A review of concepts relating to the EU Water Framework Directive and integrated water management was made. Investment activities in the field of water and wastewater were compared with environmental data in order to obtain a synthetic evaluation of the scale of the province.     B/ORDER IN MOTION: The German-Polish Border from the System Transformation until the Present-Day European Integration Dagmara Jajeśniak-Quast Abstract The objective of this paper is to use the theoretical approach of B/ORDERS IN MOTION to analyze and understand the German-Polish border region from the period of systemic transformation to EU integration. The notions of durability, permeability and liminality serve perfectly as a conceptual prism to investigate this border region in motion. Following this concept, we can recognize three border regimes involving processes of demarcation (durability), overcoming (permeability) and creation of border zones (liminality) in the brief history of the German-Polish border. From the False Start of EU-Integration to the Boundless Common Space Transnational cooperation on the German-Polish border within the framework of the European Union (EU) is still in its initial development phase, due to both the relatively short-term existence of the current relationship between Poland and Germany and the systemic transformation that both regions have just lived through. Furthermore, although Poland joined the EU officially in 2004, full Polish membership did not start until May 1, 2011, when Poland finally received all the fundamental rights of the European community without restrictions. This “delay” in the legal agreement has negatively influenced the economy on the German-Polish border and cross-border cooperation. The strongest qualitative transformation of the German-Polish border at this stage, however, is that the border has disappeared. In spite of this “delay,” German-Polish cross-border projects are conducted with a lot of enthusiasm and engagement. In contrast to the established western border regions, the sense of a new beginning is still felt in the East.

Hydrological data were used in the form of daily water levels for the period 1981–2013. The collected data originate from the Malczyce Hydrological Station on the 300th km of the Odra River. To assess the risk of flooding based on the collected data quarterly highs were selected. As a measure of flood risk, the authors suggested the probability of exceeding the emergency level in the studied section of the river. This risk was calculated using the theoretical distribution function of the quarterly heights of the water level. The study used the Gumbel distribution. A special attention was paid to the possibility of using the presented solutions for an integrated flood risk management process in accordance with applicable national and European legislation. 1. INTRODUCTION For several years, we have witnessed catastrophic floods destroying Europe and, consequently, Poland. They contribute to social, economic and cultural losses. Long- -term forecasts force the authorities of the EU countries to prepare for the strengthening of these phenomena. In response to this question, the European Union took a number of measures to prepare the member states to combat floods. Given this, preventive measures that are economically and socially justified have been transposed into EU legislation in the field of water management [1] and the Flood Risk Management Directive [2].

The workshop was attended by representatives of all project partners and invited guests interested in the topic of the seminar - the list of participants as referred to in point 2. The workshop was teaching by Mr. Pavel Santarius, the Project Manager of PP3 as responsible partner for the Work Package T2. 1.2. In the start of workshop Mr. Tomasz Szulc (as the General Project Manager) presented, especially for guests, the general information about TRANS TRITIA Project (objective, key concept, partners structure, timetable) and general development challenges within the TRITIA AREA (restructuration and transformation of industry, bottlenecks in transport infrastructure or environmental aspects). 1.3. "Inland Waterway Action Plan” should contain and asked the present guests to express their views. He short presented the first deliverable “Inland water system at TRITIA area”. 1.4. Key speeches of representatives of involvement countries - Ms. Gabriela Tomik (Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation of Poland) presented activities on national level to modernization of the Odra waterway and the document "Assumption for the Development Plans of Inland Waterways in Poland for 2016-2020 with 2030 Perspective”.
