Dear Chinese friends,

It is our pleasure to announce the 2nd annual ICMAC Oslo Wushu Open which will be held at Scandic Hotel Fornebu on September 29th 2012! The hotel have a prime location right next to the sea shore outside of Oslo and the competition will be arranged in the hotel's conference facilities.

In the 2011 edition we had competitors from 5 countries including Sweden, Norway, France, Denmark and Switzerland. We are aiming to increase these numbers in 2012 and several countries have shown their interest in participating at this years event.

This will be an open competition for all individuals, schools and academies. We will not exclude any competitor, regardless of federation affiliation and other political matters.

Schedule September 28th: All day Optional arrival at Scandic Hotel Fornebu, international competitors are advised to take the airport express train to Lysaker Train Station, which is located 3 km away from the Fornebu complex towards the sea shore.

September 29th: Before 8:30 Optional arrival at Scandic Hotel Fornebu 7:30-9:00 Breakfast buffet for all participants (included in the day-pass) 8:00-9:00 Registration for all competitors 9:00-9:15 Judges meeting 8:00-9:15 Open carpet for warm up 9:20-9:25 Athlete and coaches meeting with introduction 9:30 Competition - morning session 12:00-13:00 Intermission, lunch buffet for all participants (included in the day-pass) 13:00 Competition - afternoon session Award ceremonies directly after each competition category ends, estimated end of all competition categories to be at 17:30. 18:00 Dinner buffet for all participants (included in the day-pass) After 18:00 Optional departure from Oslo 21:00 Afterparty

Registration Registration to be sent by e-mail to [email protected], registration deadline: June 30th 2011. Late-registration open till August 1st with an extra fee of €100.

Accomodation and fees The competition venue and accomodation will be combined at Scandic Hotel Fornebu. We have reserved a limited number of rooms at the hotel from September 28th to 30th.

Spectator fees: Free entrance for all spectators.

Day-pass accreditation for non hotel guests: NOK 410,- / €55 per athlete including unlimited number of competition entries, entrance to the conference hall with breakfast and lunch.

September 28-29th hotel rate: NOK 1400,- / €180 per person including unlimited number of competition entries, entrance to the conference hall with breakfast and lunch.

September 29-30th hotel rate: NOK 1295,- / €165 per person including dinner and breakfast.

Booking: Hotel bookings and day-pass purchases will be registered on the registration form, invoice will be sent to all registered athletes/teams after registration deadline. Waivier The ICMAC Oslo Wushu Open take no responsibility for lost items or other unfortunate incidents during the events. Please note that categories with too few athletes will be merged with other related categories.

Media Please note that photos and videos from this event will be used for marketing and media on various websites and in local newspapers. All competitors will be recorded by the Oslo Wushu Open organizing comittee and it's open for both commercial and private recordings during the event.

Professional Martial Arts photographer Carl Celius will be the official event photographer and his photos will be uploaded at www.kampsportforalle.no. Commercial use of these photos only upon arrangement with Carl Celius and private use only with referral to www.kampsportforalle.no.

There are no limitations for photos and recordings during the event, but for our competitors comfort and safety we strongly recommend to not use flash while taking photos during the competition.

Rules The competition will be arranged on rythmic gymnastics carpets over hardwood floor.

1999 set of IWuF rules will apply for both modern, traditional and internal taolu categories. For modern taolu both optional and compulsory forms is allowed but there will be no marks for nandu. All categories, competitors and scores will be announced on big screen in the arena. All competition results will be included in the ICMAC world wide ranking system, see www.kungfuchampionship.com for more information.

CWA trial rules for fixed step tuishou () will be implemented: - 2 x 1 minute rounds - The rounds start with 3 circular movements - 3 points for throwing oponent on the ground while standing - 2 points for landing on top of oponent after throw or oponent moving both feet - 1 point for oponent moving one foot or touching one hand on the ground

Judges There will be licensed judges from China, Norway and Sweden at this event. The head judge will be former professional athlete Yan Fei (6th duan) from Henan province assisted by competition organizer Kim Gibson.

Any interested European or International grade judge may also be considered upon request. The organizing comittee will pay for hotel expences, breakfast and lunch for visiting judges.

Categories with less than 3 competitors will be merged together with the most related category. Prizes and awards Age division A (children): All competitors will be awarded certificates and no scores will be given. Gold medals will be awarded to the top 1/3, silver medals will be awarded to the middle 1/3 and bronze medals will be awarded to the bottom 1/3 of competitors. The determination of gold, silver and bronze medals will be made by the judge panel and announced directly after the categories end.

Age divisions B and C (juniors and seniors): Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top 3-placed competitors and certificates will be awarded to the top 6-placed competitors. The winner of each category will also recieve a special award.

Best association: Special trophy will be awarded to the association or club with the most top 6 placing points at the competition. Gold medal = 9 points Silver medal = 7 points Bronze medal = 5 points 4th place = 3 points 5th place = 2 points 6th place = 1 point

Best junior athlete: Special trophy and gift from our sponsor wushugear.com will be awarded to the junior athlete with the best combination of sportsmanship and competition results. The judge panel will determin the winner of this award and it will be announced during the prize ceremony.

Best senior athlete: Special trophy and gift from our sponsor wushugear.com will be awarded to the senior athlete with most medal points at the competition. Gold medal = 7 points + number of beaten competitors Silver medal = 4 points + number of beaten competitors Bronze medal = 1 point + number of beaten competitors

ICMAC ranking: All competitors will be included in the worldwide ranking by ICMAC.
