Paar FHS Informationsberufe 2008 Kurzfassung Von 1938 bis 1945 wurden unter dem nationalsozialistischen Regime tausende von Büchern geraubt und an die Österreichische Nationalbibliothek gebracht. Diese Ar- beit zeichnet einen Überblick über die Rolle der größten österreichischen Bibliothek während der NS-Herrschaft und zeigt weiters aktuelle Ergebnisse des Provenienzfor- schungsprojektes auf. Das Ziel der Arbeit ist, die Aufmerksamkeit der Öffentlichkeit und der Medien für den Raub von Bibliotheken und Sammlungen zu erregen. Zudem werden die schmerzvollen Schicksale der Opfer beleuchtet, die sich hinter dem Raub der Bücher verbergen. Die Arbeit versucht ferner die Frage zu beantworten, warum die Österreichische Nationalbibliothek Jahrzehnte benötigte, um die Restitutionen abzuschließen und ihre eigene Geschichte aufzuarbeiten. Die Grundlage der Arbeit stellt eine fundierte Literaturrecherche dar. Anschließend wurden vier qualitative Experteninterviews geführt, mit dem Ziel aktuelle Ergebnisse und Barrieren der Provenienzforschung zu erfahren.

    Translation from German RESTITUTION REPORT 2003/2004 SIXTH REPORT OF THE FEDERAL MINISTER FOR EDUCATION, SCIENCE AND CULTURE TO THE NATIONALRAT [LOWER CHAMBER OF THE AUSTRIAN PARLIAMENT] ON THE RESTITUTION OF ART OBJECTS FROM AUSTRIAN FEDERAL MUSEUMS AND COLLECTIONS Section 2 (3) of the Federal Statute of 4 December 1998 on the Restitution of Art Objects from the Austrian Federal Museums and Collections provides for an annual obligation to inform the Nationalrat of restitutions of art objects effected during the reporting period. The first report covered restitutions effected during the period from 19 December 1998 to 18 August 1999, the second report covered restitutions effected during the period from 27 October 1999 to 28 November 2000, the third one covered the period from 23 January 2001 to 1 October 2001, the fourth report covered the period from 10 April 2002 to 3 December 2002 and the fifth one covered the period from 11 March 2003 to 27 January 2004. All five reports were acknowledged by the Nationalrat. The purpose of the Restitution Act is to restitute art objects from the Austrian federal museums and collections which passed into the ownership of the Republic of Austria in the course or as a consequence of Nazi tyranny to the original owners or their legal successors. In order to fulfil this mission of the Act a systematic and complete review of the entire inventory of the Austrian federal museums and collections as to their provenance is necessary. The Commission for Provenance Research established in 1998 is fulfilling this task. The staff of the Commission is working in the individual federal museums and collections, where they inspect the inventories, archives and objects themselves as to indications of provenance, which they follow using relevant databases, card files and files from public archives.

Guillaume Bonnet and Benjamin Fagard Complex Prepositions in Albanian: a first assessment Abstract In this chapter, we investigate the marking of nominal relations in Albanian, from case marking to simple and complex prepositions, on the basis of the (limited) literature and of a corpus study. We rely on two corpora, the Albanian National Corpus (ANC) and the parallel corpus OPUS, totaling 20 and 46 million words respectively. This enables us to provide frequency lists and distributional features of simple and complex prepositions, making it possible to account for the formal and functional differences between different types of simple and complex adpositions. We also address the question of the possible origin of CAs in Albanian, showing a possible effect of language contact.

    Markus Stumpf ERGEBNISSE DER PROVENIENZFORSCHUNG AN DER FACHBEREICHSBIBLIOTHEK JUDAISTIK DER UNIVERSITÄT WIEN Die Fachbereichsbibliothek Judaistik (FB) ist eine Teilbibliothek der Universitäts- bibliothek Wien . Sie entstand im Zuge der Gründung des Instituts für Judaistik der Universität Wien, das 1966 aus dem Institut für Orientalistik (gegründet 1887) hervorging . Die FB könnte somit als Fallbeispiel für eine Bibliothek gesehen wer- den, deren spätes Gründungsdatum suggeriert, dass eine Provenienzforschung nicht nötig wäre . Jedoch alleine die Tatsache, dass die Bestände durch Übernahmen aus anderen Bibliotheken und durch antiquarischen Ankauf angereichert sind, und dass bereits restituierte Bestände als Geschenke an die FB kamen sowie die Geschichte der Vorläuferinstitution Orientalistik und der handelnden Personen ergeben ein sensibles und komplexes Gemenge an Problemstellungen . Bei ihrer Gründung erhielt die Bibliothek des Instituts für Judaistik �������die un- ter den Siglen »Hebr .« bzw . »Sem .« einsignierten Bücher aus der Bibliothek des Orien talischen Instituts der Universität Wien geschenkt . Auf Grund der NS- und SS-Nähe des ehemaligen Institutsleiters der Orientalistik, Viktor Christian (1885–1963)1, müssen diese übernommenen Bestände als besonders verdächtig gelten . In den ersten Jahren wurden von der Judaistikbibliothek hauptsächlich Neuerscheinungen gekauft . In den 1970er Jahren wurden auch immer wieder An- tiquariatsankäufe, z .B . bei der Buchhandlung Schaden oder Ben Arza in Jeru sa- lem getätigt . Inventarbücher wurden erst ab 1983 geführt, davor schrieb man teil- weise die Inventarnummer nur ins Buch oder auf die Katalogzettel . In kleineren Teilen des Altbestands (Erwerbungen aus den 1960er und 1970er Jahren) fehlen die Inventarnummern allerdings . 1997 wurde die Bibliothek zur »Fachbibliothek 1 Das Orientalische Institut der Universität Wien wurde in den Jahren 1933/34 und von 1936 bis 1945 von Viktor Christian geleitet .

