ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR NOVEMBER 2006

MASQUERS PLAYHOUSE

Coming November 3 – December 16: “Company” by Stephen Sondheim, directed by Gregg Klein. An honest, sophisticated look at relationships, “Company” examines the fragile state of marriage from the point of view of commitment-phobic Robert on his 35th birthday. As relevant today as when it debuted on Broadway in 1970, it features a brilliant, razor-sharp script by George Furth and the legendary music/lyrics of Stephen Sondheim.

The 2007-2008 season will begin in January with the classic favorite, “Arsenic and Old Lace,” directed by Betsy Bell Ringer. Two lovely elderly ladies advertise a room for rent, gentleman preferred. Mysteriously, any prospective boarders are never seen again. Add to this intrigue the appearance of a long lost nephew who bears a striking resemblance to Boris Karloff and his drunken sidekick, a plastic surgeon. In addition, there’s another nephew who thinks he’s Teddy Roosevelt and a dead body in the window seat!

Reservations: 510-232-4031 For more information: www.masquers.org.
