HERE AT HOLY FAMILY ST. JOHN VIANNEY RELIC PILGRIMAGE

Thursday, May 30—the incorrupt heart of St. John Vianney comes to Holy Family! 7 PM welcome of the Relic and Solemn Vespers

The faithful will be able to venerate the relic from 7:30 PM until 7AM Friday, May 31.

You may wish to participate in the overnight vigil of prayer for the sanctification of priests.

Please consider spending an hour to pray: --for the renewal and purification of the clergy --for healing of victims and the Church from clergy sexual abuse --in reparation for the sins of the clergy --for increased vocations to the priesthood --for the seminarians associated with our parish --for the priests of our parish: Fr. Joseph Johnson, Fr. Marcus Milless, Fr. George Welzbacher --in gratitude for the priest who baptized you --in gratitude for the priests who hear your confession --in gratitude for the priests who bring you Holy Communion --in gratitude for the priests who anoint you when seriously ill --in hope for a priest to be with you at your deathbed

St. John Vianney, also known as the Curé of Ars, was a French priest who was known for his holiness and priestly zeal. He was especially revered as a confessor. Born in 1786, the priest grew up during the time of the French Revolution which led to the destruction of churches and widespread murders of clergy and religious. The Shrine of Ars, France, has entrusted to the Knights of Columbus the major relic of St. John Vianney’s incorrupt heart for a national tour of the US through early June 2019. The Knights of Columbus are supporting the cost for the St. John Vianney Relic Pilgrimage. All donations made will be sent to the St. John Vianney Shrine in Ars, France, to assist with ongoing improvements to their pilgrim center.

The relic will also be available for veneration at the Cathedral of Saint Paul on Friday, May 31, 3-9 PM.

MANY THANKS TO THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS FISH FRY DONATION The Knights of Columbus St. Louis Council 3949 would like to thank all parishioners for supporting our 2019 Lenten Fish Fries. Attendance was higher than ever with 1,628 meals sold over six weeks. While we keep our meal prices lower than any other fish fry in the Twin Cities, we still managed to have a net profit of $7,005. The council voted to donate the entire amount to the Holy Family Academy general fund. We again want to thank all of you for your support, and we look forward to continued service to our parish throughout the coming year and at the 2020 Lenten Fish Fries next year!

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN DONATION The Board of Directors for the Knights of Columbus St. Louis Council 3949 Home Association would like to make an announcement to all parishioners of Holy Family Catholic Church. We have been managing funds from the sale of our Council hall, which was sold in about the year 2000. The total value of the funds as of May 16th was $237,393.56. Earlier generations of Knights in our council worked very hard to earn these funds and had hopes of finding a new home for Council meetings and events. At our May 10th meeting, the Home Association membership voted to donate these funds to the “Holy Family Catholic Church and Academy Capital Campaign for Enhanced Facilities”. While there is no guarantee that a room will always be available and reserved for the Knights, it is our hope that the building project will allow all Holy Family groups more meeting spaces in a great new facility. The Directors want to thank the entire Home Association membership for their support throughout the years, and we look forward to working with the parish to bring about continued growth and renewal through this Capital Campaign project. If you have any questions or comments about this action by the Knights, please contact Ryan Skoug (612.284.1666), the Home Association Board President. 7
