GREEN WASTE PROGRAM

Purpose The Curbside Green Waste program is designed to help Lehi City residents recycle green waste at their property. Did you know that every ton of green waste recycling could save three (3) cubic yards of landfill space! Organic debris can be reused through purposes of mulching, composting, landscaping and helping the city sewage system. By participating in this program, residents can easily and conveniently recycle their green waste, which will contribute toward improving our environment.

Program Lehi City will provide a separate 96-gallon container to city residents that wish to recycle only organic waste. Resident’s simply roll the container to the curb and Waste Management does the rest. Organic green wastes such as broken down tree limbs, lawn & weed clippings, leaves and tree stumps will be accepted. Tree stumps may not be any bigger than 6’ in diameter. Paper, plastic, and other household waste are not acceptable. NO plastic garbage bags!!! (It’s very important that we only put organic waste in the containers. If non-organic material is placed in the green waste containers, then we may be subject to a rate increase.)

Service Schedule Containers will be serviced once a week on the same day as your regular garbage pickup, depending on you location, and should be on the curb no later than 7 a.m. The program will run from March 1 through November 30. Billing is stopped at the end of the season, although the container will remain at your residence so it is available for the following spring.

Eligibility Any resident residing within the city limits of Lehi City

Application & Implementation This is a voluntary subscription curbside program. A monthly service fee of $6.50 will be charged and a seasonal commitment will be required. City residents are responsible for signing up though Lehi’s utility department. Simply fill out the bottom portion of this page and return it to the Lehi City Office located at 153 North 100 East with your utility payment. For further information call 768-7100.
