HOW TO FOLLOW THE RACE • Check out the homepage on the Haute Route website (hauteroute.org) as the race unfolds. Live updates from the course will be published along with the day’s results, rankings, intermediate times, video content, photos, rider blogs, news and more. • The best of the content will also appear on the Haute Route’s multiple social media platforms: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Share your race using #hauteroute during the event and invite your friends and family to do the same to cheer you on. /Haute_Route /CyclingHauteRoute /haute_route /user/hauteroutetv • Finally you will receive a daily ‘Friends & Family’ email during the race featuring the best images, event videos and stories from the peloton. RESULTS Daily results and overall Solo and Team classifications will be published on the homepage of our website as soon as possible after each stage. Personalised photos by PhotoRunning Three photographers will be stationed along the route on each stage. PhotoRunning offers you the possibility to have your photos automatically posted on to your Facebook wall for free at the end of each stage. HAUTE ROUTE APP BY TWONAV A bespoke Haute Route app provided by TwoNav allows riders to locate their hotels and other services in and around the race village (lunch area, briefing, massages, etc.). Please note that the App doesn’t contain any information about the course, results, photos etc. All these information will be available online at www.hauteroute.org The App is available to download on the App Store and Google Play and will be free to use on and offline on a variety of smartphone devices. For all riders who already have the App from last year, the content will automatically be updated. HOW TO DOWNLOAD IT? You can download it for free on the App Store (iPhone users) or Google Play (other smartphones). Search for ‘HAUTE ROUTE’. Once you have it on your device, the app will ask you to download content including maps and points of interest. The full content is about 150MB. Some updates will be available. To update your App, close and reopen it. HOW TO USE IT? ANGLET-TOULOUSE On the app, first choose your event. Then choose your stage from the list. NICE-GENEVA For each stage, the menu is divided into two parts: ‘Hotels’ and ‘Riders services’. By clicking on ‘Hotels’: you will be able to choose your hotel. Once the route appears, you can start navigating to the destination using your phone’s GPS. By clicking on ‘Riders services’: you will find the location of the village and all the services provided by the Haute Route (lunch area, briefing, massages, etc.). In this list, you will also find all Start and Finish locations. YOUR RACE OVERVIEW ANGLET BASQUE COAST – ARGELÈS-GAZOST For this second edition, the Haute Route Compact Pyrenees will offer an exceptionally tough timed and ranked challenge across some of the most beautiful and unspoilt mountains in Europe. The course of the 2016 Haute Route Compact Pyrenees features seven cols and ascents spread over three timed stages. Friday 19th August Sunday 21st August Race Village in Anglet Pau – Argelès-Gazost Open between 9.00am and 5.00pm 146km | 3,600M+ Non-timed parade at 5.00pm Riders’ briefing at 6.00pm Monday 22nd August Race Support briefing at 7.00pm Individual time trial Argelès-Gazost – Col de Couraduque Saturday 20th August 16km | 900M+ Anglet – La Pierre Saint-Martin Prizegiving ceremony at 1.00pm 143km | 3,500M+ 3 6 MAIN RULES & REGULATIONS RULES & REGULATIONS It is important to be aware of all the Rules & Regulations of the Haute Route which include timekeeping & rankings, time limits, equipment allowed, safety, medical and personal assistance, anti-doping and other important topics. View the rules in full: http://www.hauteroute.org/downloads/HR2016_Rules_and_Regulations.pdf Key points: • Ride on the right hand side of the road • Wear a hardshell helmet at all times • Respect traffic signs of the Haute Route • Wear your bib on your back • Respect traffic lights if there is no marshal present • Position your frame plate on the front of • Respect other road users (not involved in the race) your handlebars PENALTY CHART In order to maintain a high standard of safety, the jury will apply penalties for any rider who does not comply with our Rules & Regulations. See details of the penalties: http://www.hauteroute.org/downloads/HR16_Penalty_Chart.pdf SUSTAINABILITY By entering the Haute Route, you commit to respect the environment and the natural areas visited. It is strictly forbidden to leave any type of waste (paper, plastic packaging etc) on the race course. Any rider caught throwing waste on the race course will be disqualified. There will be a zero tolerance policy on this. See chart: http://www.hauteroute.org/downloads/HR_Riders_Sustainability_Charter.pdf PROTEST Any rider wishing to protest his/her timing or report an infringement by a competitor should fill out a protest form available at the Info Point within two hours of finishing the stage. The protest will be considered by the race organisation. Adjudications will be displayed on the main information board at that evening’s rider briefing. Riders receiving outside assistance - mechanical or otherwise - are liable to penalties and ultimately disqualification • Every participant is expected to be self-sufficient in case of a puncture If you suffer a mechanical, please be patient and inform the driver of the closest race vehicle - they will inform Mavic. Assistance in the race village and at the start line Mavic will have a booth at each race village and start line. The team will attempt to resolve any mechanical issues. Replacement parts, spares and accessories Mavic will not provide spare parts.
