  • Enbridge Gas Distribution Line Relocation Hurontario Street and Eglinton Avenue Beginning Mid February 2019
-2- HURONTARIO LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT Information as of February, 2019 Enbridge Gas Distribution Line Relocation Hurontario Street and Eglinton Avenue Beginning Mid February 2019 What is the Hurontario Light Rail Transit Project? The Hurontario LRT will be a light rail service connecting people from the Port Credit GO station to the Brampton Gateway Terminal. The Hurontario LRT will connect with the Port Credit and Cooksville GO stations, Mississauga Transitway, MiWay and Züm transit lines. What work is taking place? To accommodate the construction of the Hurontario LRT, Enbridge Gas Distribution (Enbridge) is required to install a new gas line on Hurontario Street and Eglinton Avenue. These pipelines are integral to Enbridge’s gas system and must be re-routed to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to customers in the Greater Toronto Area. Timing Work is scheduled to start in mid February 2019 and will last for approximately two months. Work will occur between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. Work could be rescheduled and delayed due to weather conditions or any unforeseen circumstances. What to Expect Every effort will be made to minimize disruptions. Access to properties will be maintained at all times through at least one driveway. Residents and businesses near the work site can expect to hear noise caused by trucks, excavators, backhoes, and other construction equipment related to this work. Note: at no time will all lanes be closed. …2 For information regarding the Hurontario LRT project and construction updates, follow us on Twitter @HurontarioLRT, or contact us at the Metrolinx Hurontario LRT project office at 416-202-7500 or email: [email protected].

  • Miway Infrastructure Growth Plan (MIGP)
9.7 Date: March 15, 2021 Originator’s files: To: Chair and Members of General Committee From: Geoff Wright, P.Eng, MBA, Commissioner of Meeting date: Transportation and Works March 31, 2021 Subject MiWay Infrastructure Growth Plan (MIGP) Recommendation 1. That the report to General Committee entitled “MiWay Infrastructure Growth Plan (MIGP)” dated March 15, 2021 from the Commissioner of Transportation and Works be received. 2. That the study outcomes and infrastructure recommendations for future capital projects be approved. Report Highlights The MiWay Infrastructure Growth Plan (MIGP) study was initiated to identify and address existing gaps in transit infrastructure required to support the MiWay Five service plan. The study focussed on MiWay’s terminals/stations and stops along MiExpress corridors, with the intent to address operating issues and enhance the customer experience through transit infrastructure improvements. A new stop and terminal classification system, as well as new/updated infrastructure standards clearly identified the infrastructure gaps and requirements at our terminals and on-street MiExpress stops. Stop and terminal improvements (e.g., enhanced shelters, transit priority infrastructure) were prioritized based on feasibility and ease of implementation with preliminary concepts being prepared in advance for funding opportunities. Enhanced shelter recommendations from the MIGP are in receipt of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) funding, while transit priority infrastructure improvements are currently under review. Capital projects, not submitted through ICIP or are not approved by ICIP, will be submitted in the annual City Business Plan and Budget process. General Committee 2021/03/15 2 9.7 Background In 2014, MiWay initiated the MiWay Five study to prepare a five year service plan to streamline routes, expand the express network, strengthen service quality and achieve better service delivery.

  • Driving Tour of Mulmur Township
Driving Tour of Mulmur Township Mulmur has GEOGRAPHY… or rather topography. The landscape in the northeastern township of Dufferin can be stunning or intimidating, but never disappoint- ing. The township contains two of Dufferin County’s most scenic river valleys – the Boyne and the Pine – as well as the steep slopes of the Niagara Escarpment, and the hills and dales of the Orangeville and Southamp- ton moraines. Yet, there is some of the finest farmland in the county here as well taking advantage of the celebrated Honeywood loam to produce significant cash crops for the local farm economy. What Mulmur lacks is a consistent system of through roads – the geography gets in the way, but for the casual, and patient traveller, the interruptions can be quite rewarding. Our driving tour of the township starts almost in the centre of the township – at the Mulmur township municipal offices (see the map on the last page for location). Enjoy the tour! STARTING POINT—MULMUR MUNICIPAL OFFICES Out the driveway, turn right. Proceed south to the stop sign. Stop #1 Village of Terra Nova In Latin the name means “new land” and in the 1880s this part of Mulmur was “discovered” by lumbermen and sawyers who cleared the area of pine and other na- tive trees. The village was founded as a lumber camp, one of the last to open in Mulmur. A service village has survived to serve the community in the surrounding area. If you’re feeling the need to fortify yourself for the tour, The Terra Nova Public House dispenses great food and welcom- ing hospitality in the former general store and post office.
