way of background, the provisional LA-level Schools Block for each sector is derived as a unit rate (Primary/Secondary Unit of Funding (PUF/SUF)) multiplied by the October 2018 pupil census. The PUF/SUF values have been derived by calculating schools’ NFF budgets for 2019-20, summing the individual amounts and dividing the aggregate total by the October 2018 pupil count.

  • Granville Academy News Principal's Message
July 2019 Granville Academy News Principal ’s Message : Dear Parents and Carers As the summer term draws to a close, we look back on another year at Granville and all that has hap- pened. Our £8.8 million rebuild is well underway and the new sports hall is really taking shape. Our year 7 intake for September is over-subscribed and we have a waiting list for places. The school roll will have risen from just over 500 pupils in 2015 to almost 800 in 2019! At the end of term, we will be saying goodbye to a small number of staff. Mr Taylor (Maths) will be leaving us to take up a post at John Taylor High School and Miss Rhodes (MFL) will be leaving us to return to Long Eaton school. Mrs Brassington (Support and Guidance) will be taking up a new role as a Learning Mentor at Belmont Primary School. We say a huge thank you to them for all their hard work, loyalty and commitment to the school. We also wish “bon voyage” to Mrs Garvey (English|) who is taking a sabbatical for a year and intends to travel and undertake some voluntary work oversees. We wish her a safe and fantastic journey. From September, we welcome the following new staff: Erika Harris (English) Usman Asif (English) Sonia Dos Santos (Maths) Paul Marshall (ICT) Hollie McIlhone (Academic Mentor) We look forwards to our GCSE Results Day on August 22nd and hope our year 11 students are justly rewarded for their efforts. • 5 September 2018 Dear Parent/Carer It Is My Pleasure and Privilege to Write to You As the Recently Appointed Chief Executive
5 September 2018 Dear Parent/Carer It is my pleasure and privilege to write to you as the recently appointed Chief Executive Officer of The de Ferrers Trust. As my first full term overseeing the Trust begins, I write to you with the exciting news that we have another school joining the de Ferrers family of schools – Richard Wakefield Church of England Primary Academy. Richard Wakefield Primary is a lovely school based in Tutbury. Children who left the school to begin their secondary education this month performed well in their end of year tests. Much credit goes to them and all the staff who have worked with them. I have really enjoyed my visits to the school so far and they are a most welcome addition to the Trust. In fact, I have really enjoyed visiting and working with all of the schools. This now means that there are seven schools in the Trust, educating approximately 5000 children and employing 600 members of staff. The other schools, ordered by the number of pupils there, are: The de Ferrers Academy, Burton-on-Trent (11-18) The Pingle Academy, Swadlincote (11-18) Granville Academy, Woodville (11-16) Lansdowne Infant Academy, Burton-on-Trent (3-7) Horninglow Primary Academy, Burton-on-Trent (3-11) Eton Park Junior Academy, Burton-on-Trent (7-11) The main educational advantage for schools of being in a Trust is that it should make learning from and supporting each other much easier. I am determined that this will happen and I, central Trust staff, the Principals and their members of staff are already making improvements in this regard.
