In spite of it all, this cracked land possesses a surreal beauty. What is The Biodiversity Museum? Another extraordinary creation of the notable architect Frank Gehry, the museum was propelled by the Fundación Amador to create a liaison between the Panamanian people and the world. With the cooperation of the Panamanian Government, the Smithsonian Institute, and the University of Panama, it will relate the story of the isthmus’ raising out of the ocean three million years ago, an event that changed the earth.
The mission of the museum will be to change perspectives on how people see things, how they interact, and how they care for the environment. It is, indeed, an educa- tional instrument with the objective of illustrating the value of the country’s biodi- versity.
