Last year, over 89.5% of applications were made online, and 74.09% of those who applied on time received an offer of their first preference school. The process is easy to follow, quick and secure, and enables you to access other education and school websites. It also allows you to amend and check your application at any time – and as many times as you need to – before 31 October 2019. You will also be able to see the result of your application online without having to wait for an offer letter. Whichever way you would like to apply, please make sure you submit your application by 31 October 2019.     Making a mark: art, craft and design education 2008/11 This report evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of art, craft and design education in schools and colleges in England. It is based principally on subject inspections of 96 primary schools, 91 secondary schools and seven special schools between 2008 and 2011. This includes five visits in each phase to focus on an aspect of good practice. As a parent of secondary school children myself, I understand the significant role that the school will play in your family’s life during the coming years. Highams Park School is a mixed 11-18 comprehensive school that serves the local community. Our school achieves excellent examination results that place the school towards the top of the local area school tables. There are over 1600 students at the school: 240 in each year group until GCSE, and then approximately 400 in the sixth form who benefit from a purpose-built block which provides dedicated study areas as well as teaching space. Our school motto of “Success through our Endeavours” and our core behaviours of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience sum up the importance of the development of students’ character alongside our role of delivering academic excellence.
