Celebrating Years of Music A Serenade to Music “We are the music-makers And we are the dreamers of dreams…” (Arthur William Edgar O’Shaughnessy, Ode) The story of BBC Northern Ireland’s involvement in nurturing and broadcasting local musical talent is still in the making. This exhibition provides a revealing glimpse of work in progress at the BBC’s Community Archive in documenting the programmes and personalities who have brought music in all its different forms to life, and looks at how today’s broadcasters are responding to the musical styles and opportunities of a new century. It celebrates BBC NI’s role in supporting musical diversity and creative excellence and reflects changes in fashion, technology and society across 80 years of local broadcasting. “ Let us celebrate the way we were and the way we live now. Much has been achieved since 2BE’s first faltering (and scarcely heard) musical broadcast in 1924. Liebe Freundinnen Und Freunde!
Musikantebuckl, Oberotterbach (Leider ausverkauft!) 09.10. VHS Frankfurt 10.10. Museum Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald, St. Oswald Mehr über unsere Zusammenarbeit mit ihr lest Ihr hier Terminsache II An unsere Freunde/Leserinnen in Irland: In 2005 the Mixed Choir of the BASF Choral Society toured Ireland and had only positive things to tell about the trip, the response of their Irish audience and about the splendid organisation of it as carried out by Gaeltacht Travel Agency. This led to the growing wish among the members of the BASF Men’s Choir to follow suit. Other Men’s choirs from Hermersberg (MGV Frohsinn) and Pirmasens (Chorgemeinschaft Windberg) that are in close contact with the BASF Men’s Choir expressed a similar interest, and thus the project of an “Irish Concert Tour” was born – for all three of them. Nearly 50 men came together in order to form a project choir – because to a true choir member a trip without singing together is simply not imaginable! German folk songs, selections from musicals and operas, sacred music etc. were rehearsed, and choirmaster Wolfgang Sieber, who also conducts the choir, was able to prepare the singers to the best of their musical skills.
