A survey on the occurrence of Longhorn-beetles in the Province of South Tyrol-Bolzano is given. The first monograph of the Longhorn-beetles (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae) of the fauna of South Tyrol (N-Italy: Province Bozen-Bolzano) was published by the Author back in 1967. Over 40 years later, a current up- dated and revised edition is given, where also incisive changes and innovations on the valid actual scientific nomenclature of species that occurred since the first edition are considered. Scientific nomenclature follows the recent publications of BENSE (1995), JANIS (2001) and FAUNA EUROPAEA (2007/09) respectively. Detailed descriptions of the presence and biology of some Cerambycid species are given for the first time. Also a historical review of Cerambycid-studies in South-Tirol is given. Apart from the own recent collec- tions and observations made by the Author during the last 45 years, further considered were the findings and rearing results of five other collectors and colleagues, operating here for the last decades, like: M. Kahlen (Hall i.Tirol), W. Schwienbacher (Auer), M. Egger (Innsbruck), E. Niederfriniger (Schenna) und G. v. Mörl (Brixen). In the special faunistic section, the review of each species begins with brief indications about general geographical distribution in Europe and about ecological occurrence, and continues subsequently with a mention of the former indications given by V. M. -

This study was conducted in a region of southern Yunnan, China, which was dominated by natural rainforest until 30 years ago, but is successively transformed into commercial rubber monoculture plantations since that time. The objectives were to investigate longhorn beetle species diversity and distribution in the major land use types of this landscape and to estimate the effects of an expected expansion of rubber plantations on the longhorn beetle assemblages. The results showed that tree species diversity (181 species in total) and longhorn beetle diversity (220 species in total) were closely related with no significant differences between the tree and longhorn beetles assemblages shown by similarity distance analysis. There was a highly positive relationship between the estimated species richness of longhorn beetles and the number of tree species. Individual numbers of longhorn beetles and trees were also highly positive related at the sampling sites. Non-metric multidimensional scaling revealed that the degree of canopy coverage, succession age and tree diversity explained 78.5% of the total variation in longhorn beetle assemblage composition. -

In the southern part of the Upper Rhine valley (border region of Switzerland, Germany and France) the habitat suitable for this flightless beetle has been reduced to small remnants of extensively managed dry grassland, usually sur- rounded by intensively cultivated agricultural fields or settlements. Using a mark–release–resight technique we examined movement patterns in three D. fuliginator populations to obtain basic information on the dispersal ability and longevity of this beetle. Esti- mated daily survival rates ranged from 88.8% to 90.8% in the populations examined. This corresponds to a mean life span of 10.5 days. Distances moved by D. fuliginator differed among populations. The beetles walked the largest distances in the verges of a field track. Several beetles moved distances of 20–100 m along the track, with a maximum distance of 218 m (a male in 12 days). The shortest displacements were recorded in the bank of the river Rhine, a narrow habitat surrounded by tarmac roads. -

Updated 02.03.2021 REMARKS #1 Some authors regarded Vesperus serranoi as a synonym of V. conicicollis; according to Vives (2000) V. conicicollis = V. baesuriensis. According to C.Pesarini and A.Sabbadini (2004), V. ligusticus is a species; V.strepens litigiosus, stat. nov. was established, that was not accepted by E.Vives (2004). According to Vives (2004): V. conicicollis hispalensis Fuente, 1901 = V. baesuriensis Zuzarte, 1985; V. bolivari Oliveira, 1893 = V. reitteri Cameron, 1912 V. strepens ssp. ligusticus Vitali, 2001 is accepted. V. s. litigiosus (as V. strepens m. litigiosus was recorded for Italy (Vitali, 2005). According to P. Berger and G. Sama (2006) V. strepens = V. litigiosus = V. ligusticus. Vesperus aragonicus was recorded for France (Comelade, 2000). V. barredai Verdugo, 2009 close to V.bolivari was described from Sevilla (Andalusia, Spain), Monforte (Alto Alentejo) and Coruche (Ribatejo) both in Portugal. #2 Callimus (Procallimus) semicyaneus Pic, 1905 described from Greece (Mt. Taygetos) was supposed for Macedonia (Mikšić & Georgijević, 1973: 45) and shown for Macedonia by Bense (1995: 233 – as Callimus egregius) without any arguments. C. semicyaneus was recorded (Adlbauer, 1988: 280) for “westlichen Kleinasien” without exact localities. #3 The tribe system of Lepturinae (with Rhamnusiini, Oxymirini, Enoploderini and so on) is more or less agree with P.Švácha (1989 in Švácha, Danilevsky, 1989) divisions, though P.Švácha joined Rhamnusium and Enoploderes in one tribe. Rhamnusiini, Oxymirini and Enoploderini were named by Danilevsky in “A Check-list …” (Althoff and Danilevsky,1977) with the refrences to the characters published by Švácha (1989 in Švácha, Danilevsky, 1989), so are available according to the Art. -
