The first floor terrace overlooking the garden runs along the length of the house and is a perfect spot for outdoor dining and enjoying pleasant sea views. With its tremendous seaside location this Biarritz villa is well positioned for exploring the southern part of the Atlantic coast and the Pays Basque, and for making the most of everything that chic Biarritz has to offer. Once the playground of aristocrats, Biarritz is a smart town, with good shopping and a famous casino for those who like the roulette tables. Anglet and the surrounding area is a golfer and surfer's paradise, with no less than 12 first class links and courses. Surfing and body boarding are very popular here owing to the exhilarating waves of the Atlantic: indeed world-class standard surfing competitions are held at Biarritz. Families Page 1 of 3 will enjoy the warm climate and the long sandy beaches along this stretch of French coastline. For trips away from the beach there is an aquarium and sea museum nearby. There are plenty of opportunities to watch exciting games of pelota, the local sport, and a scenic ride on the train into the Basque mountains would make a very memorable day out for the whole family. To the east is Bayonne, with its attractive historic centre, and to the south fashionable St Jean de Luz and the Spanish border. Inland are pretty villages such as Espelette, where you can see the locally-grown red peppers strung up from houses typical of the region, with their distinctive red and green-painted shutters. Head north for a much longer - but still just about feasible - day out to experience the incredible sand dunes of the Landes coastline, including the tallest sand dune in Europe ' Dune de Pyla' - truly remarkable. Local specialities to try during your holiday include spicy hams and chocolate from Bayonne and gateau basque (Basque cake) which can be found in every bakery. A holiday based at Le Cygne would certainly give you and your family and friends plenty to remember for years to come. Très tôt la cuisine est une passion transmise par sa grand-mère et sa mère. Les réunions de famille sont autant d’occasions pour les saveurs, les produits de la ferme et le partage. Après une formation au lycée hôtelier de Biarritz, le départ pour Paris s’impose. Découvrir la capitale, ses grandes maisons et ses grands chefs. Acquérir de l’expérience et de la technique. S’imprégner de l’ambiance et de l’organisation dans de grandes brigades. De retour au Pays ; Dominique exerce dans quelques restaurants du Pays Basque, mais rapide- ment, l’envie de créer, d’innover et d’entreprendre devient l’objectif principal. Aidé de ses parents et de son épouse Chantal, il transforme la maison familiale en restaurant doté d’une terrasse où les clients peuvent déguster sa cuisine et admirer le paysage. 10 Années passées…Le restaurant est trop petit et les clients regrettent l’absence de chambre. C’est alors que se décide le grand pas.
