FRANCIS OF ASSISI School News Weekend of March 8 & 9, 2014 Wow! It has been 4 months since our last 3 rd Grade bulletin entry and we have grown so much. Not only have we grown taller but we have also grown smarter. Our class has been working very hard to prepare for the fourth grade that God decided to have it snow so much, to make us take a break! When we weren't in school due to the snow we were still practic- ing our math skills on IXL.com and reading The Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series, a classroom favorite. Currently, as a class we are enjoying a classic novel titled The Phantom Tollbooth , written by Norton Juster. We are also fortunate to have tools like our SmartBoard, projector, and net books. Technology is a tool our class utilizes to absorb the knowledge needed to succeed in an innovative and ever changing world. We use our class website as a form of communication and a source of information. The SmartBoard in our classroom allows for interactive lessons that are often fun. We also use search en- gines to research topics we are curious about. Presently, in Technology Class we are practicing our typing skills which will come in handy for when we type up letters to send to third graders across the nation. The months have seem to go by so quickly! In November, we hosted the Thanksgiving Prayer Service and it went beautifully. We all have so much to be thankful for! When December came around we celebrated the birth of Jesus at our reverent Christmas concert. We came back so refreshed from our winter break that by the end of January we learned our Multiplication Tables! We also have made some great new memories with our Grandfriends. We have made holiday arts and crafts with our Grandfriends, toured a firetruck, and experienced a visit from a police canine unit. Now, we leave you in February with hopes that the Good Lord blesses us with warm weather! Our third grade, along with our school, will keep you in our prayers as we are grateful for your prayers. God Bless! Love, Miss Crisafulli and the Third Grade
