Brightlingsea Regent Reserves Fc BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT RESERVES FC Sauka Groundworks & Civil Engineering MATCHDAY PROGRAMME • v FRENFORD FC • 23|08|19 KO 19:45 • THURLOW NUNN DIVISION ONE SOUTH WELCOME Welcome everyone to the Taydal Stadium for this evening’s fixture against Frenford FC. We welcome the players, staff and supporters of Frenford FC, and the match officials, and hope you have a safe journey home. After a difficult 2018/19 season, we find ourselves with a chance to put right last year’s poor league position. We are looking to do this while still maintaining the player progression that we were very proud of last season. A few older, more experienced heads, gelled with the lads who gained there first year’s experience in the Thurlow Nunn last year, leaves us in a better position than where we were a year ago. The introduction of our new head coach Stuart has been a big plus and Glen, Stuart and I are looking forward to the challenge. Please get behind and support the lads as we look to enjoy the 2019/20 season. Up the R’s Lee Clark Brightlingsea Regent Reserves Manager HISTORY Brightlingsea Regent FC, previously Brightlingsea United, have completed around 100 years of competitive football. Firstly in the Border League, between 1908/1909 to 1970, when they joined The Essex Senior league for 20 years having much success, before going on to join the then Jewson League in 1990 and then back to the Border League in 2001/2002. Brightlingsea United FC and Regent Park Rangers FC amalgamated at the start of 2005/06 season to become Brightlingsea Regent Football Club. During this time the squad and club have continued to grow and develop, the first team, with a series of promotions from the Border League, currently play at Step 3 of the non-league pyramid in the Isthmian Premier league. The 2018/19 season saw the formation of a Brightlingsea Regent Reserves side, under the guidance of Manager Lee Clark, his assistant Glen Last and Head Coach Adam Munn, playing their first season of football in the newly formed Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties Division One South. Adam Munn left at the end of the 2019 season and Stuart Malseed has joined the management team as Head Coach for the 2019/20 season. With a season of senior football under their belts, the Reserves are looking to continue their growth, with many of the squad looking to push for places in the First Team. • Annual Report 2014
Annual Report 2014 Foreword Since the demolition of our Station Road premises we have been working on plans to resurrect a suitable facility at Bigges Main, where our representative teams have their football pitches and changing rooms. Those plans will soon be made public as part of an Appeal to raise the estimated £1.2 million that will be required to give our young people a modern 21st century base. We are under no illusions as to how difficult this task will be, especially in the current economic climate. However, if we want future generations of Tyneside youngsters to be able to benefit from the community resource we have provided to past generations in previous decades then we simply do not have a choice in the matter. Occasionally, independent observers outside of the Club looking in can express our issues more eloquently than those of us who may be too close to the wood to see the trees. Such an observer penned the following words earlier this year… “The famous names associated with Wallsend such as Alan Shearer, Lee Clark, Peter Beardsley and….Steve Bruce, have made the boys’ club famous throughout the world.” What isn’t so well publicised is that as well as providing a great environment for kids to play and progress at football, Wallsend Boys’ Club is also at the heart of the community giving a lead to young people by helping to provide all kinds of programmes and activities away from the football side of things. These other areas of our work may not get a fraction of the publicity the football side does, but arguably this is even more important, in that it helps the young people of Tyneside to get a better range of opportunities and to develop into the citizens of tomorrow.

Introduction Ged Grebby UK Project Co-ordinator The 2007-8 season was officially the most successful season in the history of our campaign with more posters produced, events at clubs and community education work than ever before. We are now working on our Annual Review for this period, which we hope to have finished for July 2008. This newsletter can only give a flavour of the work we have carried out since our last newsletter in Leroy Rosenior and Robbie Earle presented the December. We managed to cap a brilliant season for our Hall of Fame Ceremony. anti-racist campaign with a fantastic event at 10 Downing Street with our patrons, supporters and sponsors. Work is progressing well on our four new films: 1. A film in conjunction with Fifpro the international players’ union called “Racism and the Beautiful game”. This DVD will be used by players’ unions around the world to promote ideas on how football can combat racism. 2. A film and education pack to combat the growth of Islamophobia in society. 3. An updated version of our Show Racism the Red Card DVD. 4. A new Scottish Show Racism the Red Card DVD. The aim is to have all four films finished and ready to launch for the beginning of the new season in August. We have interviewed the following players and ex- players: Thierry Henry, Lillian Thuram, Samuel Eto’o, Gareth Southgate, Ryan Giggs, Wes Brown, Brian McClair, Gordon Taylor, Robert Earnshaw, Danny Gabbidon, Leroy Sol Campbell and Fabulous Flournoy were Rosenior, Freddie Eastwood, Jermaine Easter, Gareth Bale, amongst the guests at 10 Downing Street.
