Gold Meets Golden began as a featured party leading in to the 2013 Golden Globe awards, honoring the athletes of the 2012 London Games. Specific Platform Goals for the following slate of events include an introduction of Rio’s Team USA to Hollywood, a Good Luck Send-off from Hollywood to these athletes, and a Timely Celebration of Equality in Sport. EVENTS SCHEDULE THE 2016 GOLDEN GLOBES PARTY GMG returns to the 2016 Golden Globe Awards on JANUARY 10, 2016. In a special event, veteran Olympians and 2016 returning and hopeful athletes will be greeted by Golden Globe nominees and winners and other Hollywood celebrities, sharing and recording special messages of Good Luck for the upcoming Games. 7 ROAD TO RIO 2016 HOLLYWOOD PREMIERES GMG will bring athletes and Olympians to a variety of red carpet premieres of films that focus on sports or competition. Special receptions will be held for attending athletes as an opportunity to interact with sponsors. These include: “Hunger Games: Mockingjay 2” (11/20/15) “The Bronze”: (10/16/15) “Eddie the Eagle”: (8/29/16) “Pelé”: (TBA 2016) “Bleed For This”: (TBA 2016) “Undrafted”: (TBA 2016) 8 ROAD TO RIO 2016 “100 DAYS OUT” EVENT APRIL 2016: The “100 Days To Rio 2016” will roll out in Times Square, with a special celebrity & athlete media event transforming the iconic tourist location into Rio. Sponsors will have an opportunity to activate a custom Brazilian-themed presence with attending VIP & Public, along with TimesTalks panels by the NY Times. (Pictured Below: A similar successful event for London 2012) 9 ROAD TO RIO 2016 RIO CELEBRITY EVENT: COPACABANA BEACH AUGUST 2016: Predictions have been made that Rio 2016 could be one of the highest celebrity-attended Olympics in a non-USA location. Gold Meets Golden will be holding a special party and hospitality program for celebrities traveling to Rio for the Games. MEDIA INTEGRATIONS: A media integration program similar but larger scale to the examples mentioned for London 2012 and Sochi 2014 Games will again take place (see pages 20-21). See goldmeetsgolden.com for full media results. 13 SOCIAL MEDIA Celebrity and Athlete attendees buzz about the GMG events on social networks and post pictures to their several thousands of followers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, which are then proliferated via media and sponsors to on average over 8-10 million impressions. 14 CUSTOM SPONSOR PROGRAMS In addition to universal exposure benefits, Gold Meets Golden will work with Sponsors to tailor special activity that directly produces results toward a particular partner’s goals. Examples from past include: EQUINOX FITNESS Equinox Fitness wanted to reach celebrities and professional athletes to become members of their gyms, and to particularly showcase their newly renovated flagship club in Los Angeles. Events were hosted at the club directly, and custom media segments were created for large outlets like Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood, showing top celebs in the space and even athletes like Gold-Medal swimmer Missy Franklin using their pool and facilities. RESULTS: Equinox is currently known as the top, elite celebrity gym in the city. ` 15 CUSTOM SPONSOR PROGRAMS P&G “THANK YOU MOM” Goal: Amplify the “Thank You Mom” Olympic Seth Myers campaign within both the Hollywood & Sports communities. Activation: A video crew documented special Jessica Chastain messages from the athletes and celebrities who & Mom attended GMG events saying why they couldn’t achieve their goals without their mothers. These messages were shared on social media platforms. Nate Berkus & Mom RESULTS: The #ThankYouMom hashtag generated over 25 million exposures, and P&G became known as a mom and family-loving brand in further parts of both Golden Globes industries. Gi1 Bag 16 CUSTOM SPONSOR PROGRAMS COCA-COLA’S OLYMPIC “MUSEUM” Coca-Cola wanted to prove their commitment as the longest-running sponsor of the Olympics and as a great long-term partner for Hollywood. A special display of Coca-Cola memorabilia, artifacts, and several years of real Olympic torches was created so that VIP attendees could have a chance to really interact with the brand. RESULTS: The Coca-Cola memorabilia imagery ran in several broadcast, print and online outlets and their messaging of commitment to the Games & Hollywood carries on year after year. 17 PHOTO & VIDEO OPP Attendees and sponsors have the chance to participate in a fun, Olympic-themed branded photo opportunity to be distributed via physical prints and the media. Attendees can even record a message of support that will be shown to the 2016 Olympians. Each year, thousands of local, national and international press outlets take to the Globes carpet, creating great exposure for brands and sponsors whose athletes attend as special guests of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Athletes interacted with various Hollywood celebrities and nominees, including Ben Affleck, Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon, George Clooney, Bradley Cooper, Mark Wahlberg, Connie Britton, Halle Berry, Kerry Washington, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Anne Hathaway & many more. 19 BRANDED MEDIA INTEGRATION At the London 2012 and Sochi 2014 Games, GMG provided an important platform in the media for Hollywood to be able to directly wish “Good Luck” to the competing athletes from back home. Sponsors were featured in the pieces. Examples Include: Gymnast Gabby Douglas was surprised Gabby Douglas the night before her Gold Medal win by & Vampire Diaries the cast of her favorite show “The Vampire Diaries,” who wished her luck and even offered her a supporting role on the show. Freestyle Skier Torin Yater-Wallace listens to Taylor Swift on his training playlist, and was blown away when the pop artist wished him well in a special Taylor Swi & Torin Yater-Wallace shout-out shown to him in Sochi. 20 BRANDED MEDIA INTEGRATION Ice Dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White are surprised when cast members from their favorite show “Downton Abbey” commend them on their gold medal at Sochi.
