BRENT2020.CO.UK 2 THE A-Z OF BRENT’S BLACK MUSIC HISTORY This A-Z is largely a republishing of Kwaku’s research for the ‘Brent Black Music History Project’ published by BTWSC in 2007. Kwaku’s work is a testament to Brent’s contribution to the evolution of British black music and the commercial infrastructure to support it. His research contained separate sections on labels, shops, artists, radio stations and sound systems. In this version we have amalgamated these into a single ‘encyclopedia’ and added entries that cover the period between 2007-2020. The process of gathering Brent’s musical heritage is an ongoing task - there are many incomplete entries and gaps. If you would like to add to, or alter, an entry please send an email to [email protected] 3 4 4 HERO An influential group made up of Dego and Mark Mac, who act as the creative force; Gus Lawrence and Ian Bardouille take care of business.

When the community works together, the community works A vibrant community depends on the participation of its members. The more diverse their backgrounds, experience and skills, the more unique their contributions to the community can be. Bank of America supports The Pride Center of the Capital Region for celebrating individuality while supporting the common goals that bring progress to everyone. Visit us at bankofamerica.com/local Life’s better when we’re connected® ©2017 Bank of America Corporation | SPN-128-AD | ARMWTPSR WELCOME TO PRIDE 2017! The LGBTQ community is a complex tapestry of diversity. Our annual celebration of PRIDE is just one way we come together and hold our heads high and celebrate our lives. Every year at this time we have an opportunity to recommit to the fight and the conviction that we will never go back into the shadows, we will not be silenced, we refuse to be marginalized, we will stand up for ourselves and one another. We will celebrate and embrace our unique differences and demand equality for every lesbian, every gay person, every bi-sexual person, every transgender, gender non-conforming individual, and every color of the rainbow regardless of age or ethnicity. Now and always. I have been given an amazing opportunity to represent and serve as the Executive Director of the oldest continuously operating LGBTQ center in the country. I cherish this gift. As a young person who grew up in the 70’s struggling with my sexuality, a supportive, safe and nurturing community center to turn to would have made my youth a lot less lonely and frightening.

  • Silver Eagle Discography
Silver Eagle USA Discography by Mike Callahan, David Edwards & Patrice Eyries © 2018 by Mike Callahan Silver Eagle Discography Silver Eagle was a Canadian company headquartered near Toronto at 115 Apple Creek Blvd., Markham, Ontario, Canada. The label was a subsidiary of LaBuick & Associates Media, Inc., and label President was Ed LaBuick. The Media company specialized in TV marketing, and in addition to Silver Eagle also promoted Time-Life. In addition to LPs, Cassettes, and CDs, Silver Eagle also released videos. They established an office in the US at 4 Centre Drive, Orchard Park, NY (later, 777 N. Palm Canyon Dr., Palm Springs, CA), and often licensed product from the Special Products Divisions of the major record labels. They typically would pre-sell an album using 2-minute TV spots in stations across the country, then use that demand to place product in retail stores. They had their own manufacturing plant and distribution system, and according to LaBuick, sold many millions of albums. LaBuick later became head of the Music Division and Special Products Division of the major Quality Label in Canada. Note: All distributed by Silver Eagle unless noted otherwise.