    Wilfried Fiedler Einführung in die Albanologie Meißen 2006 (Vorläufige Version; Unvollständig) Einführung in die Albanologie 1 I. Bibliographie Die erste "Albanesische Bibliographie" von Ing. Manek, Dr. G. Pekmezi und Ob.- Leut. A. Stotz erschien in Wien 1909. Sie bietet auf XII+147 Seiten die auf Albanien bezogenen literarischen Werke und Veröffentlichungen, angefangen von Homer und den Autoren des klassischen Altertums mit Stellenangaben bis 1909. Nützlich ist noch heute an diesem sonst eher bescheidenen Werk das Sach-Register auf den SS. 144-147. Einen wissenschaftlich wesentlich solideren Eindruck macht die "Bibliographie Albanaise" von Émile Legrand, Paris-Athènes 1912. Sie besticht durch die Anführung der Titel in den Originalschriften auch in drucktechnischer Hinsicht. Dieses VIII+228 SS. umfassende Handbuch beginnt mit der Türkenzeit - mit den historischen Werken über die Kämpfe gegen die Türken im 15.-16. Jh., und sie ist ebenfalls chronologisch geordnet und mit detaillierten Indizes versehen. Es sei erwähnt, daß von dieser wertvollen Überblicksdarstellung zur DDR-Zeit in Leipzig beim Zentralantiquariat ein Nachdruck erschienen ist, der noch heute zu finden ist. Besonders für die sprachwissenschaftliche Albanologie sind die bibliographischen Angaben unentbehrlich, die seit 1914 im "Indogermanischen Jahrbuch" (in der Abteilung VII., zunächst von A. Thumb, ab Band IV [bis 1938] von N. Jokl betreut, unter der Bezeichnung "Albanesisch", ab Band III "Albanisch") erschienen sind und somit glücklicherweise unmittelbar an die Bibliographie von Legrand anschließen. Namentlich die im Vergleich zu anderen Gebieten sehr ausführlichen Besprechungen von Jokl sind noch jetzt von großem Wert und helfen uns, den Inhalt der manchmal ja sehr schwer zugänglichen Arbeiten festzustellen. Jokl hat auch den Kreis der zu besprechenden Arbeiten sehr weit gefaßt, so finden wir auch Bücher usw., die nicht direkt sprachwissenschaftlich sind, andererseits wird auch auf Titel verwiesen, die eher vom balkanologischen als vom streng albanologischen Standpunkt aus interes- sant sind.

    The Trajectory of the Albanian Historiography: Between the Austrian Albanologie (Volkskunde) and the Communist Al- banologie (National-Stalinism/Etnographiya) ANASTAS BEZHA UNIVERSITY OF SZEGED Abstract The focus of this paper is to analyze the trajectory of the Albanian historiography before and during communism. After the fall of the communist regime in 1991, the related studies on this subject were focused on the main narratives proposed by this historiography, with a critical eye by the German-speaking community of researchers. In this regard, little effort has been put to analyze the context – scientific and political – how these two closely re- sembling narratives were created. The paper tries to show a clear evolutionary path of the Albanian Historiography initiated by the actions of the Ballhausplatz in the last decade of the century XIX, as part of the literary propaganda towards the Albanians, up to the adop- tions and distortions of the same teachings by the communist historians half a century later. Such evolution passed through two major steps: the transition from the scientific tradition of Volkskunde als Volksgeschichte to its sibling version of Soviet Etnographiya; and further on to the implementation of the historiographic archetype work of the Hungarian historian Lajos Thallóczy in the new textbooks by the Albanian communist historians.     UDC 809.198.3-02 Original Scholarly Work Vanja STANISIC Faculty of Philology Belgrade TWO TYPES OF ANCIENT INDO-EUROPEAN ISOGLOSSES IN THE ALBANIAN LANGUAGE Abstract Since a separate Indo-European feature of the Albanian lan­ guage has been discovered in the mid-19th century, reliable and gener­ ally accepted criteria for determining its ethno-liguistic connections were largely exhausted. Due to the comparatively late appearance of the Albanian language on the historical scene, on the one hand, and the absence of literary testaments of old-Balkan langauages on the other, the dispute on the origin of the Albanian language has been conducted for two centuries, with relatively moderate results. This paper attempts to view the question of Albanian ethno-linguistic ties in the light of new conclusions that have emerged in the comparative grammar of Indo-European languages. The fact that Albanian is spoken in territories inhabited in the past by Illyrian tribes has incited pioneers in Albanology to view it as a successor of the Illyrian language [1. Be­ sides a similarity in the tribal names of the ancient and contemporary inhabitants of that part of the Balkans, the Illyrian 'AA~aVOt - the Alba­ nian arbcn/erber (with a void of eight centuries between them), lin­ guists have before them meager data which has itself been a subject of dispute and insufficient for any reliable judgment on the Illyrian lan­ guage.
