Logan City Environmental Department offers curbside green waste collection to residents of Hyrum, Nibley, Millville, Logan, Hyde Park, North Logan, Providence, River Heights, Wellsville, and Smithfield . Curbside green waste collection costs $4 each month (and requires a minimum one year com- mitment) . We deliver a 90 gallon green can (similar to the cans you already have) to your home. You keep the container year-round, even when ser- vice has been discontinued for the winter months. Green waste containers are emptied weekly on your regular garbage day from the last week of March through mid November. Exact season dates can be found on our website. It is FREE to dispose of green waste ma- terials at this facility. Green Waste materials in- clude grass, leaves, straw, hay, branches, shrubs, and garden/yard waste. The facility is open Mon- day through Saturday from 8 am to 5:30 pm. At this facility, we DO NOT accept rocks, gravel, dirt, sod, tree root balls, painted or treated wood, or anything over 6 feet in length or 36 inches in diameter. Please do not bag materials that you bring to our facility. All usable materials that we receive at the green waste facility are recycled into items such as compost, mulch, and woodchips. Well then sell these products to the public at reasonable rates. All compost is kept at temperatures of at least 140 degrees for two weeks. This is the state stan- dard for killing pathogens and weed seeds in the raw materials. Compost samples are tested by the Utah State University soil lab periodically to make sure we are selling a quality product.
