Our students were so enthusiastic about their progress that they wanted to share their thoughts and best memories with the Congregation: The Third Graders enjoyed their midweek afternoons at Hebrew School. "We had a pizza party when we finished learning the alefbet... we had fun activities like drawing Alefbet cartoon characters, Hebrew hockey, learning about children in Israel and making groggers ... getting pencils and stickers for completing all our work was great, too!" Fourth Graders had many highlights. "We enjoyed acting out the Samson and Delilah story with props and costumes... playing the board game "Challenger," "Guess the Our Staff, left to right:Judy Wolf, Nancy Concool, Lisa Kimmelman, Bible Character" game and Jeopardy ...we liked writing our Beth Darman, Susan Sacks, Baru Saul, Charlene Kahlenberg, Jill own 10 Commandments and learning about our Family Pakman, Susan Dorfman Trees, making our own seder plates and Haggadahs ... we thought that our Shabbat PACT program and the Rock Shabbat were the best." Fifth Grade was exciting. "We liked our afternoon Choose Your Own Jewish Adventure stories and snacking on teddy grahams ... playing Hebrew games ... making wooden Megillah scrolls.. .learning about Jewish immigration... and our TZEDAKAH PACT program and the Torah Scribe were the greatest." Sixth Graders thought this year was awesome. "Our Shabbat Potluck dinner and service was cool... we enjoyed all the music, it made learning our prayers fun... we now know the entire Friday night service... and what's more important is that we learned the meaning of becoming B'nai Mitzvah and why we should become one." Seventh Grade was memorable. "We had an exciting year filled with learning about Jewish values and Judaism... marriage and the Ketubah... reading various stories and watching videos about the Holocaust ... Hebrew Tic-Tac-Toe ... making the props, posters and preparing for our play." It is thanks to our devoted group of teachers that all of our students had such a successful year. As we mark the end of the school year, we recognize the hard work and dedication of our staff at Yom Hamoreh Teacher Recognition Shabbat, on Friday, May 19, at 7:30PM.
