APPENDIX I LUNAR AND MARTIAN NOMENCLATURE LUNAR AND MARTIAN NOMENCLATURE A large number of names of craters and other features on the Moon and Mars, were accepted by the IAU General Assemblies X (Moscow, 1958), XI (Berkeley, 1961), XII (Hamburg, 1964), XIV (Brighton, 1970), and XV (Sydney, 1973). The names were suggested by the appropriate IAU Commissions (16 and 17). In particular the Lunar names accepted at the XIVth and XVth General Assemblies were recommended by the 'Working Group on Lunar Nomenclature' under the Chairmanship of Dr D. H. Menzel. The Martian names were suggested by the 'Working Group on Martian Nomenclature' under the Chairmanship of Dr G. de Vaucouleurs. At the XVth General Assembly a new 'Working Group on Planetary System Nomenclature' was formed (Chairman: Dr P. M. Millman) comprising various Task Groups, one for each particular subject. THESIS LONGITUDINAL STUDY OF SALMONELLA ENTERICA, ESCHERICHIA COLI O157:H7, AND LISTERIA MONOCYTOGENES IN A SMALL AND VERY SMALL FRESH MEAT PROCESSING PLANT ENVIRONMENT Submitted by Eva Danira Borjas Orellana Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition In partial fulfillment of the requirements For the Degree of Master of Science Colorado State University Fort Collins, Colorado Summer 2012 Master‘s Committee: Advisor: Marisa Bunning Kendra Nightingale Patricia Kendall ABSTRACT LONGITUDINAL STUDY OF SALMONELLA ENTERICA, ESCHERICHIA COLI O157:H7, AND LISTERIA MONOCYTOGENES IN A SMALL AND VERY SMALL FRESH MEAT PROCESSING PLANT ENVIRONMENT Small and very small fresh meat processing facilities have scarce resources to monitor foodborne pathogen contamination patterns and transmission dynamics in their premises. Environmental control of Salmonella enterica, Escherichia coli O157:H7, and Listeria monocytogenes, is important to prevent cross-contamination of meat products by pathogens that may persist in a facility. Although Listeria spp. are non-pathogenic, a high prevalence in a meat processing environment indicates failures in the cleaning and sanitation procedures. The purpose of this study was to conduct a six month longitudinal study to monitor Escherichia coli O157:H7, S. enterica, L. monocytogenes and other Listeria spp. contamination patterns, and to identify potential harborage sites in a small and very small fresh meat plant. Additionally, in order to gain insights about the facilities, manufacturing practices, and other relevant practices, managers from the two participating plants were asked to complete a questionnaire. Feedback of the study results was given to plant staff in a bilingual session, along with a basic training in food safety topics. -

([email protected]) ABSTRACT Data from orbiting and landed spacecraft have provided vast amounts of information regarding fluvial and fluvial-related landforms and sediments on Mars. One variant of these landforms are sinuous ridges that have been interpreted to be remnant evidence for ancient fluvial activity, observed at hundreds of martian locales. In order to further understanding of these martian landforms, this paper inventories the 107 known and unknown inverted channel sites on Earth; these offer 114 different examples that consist of materials ranging in age from Upper Ordovician to late Holocene. These examples record several climatic events from the Upper Ordovician glaciation to late Quaternary climate oscillation. These Earth examples include inverted channels in deltaic and alluvial fan sediment, providing new analogs to their martian counterparts. This global -
