Arts and Performances Summer Jazz Series: Merrimans’ Playhouse Players Enjoy an evening of music with the Merrimans’ Playhouse Players. Bring a chair, pack a picnic and make yourself comfortable in the museum’s courtyard while taking in the sights and the sounds at the museum. Thursday, June 20; 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the Snite Museum of Art Exhibition Opening: Ivan Meštrović and Notre Dame Ivan Meštrović (1883-1962) was among the most famous and prolific figurative sculptors of the 20th century. His career is inextricably linked to the University and the Snite Museum of Art. Meštrović was brought to campus in 1955 by University President Rev. Theodore Hesburgh, C.S.C. This exhibition features a small selection of the artist’s works. On view through Saturday, Aug. 10, in the Snite Museum of Art Closures, Openings, Limited Hours and Cancellations Summer Hours at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center The DeBartolo Performing Arts Center ticket office will be closed through July 7. From July 8 through Aug. 5, the ticket office will be open during the following hours: Monday through Friday, noon to 5 p.m. and one hour prior to ticketed events. Event tickets are still available for purchase on the website. Presenting Series season tickets go on sale July 29. This choir provides music for the 10 a.m. Sunday Mass in the Basilica during the summer through July 28. Weekly rehearsals: Thursdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Room 329, Coleman-Morse Center; Sundays: 8:45 a.m. in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart Lectures and Presentations Keynote: “The Pastoral State of Marriage and Family Today” Archbishop José Gomez (Los Angeles) will offer a keynote presentation exploring the pastoral state of marriage and family in the Church today as part of the Center for Liturgy’s 2019 Liturgy Week: “Liturgy and the Domestic Church.” A reception will follow. Free and open to the public. Tuesday, June 18; 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the auditorium, McKenna Hall Lecture: “The Astronomer’s Chair: A History of Sitting and Its Images” A public lecture by Omar W. Nasim, University of Regensburg, as part of the 14th Biennial Notre Dame History of Astronomy Workshop. Nasim examines the images of astronomers and their observing chairs during the 19th century to explore what we can learn about the practice of astronomy. Reception to follow. Wednesday, June 19; 7 to 8 p.m. in the auditorium, Eck Visitors Center Social Gatherings Almost Longest Day of the Year Party It is almost the start of summer and what better way to celebrate than a party? Hosted by the Family Resource Center, this event is open to ND students who are parenting, married, pregnant and spouses/student-families. Join us for free dinner, family entertainment, music and the opportunities to connect with other students and spouses. Tuesday, June 18; 5 to 7:30 p.m. in Stepan Center Cookouts at Café de Grasta Menu items served every Wednesday include hot dogs, bratwursts, hamburgers, cheeseburgers and watermelon. Wednesdays this summer through Aug. 15; 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Café de Grasta and on the patio outside Grace Hall Tech Upgrades and Service Interruptions Enroll in Okta — the New Two-Step Login Okta, the new two-step login service, will replace the existing service (Duo) on Monday, July 29. To prepare for this transition, all faculty, staff and students must enroll in Okta and select the preferred devices required to complete the two-step login process when Okta goes live. Enrolling in Okta before July 29 ensures immediate access to ND services like Gmail, Google Apps, Sakai, Box, etc. Okta Enrollment Station Events The OIT will host two Okta enrollment station events: · Wednesday, June 19; 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Montgomery Auditorium, LaFortune Student Center · Friday, June 21; 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Duncan Student Center (enter by Door 16) OIT representatives will be on hand to assist faculty, staff and students with enrolling their devices in Okta and to answer any questions about the new Okta two-step login.
