Beiträge zur bayerischen Entomofaunistik 15:1–10, Bamberg (2015), ISSN 1430-015X Hirschkäfer in Naturwaldreservaten und Wirtschaftswald-Vergleichsflächen (Insecta: Coleoptera: Lucanidae) von Heinz Bußler & Markus Blaschke Summary: Stag beetle (Lucanidae) are common, with over 1,000 species worldwide, most species live in the Oriental. In Cen- tral Europe, the spectrum is reduced to seven species in six genera, all of which are also found in Bavaria. Six stag beetle species were found in 28 strict forest reserves, one species only in control plots. The Bavarian forests are of outstanding importance for the protection of our stag beetles. Special structures and environmental parameters influence their occurrence. Key factors are at the stag beetles, the type and quantity of development substrates and climatic conditions that can be met in different forest com- munities. Some stag beetle species are good indicators of habitat tradtion and structure continuity of forest stands and as “um- brella species” associated with many other rare and endangered organisms. They can be used to identify locations that require special attention and special treatment. Zusammenfassung: Hirschkäfer (Fam. Lucanidae) sind mit über 1000 Arten weltweit verbreitet, die meisten Arten leben in der Orientalis. In Mitteleuropa reduziert sich das Spektrum auf sieben Arten in sechs Gattungen, die alle auch in Bayern vorkom- men. Von sechs heimischen Hirschkäferarten liegen Nachweise aus 28 Naturwaldreservaten vor, von einer Art nur zwei Nach- weise aus Vergleichsflächen. -

Two species, Pachyta lamed (Linnae- us, 1758) and Monochamus sartor (Fabricius, 1787), are considered very rare. Acanthocinus griseus (Fab- ricius, 1792) was not previously recorded in this area. All specimens were collected (or their occurrence visually recorded) as adults on the trunks of logged trees or on flowering plants. The abundance and distri- bution of selected species is briefly discussed. Key words: entomological research, faunistics, long-horned beetles. ÚVOD V letech 1998–2006 probíhal intenzivní výzkum bionomie a ekofyziologie lýkožrouta smr- kového (Ips typographus (Linnaeus, 1758)) na území Národního parku Šumava (dále jen NPŠ). Jako vedlejší produkt této činnosti se podařilo shromáždit údaje o výskytu a rozšíře- ní zástupců z čeledi tesaříkovitých (Cerambycidae) na vybraných lokalitách NPŠ. V dostup- né literatuře se nepodařilo dohledat speciální studie, které by se týkaly fauny tesaříků na sledovaných lokalitách, zjištěné údaje jsou proto srovnávány s prací HEYROVSKÉHO (1955) a SLÁMY (1998). METODIKA Brouci byli sbíráni výhradně ve stadiu dospělce buď na skládkách vykáceného smrkového dřeva nebo na kvetoucích keřích a bylinách. V letech 1998–2002 byly lokality sledovány pravidelně od května do září ve dvoutýdenních intervalech, v následujících letech přibližně jednou měsíčně. -

This article is an open access publication Abstract Beetles are one of the largest and most diverse groups of animals in the world. Conversion of forewings into hardened shields is perceived as a key adaptation that has greatly supported the evolutionary success of this taxa. Beetle elytra play an essential role: they minimize the influence of unfavorable external factors and protect insects against predators. Therefore, it is particularly interesting why some beetles have reduced their shields. This rare phenomenon is called brachelytry and its evolution and implications remain largely unexplored. In this paper, we focused on rare group of brachelytrous beetles with exposed hind wings. We have investigated whether the elytra loss in different beetle taxa is accompanied with the hind wing shape modification, and whether these changes are similar among unrelated beetle taxa. We found that hind wings shape differ markedly between related brachelytrous and macroelytrous beetles. Moreover, we revealed that modifications of hind wings have followed similar patterns and resulted in homoplasy in this trait among some unrelated groups of wing-exposed brachelytrous beetles. Our results suggest that elytra reduction may affect the evolution of beetle hind wings. In this paper we present the first records of the longhorn beetleChlorophorus herbstii (Brahm, 1790) from Hole, Buskerud in Norway. The species was found in a southwest faced stone scree with a mixed composition of tree species, dominated by lime. Several rare and red listed species of Coleoptera and Hymenoptera were found at the same site, indicating a high variety of insects dependent on trees in different stages of decomposition. Two new records of the longhorn beetle Chlorophorus varius (Miiller) are presented from Narke, Central Sweden. The species was regarded as extinct.in Sweden, the most recent record being more than 125 years old. One female was observed on a flower in June 1985. Two adults emerged in August 1993 from a dry branch of Tilia cordata collected in the vicinity of Skagarhultsmossen. A map of distribution is presented together with remarks on bionomy. Sand pit for Biodiversity at Cep II quarry Researcher: Klára Řehounková Research group: Petr Bogusch, David Boukal, Milan Boukal, Lukáš Čížek, František Grycz, Petr Hesoun, Kamila Lencová, Anna Lepšová, Jan Máca, Pavel Marhoul, Klára Řehounková, Jiří Řehounek, Lenka Schmidtmayerová, Robert Tropek Březen – září 2012 Abstract We compared the effect of restoration status (technical reclamation, spontaneous succession, disturbed succession) on the communities of vascular plants and assemblages of arthropods in CEP II sand pit (T řebo ňsko region, SW part of the Czech Republic) to evaluate their biodiversity and conservation potential. We also studied the experimental restoration of psammophytic grasslands to compare the impact of two near-natural restoration methods (spontaneous and assisted succession) to establishment of target species. The sand pit comprises stages of 2 to 30 years since site abandonment with moisture gradient from wet to dry habitats. In all studied groups, i.e. vascular pants and arthropods, open spontaneously revegetated sites continuously disturbed by intensive recreation activities hosted the largest proportion of target and endangered species which occurred less in the more closed spontaneously revegetated sites and which were nearly absent in technically reclaimed sites. Out results provide clear evidence that the mosaics of spontaneously established forests habitats and open sand habitats are the most valuable stands from the conservation point of view. It has been documented that no expensive technical reclamations are needed to restore post-mining sites which can serve as secondary habitats for many endangered and declining species. The experimental restoration of rare and endangered plant communities seems to be efficient and promising method for a future large-scale restoration projects in abandoned sand pits. -

Munis Entomology & Zoology, 9 (2): 687-712] ABSTRACT: The aim of this study is to create a Turkish Red List of the longicorn beetles. Moreover, presence such a Red List is necessary for Turkey. Even governmental evaluations could cause some erroneous decisions due to absence such a Red List. Since, governmental evaluations at the present time are based on the works that are realized with respect to the European Red List. Furthernore, Turkey appears a continental property changeable in very short distances in terms of climatical features and field structures. So, the status of European fauna and the status of Turkish fauna are not the same. Clearly, there is no any work that subjected to create a Turkish Red List except Parts I-VII. Hence, a series work is planned with this purpose. This type of study is the eighth attempt for Turkey. KEY WORDS: Red List, Conservation, Cerambycidae, Turkey. The purpose of the current study was to create a Turkish Red List of longicorn beetles similarly to “European Red List of Saproxylic Beetles” that was compiled by Ana Nieto & Keith N. A. Alexander and published by IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) in collaboration with the European Union in 2010.
