LOCATION – The Triton Regional School District serves the Massachusetts coastal towns of Newbury, Rowley and Salisbury. Located in the northeast corner of the state, these three communities provide a distinct population of students to the school district. With all three rural towns dating back to the 1630’s, the area is rich in historical traditions and attractions which add to the academic experience of our students. The student population for the Triton District in 2013-2014 was 2,800 with 94% white, and 6% African American, Hispanic, Native American, or Asian American. The Triton High School teaching staff is a dedicated group of educators, of whom 81% hold advanced degrees. 100% are licensed and 100% of the teachers in the core academic subjects are Highly Qualified under NCLB regulations. The average teacher/student ratio is 13:1.

TYPE – Triton High School is a four-year comprehensive high school with an enrollment of approximately 748. It is of contiguous unit construction with the facilities and equipment to offer a variety of academic disciplines and co-curricular activities. In 2005, Triton High School was granted continuing accreditation by the New England Association of Schools and .

CURRICULA OFFERED – Triton High School offers college preparatory and career-oriented programs with complete flexibility and overlapping selection. Approximately ninety percent of the graduates plan to continue their post-secondary education.

EXPLANATION OF PROGRAM AND SPECIAL OFFERINGS -  21 credits are required for graduation: 4 in English, 4 in Mathematics, 3 in Science, 3 in Social Studies, 2 in Foreign Language, 2 in Practical/Fine Arts, and 1.55 in Physical Education. All students pursue a full schedule on a 7 period x 7 day rotating schedule.  Advanced Placement courses offered during the 2014-2015 school year: AP Art Studio, AP Biology, AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, AP English Language Composition, AP English Literature, AP European History, AP French Language, AP US History, AP US Government & Politics, AP Physics, AP Spanish Language, and AP Statistics.  Foreign language availability in French, Italian, and Spanish, as well as interactive online Chinese course offerings.  Natural Science focuses on the study of living animals. The care of injured and orphaned wildlife is housed within the building.  Business department offers the DECA program, preparing students as leaders, entrepreneurs, and with career-related competencies.  Dual Enrollment, Early College Program, Media Productions, and onsite Banking Internships extend learning opportunities.  Interscholastic athletics consists of thirty-seven teams in twenty sports.  Program of Studies available online at http://high.trsd.net/
