Caldicott’s Governing Council Caldicott Trust Ltd is a charitable educational trust which is overseen by and answers to Companies House and the Charity Commission. Its Governing Council comprises a minimum of eight and maximum of 14 governors, each of who acts as a Trustee and Company Director. Governors hold office for a five-year term whereupon they may be reappointed. They are all volunteers and very generously give their time and expertise gratis. Their short biographies are listed below.

The Council meets collectively at least three times each year with substantial work completed between meetings through a range of Governor-led sub-committees each of which is focussed on a particular area of mportance to the school. Additionally, they visit the School frequently and assist with a wide range of core activities and business.

Malcolm Swift Malcolm joined Caldicott’s governing body in 2010 and was Chair of the Finance Committee before becoming Chair of the Council in 2014. He is a former parent of four boys at Caldicott and has been associated with the School for over 20 years. He is an Executive Officer of McCormick & Co and an Independent Director to the Board of Devro Plc.

George Marsh George joined Caldicott’s governing body in 2009 and contributes widely from his experience as a Preparatory School Headmaster. He started his career at the . He then spent a decade in comprehensives before becoming Assistant Director of Studies at Millfield. He moved to become Head of Millfield Prep before completing his career as Head of Dulwich Prep in London. In addition, he is a Governor of Sherborne and Eastbourne College and Chair of Trustees at Wilton’s Music Hall. Fishing, golf, and grandchildren fill up the rest of his time.

Elisabeth (Liz) Hungin Liz has been a Governor of Caldicott for five years and has just commenced her second five-year term. She has oversight of Child Protection, Safeguarding and Boarding. Born and brought up abroad, she is multilingual and has worked in settings where her languages were in constant use, including a 10-year post in the Commercial Section of the Colombian Embassy and 13 years in the City, in the Corporate Finance division of Lazard Brothers. She has two sons, both of whom attended Caldicott. Having moved from west London, she is involved locally in village life as a Parish Councillor and maker of cricket teas for the Jordans Taverners where her husband and sons play. Her interests include travel, classical music and a passion for baking.

Manbhinder (Cliff) Rana Cliff joined the governing body in 2016 and is Chair of its Finance Committee. He is a Chartered Accountant, Senior Partner and Vice Chairman of Deloitte LLP a leading professional services firm. He specialises in providing Audit and Advisory services to Banks and other Financial Institutions. He has worked with Deloitte ever since leaving University and has held a number of roles within the firm. He has served some of the largest and most complex clients of the firm and currently sits on the Global Financial Services Executive Committee. Cliff is married, has a son and a daughter, and lives in Great Missenden. He was a parent at Caldicott from 2009 to 2016. His interests include watching a range of sports, travel, opera and ballet, and dining out. He is also a Justice of the Peace. Victoria (Tori) Roddy Tori joined the governing body in 2019 is Chair of the School’s Marketing and Development Committee. She is Director of Marketing and Admissions at Stowe School in where she is also a member of the Executive Leadership Team. She studied at Oxford, Surrey and The Defence Academy of the United Kingdom at Shrivenham. She started her career in the education sector working for the , then Westminster School and over the last 20 years has specialised in fundraising, marketing and recruitment. She is Chair of Trustees for Buckinghamshire MIND and in her spare time she uses her training as a forensic archaeologist and anthropologist to volunteer on a number of research projects. Tori also enjoys running, wild camping and walking.

Jonathan (Jon) Newton Jonathan joined Caldicott’s governing body in 2019 and is Chair of its Education Committee. He has nearly 30 years’ experience of teaching in the independent sector. He began his career at Latymer Upper School, where he worked for eight years before moving to Eton College in 2000. He has been a housemaster at Eton for the past 10 years, during which time he also completed an MA in Education Management. He recently spent five years on the Eton Admissions Committee and is currently a member of the School’s Academic Policy Committee. Jonathan is well acquainted with former Caldicott students and has a number of Old Caldicotians in his house including his current head of house.

Beverley Hampshire Beverley joined Caldicott’s governing body in 2017 and is Chair of the School’s Human Resources Committee. A former parent at Caldicott, Beverley is the European Head of Real Estate at Earnst & Young and has spent her career working in large and complex financial sector businesses. She has broad experience managing functional operations and implementing organisational transformation and people change strategies.

Anthony Murley Anthony joined Caldicott’s governing body in 2019 and is Chair of its Buildings and Estate Committee. He is a former parent at Caldicott and lives in west London. He is a Chartered Surveyor and has a long-established business which structures and procures finance for joint ventures in commercial and residential property. He was educated at Oundle and the , which he represented in several sports. Outside of work, he is a member of The London Chorus, a leading amateur choir, and a longstanding member of Hawks Club, MCC and Royal Wimbledon Golf Club.

John Moule John has been a Governor at Caldicott since 2014. He started teaching (History and Politics) at Dean Close School in Cheltenham. He has been Warden (Head) at Radley since September 2014, via Headship (and deputy Headship) at Bedford and being a Housemaster and Head of Department at Stowe. His interests are wide-ranging: reading (Theology, Political Biography, P.G.Wodehouse, Murder Mysteries and sport); Arsenal and the Boston Red Sox, compulsive armchair sports viewing; bad golf and real tennis; membership of a local church and both directing and watching theatre. Not surprisingly, he is a passionate advocate of the benefits of single sex boys’ schools and boarding. Victoria (Vicky) Peel Vicky joined the governing body in 2015. She was educated at Godolphin and Latymer and the University of Edinburgh before studying law at City University. She was called to the Bar and practised as a Barrister for several years before having three children and moving to Buckinghamshire where she now sits as a Magistrate. She is a Trustee of The Buckinghamshire Historic Churches Trust. Both her sons were educated at Caldicott over a 10-year period.

Catherine (CJ) Brough CJ joined Caldicott’s governing body in 2019 soon after her son left the school. She has spent 21 years in communications. Having started by faxing press releases and cold calling journalists she now runs BluntCommunications with her husband, consulting with brands on their social media strategy and casting social talent (influencers) for their marketing campaigns.

Eugene Higgins Eugene joined Caldicott’s governing body in 2019. He is Senior Housemaster at Harrow and a member of its Academic Advisory Committee. Eugene read Chemistry at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and came to Harrow in 2001 to teach Mathematics. He was the Assistant Housemaster of Druries for three years before being appointed the Housemaster of Newlands in 2009. He has coached teams in rugby, soccer, hockey and athletics, was Master in Charge of Swimming and Water Polo and a member of the English Schools Swimming Association for many years. Eugene is also Master-in-Charge of the exchange programme for foreign students.
