The HOMENETMEN LEADER’S GUIDE Հ.Մ.Ը.Մ.ական ՂԵԿԱՎԱՐԻ ՈՒՂԵՑՈՅՑ English Version Second Edition 2.1 February 2019 Prepared by: Dr. Shahe Yeni-Komshian Commissioned by: Homenetmen Western USA Regional Executive Board Sponsored by: Homenetmen Central Executive Board The content of the Homenetmen Leader’s Guide includes original writings by SY, as well as edited past documents and/or reproduction of already prepared documents. The Guide is available on-line as an e-document, at: www. Homenetmen.net The Homenetmen Leader’s Guide was Developed on the Occasion of the 100th Anniversary of HOMENETMEN As a Tribute to its Remarkable Contribution to Armenian Society, In the Hopes of Educating Future Generations of Leaders to Carry on the Torch. SY 2 PREFACE Homenetmen has bylaws, rules and regulations, but no formal leadership development program. Governing bodies also do not have a comprehensive orientation guide for new board members. Hence this guidebook. This Guide is primarily written for the leadership of Western USA Region. However, the entire Homenetmen family with all of its Regions and Chapters could use this guidebook, with minor adjustments of region specific information. WHY Do We Need to HAVE a GUIDE for LEADERS? Every nonprofit organization needs a board development process. Homenetmen has to give tools to those leaders who are expected to lead our youth, to better explain to them their role and responsibilities, educate them about their position and functions and help improve their performance. Quality leaders are better mentors. This Guide may be utilized for two purposes: 1. As a reference handbook, adopted by any Homenetmen leader, or 2.

Chapter 3 Ground Survey Chapter 3 Ground Survey 3.1 Drilling, Laboratory Tests The outline of the lithologic structure in Yerevan can be understood by the geological maps and the collected drilling database, which contains 5,094 logs; however, the data concerning the S wave velocity for the amplification analysis and the soil properties for the liquefaction analysis are not enough. To collect these data, 10 drillings were newly conducted in Yerevan and several tests were conducted using these boreholes. The quantities of the tests are shown in Table 3.1-1. Table 3.1-1 Quantities of Tests Category Quantities Drilling 30m x 10 Groundwater Level Measurement 10 Standard Penetration Test 129 Disturbed Soil Sampling 116 Laboratory Test 116 The drilling points are mainly set to the area where the Quaternary deposits cover because it is effective for the amplification of the earthquake motion by the ground and liquefaction potential. The geologic condition of Yerevan was estimated as follows from the existing information. The rock layer may be shallow in the northern area and the soft soils cover the southern area. Therefore, the selected newly boring points locate in the south of Yerevan city (Figure 3.1-1). The surface soils of each drilling points are shown in Table 3.1-1. The drilling logs are shown in Data Book. Lopez claimed his third Olympic Games gold medal at super heavyweight by sneaking past reigning world champion Riza KAYAALP (TUR) in the 130kg final at Rio 2016, while world champion Vlasov followed up a win in London four years ago with another gold medal performance in Rio de Janeiro. Of the four remaining Greco-Roman champions crowned at Carioca Arena, only Ismael BORRERO MOLINA (CUB) at 59kg was able to match Vlasov by moving seamlessly from world champion to the Olympic Games gold medal – his first. Like Lopez, two-time world champion Artur ALEKSANYAN (ARM), who slipped to No.2 in the rankings at 98kg after a loss at the European championships in March, reclaimed the top spot with a 3-0 victory over Yasmany LUGO CABRERA (CUB). Meanwhile, Davit CHAKVETADZE (RUS) went from third to No.1 at 85kg with a win over world champ Zhan BELENYUK (UKR) and 2014 world champion Davor STEFANEK (SRB) carved his way through a crowded field at 66kg to go from No.6 in the rankings to No.1.
