Vorwort Schifffahrt – auch für Horgen von Bedeutung Liebe Leserinnen, liebe Leser Einmal mehr halten Sie das neue Jahrheft in Händen, und schon das Titelbild versetzt uns in eine besondere Stimmung. Der Raddampfer, der auf uns zufährt, lädt uns ein, ins neue Jahrheft einzutauchen. Heute ist es die Seesicht, die unsere Gemeinde zu einer höchst begehrten Wohnlage macht; früher war es der See, der als Verkehrsachse von grosser Bedeutung war. Wer die Geschichte von Horgen etwas genauer verfolgt, der weiss natürlich, dass unser Ortsmuseum – die Sust – ehemaliger Warenumschlagplatz war und wesentlich zur Entwicklung von Horgen beigetragen hat. Wir müssen aber gar nicht so weit zurück- blicken. Schlagen Sie das Jahrheft auf Seite 17 auf und bewundern Sie unseren Bahnhofplatz samt «Minischiffsteg», wie er sich vor gut 100 Jah- ren präsentiert hat – er hätte auch einen Preis verdient. -

ZIS Health Services 2013-2014 School nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the wellbeing and academic success of students and supports staff and faculty in areas related to health and wellness. There is a nurse on every campus except for the Early Childhood campus (ECC) in Kilchberg. The Middle School nurse also serves the ECC and travels the short distance to the ECC at a moment’s notice. Early Childhood Center teachers are regularly trained in First Aid. • The Lower School (Wadenswil) Office is open Mon-Fri from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. • The Middle School (Kilchberg) Office is open Mon-Fri from 8:30-4:30 p.m. • The Upper School (Adliswil) Office is open Mon-Fri from 8:30-5:30 pm • The Lower /Middle School (Baden) is open Mon-Fri from 8:30-2:30 p.m. Students should always inform their class teacher if they need to see the nurse, unless it is an emergency situation. A student may make their own appointment or just drop in during opening times e.g. lunch time before or after school. School Physical Examinations: Zurich International School requires that a complete online medical health form is submitted prior to a student’s attendance in classes and activities at ZIS. The School Nurse manages the health of your child based on the information given on this form: therefore it is important that the form be filled out completely, including emergency contact information, emergency treatment authorization, immunization records, and the authorization to administer medication. -

Here, we focus on archaeological samples of European whitefish (Coregonus spp.) from Switzerland covering different time periods. Coregonus bones and scales are commonly found in archaeological assemblages, but these elements lack species specific features and thus inhibit morphological species identification. Even today, fish taxonomy is confusing and numerous species and ecotypes are recognized, and even more probably existed in the past. By targeting short fragments of the mitochondrial d-loop in 48 morphologically identified Coregonus scales and vertebrae from 10 archaeological sites in Switzerland, endogenous d-loop sequences were found in 24 samples from one Neolithic, two Roman, and four Medieval sites. Two major mtDNA clades, C and N, known from contemporary European whitefish populations were detected, suggesting co-occurrence for at least 5000 years. In the future, NGS technologies may be used to explore Coregonus or other fish species and ecotype diversity in the past to elucidate the human impact on lacustrine/limnic environments. -

März 2021 Zusatz zur heutigen Medienmitteilung «Fahrpläne 2022 und 2023 öffentlich aufgelegt» des Zürcher Verkehrsverbunds (ZVV): Angebotsänderungen im Marktgebiet Zimmerberg Der Zürcher Verkehrsverbund (ZVV) hat zusammen mit den Verkehrsunternehmen, den Gemeinden und den Regiona- len Verkehrskonferenzen die Fahrpläne für die Jahre 2022 und 2023 erarbeitet. Auf der ZVV -Website können alle inte- ressierten Personen die Entwürfe einsehen und bis zum 29. März 2021 allfällige Änderungsbegehren an ihre Wohnge- meinde im Kanton Zürich richten. Im Marktgebiet Zimmerberg sind folgende Angebotsänderungen vorgesehen: Neues Nachtnetz ab Dezember 2021 Das Nachtnetz am oberen Zimmerberg wird von zwei auf vier Buslinien erweitert. Heute besteht nur in Horgen und Wädenswil Anschluss an die S-Bahn (SN8). Künftig kann auch in Oberrieden, Horgen, Au ZH, Wädenswil und Richterswil auf einen Nacht- bus umgestiegen werden. Dies ermöglicht direktere Linienführungen und die Erschliessung von Quarti eren und Dorfteilen, die im Moment noch keinen Nachtbus haben. Neu kann auch an Unterwegs-Haltestellen eingestiegen und auf einigen Linien oder Teillinien der Bus in der Gegenrichtung genutzt werden. Mit der Umlegung der Linie 155 von der Zuger - auf die Bergstrasse entsteht neu ein Halbstundentakt zwischen Gstaldenrank und Horgen, Bahnhof. Die L inie 155 verkehrt künftig nur noch während den Hauptverkehrszeiten via Waidli. Zudem verkehrt die Linie 155 künftig auch am Samstag und Sonntag, wodurch Hirzel auch am Wochenende mit zwei Verbindungen pro Stunde erschlossen ist. -
