Over the past several decades, some Arab and Islamic countries, in addition to other countries, have taken giant steps towards activating this type of services, and many traditional banks have turned to providing their services in accordance with the requirements of Sharia, completely or by mixing with their traditional financial transactions. In many cases, this transformation was driven by changes in the environment surrounding the activity of these banks, and the growing demand for this type of services. It is well known that Algeria is lagging behind in the field of Islamic banking. However, the past years have witnessed an increase in demand for Islamic banks services, as many public and private banks have shown their willingness to cover this demand by providing these services. In light of the current financial, economic and marketing changes, Algeria works on creating the appropriate ground that allows the development and provision of Islamic banking services and their organization, as the Bank of Algeria issued in 2020 Regulation No. 20-02 specific for banking operations related to Islamic banking and the rules for their practice by banks and financial institutions, This would open the way for public banks to practice Islamic banking activities after this activity was limited to some services that were exclusive to private banks. This regulation issued by the Bank of Algeria identified eight types of Islamic banking services that can be practiced by banks and institutions. Financial, which are as follows: Murabaha, Musharaka, Mudaraba, Ijara, Salam, Istisna'a, Deposit Accounts, Deposits in Investment Accounts.
