14 2016 REUNION WEEKEND Class year 1s & 6s celebration

ND pride was on display last Fall 2016 as class years ending in 1s and 6s celebrated during Reunion Weekend sponsored by the NDCP Alumni Association. The weekend kicked off on Friday, October 6 at the pre-Homecoming game gathering in the school’s library. Dons from 1961 to 2011 came back on campus to reunite with old classmates and reminisce about their good ol’ days of Notre Dame. There was big participation from the Class of 1966, since they were celebrating their 50th, as well as Classes from 1971, ‘81 and ’86. All swapped stories and shared a good laugh about their high school memories. It was a great party filled with food and drink that continued to the football stadium for the Varsity Homecoming game against Marion Catholic. Members of the Class of 1966 presented the flag before the game in recognition of their 50th reunion. The Varsity won the game 26-6 which was a great way to end the evening. Saturday, October 7 was packed with reunion events; golf, mass in the chapel plus a cocktail party and dinner at White Eagle Banquets in Niles, IL. All alumni have made lifelong friends at Notre Dame and it was a pleasure to see Dons reconnecting, flipping through yearbooks, shaking hands and enjoying each other’s company, all sharing the common bond of being a Don. The Alumni Association would like to thank all for attending and encourage everyone to keep the Don connection going. Let’s make it clear that “Once a Don, Always a Don” is more than just a catch phrase!
